Such a beautiful and welcoming home! Our hosts attention to detail was extraordinary. The little touches throughout the house were better then most hotels. If you forgot pack something, no worries, it was there. We were disappointed that it rained for the duration of our stay so we were unable to take advantage of the outdoor spaces and the beautiful grounds. Our host was easy to reach, and very accommodating. My family loved the property so much and it's convenient location that we are planning to make it an annual tradition to visit Lilac House. Thank you so much for the use of your beautiful home and your exceptional hospitality. I look forward to visiting again.

The host, Kathy was terrific and very responsive and helpful! The house is stocked with EVERYTHING which made our stay stress-free and very easy!!! The property is beautiful and very close to the horse show and the town. Kathy left many thoughtful gifts for us which made us feel at home and very welcome.Lilac house is wonderful and we will definitely stay there again!!!!!

Great House, Amazing Property

The house was awesome and the host was very accommodating for a special request regarding our pets. Wish we had more time to enjoy the beautiful property as the garden and fire pit area were great. If we are back up in the area we will definitely look to book the 1890 Cape Cod again!

Everything you need!

We had a great stay at Lilac House. The house is VERY well-appointed. The homeowner has taken great care to consider what you might need during your stay and provide it - from toiletries to small kitchen appliances to dog bowls. The hot tub was new and very clean. We enjoyed using both the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire pit and appreciated the wood being provided onsite. Useful information is provided throughout the house (how to set the alarm, use the fireplace, etc.). The house is on a main road but up a hill and I didn't notice sounds of the road while inside or in the hot tub outdoors. Our group (with pups) were very comfortable and had a great time. Kathy was responsive and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again.

The BEST House Rental

I stayed at the Lilac House this past weekend for a Mom’s trip away with my old roommates from college. The Lilac House is so cute in the posting, but our experience exceeded our expectations. The property owner, Kathy, was so wonderful and communicative from booking the house to when it was time for our stay. When we arrived, we felt right at home. The house was so clean and we had more than enough room for the four of us. While this trip was a girls trip and we didn’t bring our families, it was clear to see we could have brought our little ones. Kathy had a highchair, games, etc. There were so many personal touches. We truly could have walked through the front door with only clothing and a fresh bag of groceries and been absolutely fine. It’s also worth noting that we took advantage of the hot tub. We were excited to see how clean it was, and it worked perfectly. It’s located in a great spot where you can see the stars on a clear night. Whenever we return to the area, this will be our go-to spot.

The best VRBO we have been in!

WE LOVED this house! It was perfect for our small gathering of friends for the weekend. Kathy has provided literally anything you might possibly need during your stay. She was so helpful and made sure we knew she was available if we had any questions. The house and grounds are beautiful. The kitchen is amazing. We will definitely be coming back to stay here again!

Girl's getaway

Spent two nights at Lilac House. The home was well equipped with anything one might need and the owner provided explicit instructions for the home, a guidebook for the surrounding areas and was responsive when contacted. The drawers and cabinets in the kitchen were even labeled! The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of seating and the downstairs was very spacious. Only issue for us being seniors was a rail to decking for entry to the home would have been helpful as the decking was slippery when damp. The location was great with easy access to Woodstock and access to major roadways.

Cozy House

We really enjoyed our stay! The house is very nice and cozy with all the amenities you could need. There are a lot of kitchen appliances that aren't listed so ask the property manager before you bring something. The house is on a busy country hwy and people drive pretty fast on it. There is currently no fence for dogs. We had a great stay!

Fantastic Family Experience

Very nicely decorated vacation home with thoughtful hosts! Everything we needed for a relaxing family stay...Comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms, and a large kitchen and dining table that made it easy to prep and enjoy meals together. The firepit was a great place to hang out and enjoy a summer evening under the stars. We had a wonderful time in this lovely house. Looking forward to staying again.

I'm a traveller, a mom (4 grown kids and a passel of grandkids), a retired ER doc who worked in Yosemite Park for 7 years (best gig ever!), a gardener, an animal lover, and a foodie. I love my kids, my dog, my cat even though he is so bad I had to change his name from Mikey to Darth Mikey, my flower gardens, and bluebirds. I speak fluent French and Spanish and do a lot of. traveling myself, so I know how to make other people comfortable in my space. .

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I fell in love with this place the moment I got out of my car to wait for the realtor who pitched it to me. Why? Even though it was November, I saw the massive lilac bushes all over the property. Whoever lived here loved lilacs. Inside, it was tranquil with good bones, great craftsmanship in the remodel, and just waiting for families and friends to fill it with joy. I'm very picky about accommodations-- and I always thought I could do a good job making it a perfect BNB. Ha ha, it turns out I was right! I don't have a lot of reviews on VRBO, but the other short term rental site has more than 220 five-star reviews! and not a single one less than that. I'm proud of what Lilac House has become- a delight for groups of friends, families, people who love each other and want a space to know it and show it.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Birdsong, snowflakes, fireflies, cardinals, the Milky Way, spring peepers... and the whole Hudson River valley around you. Lilac House is a private , serene country home-- convenient to the Valley's sweetest and funkiest villages, but still feels like a nature sanctuary-- we have bluebirds and cardinals, fawns and wild turkeys, the occasional snake and bear (!-- although they stay away from people). I am a gardener (I even wrote a garden book "Garden in the Sky" on Amazon) and I care for the cutting garden providing fresh flowers, berries and herbs for guests, as well as native pollinator gardens and a "prairie" space that harbors wildlife. The house is made to be comfortable-- the sofas are soft, the kitchen is tricked out to cook pretty much anything you want to cook, and there's lots of space to gather with friends and family members and catch up. Even rainy days ore OK, with the fireplace and lots of jigsaw puzzles to keep you busy. You oughtta come and check it out.
