This home gets professionally sprayed monthly, inside and out for bugs. I have never once seen a roach in this home (even though they are island bugs) but more so have seem a hermit crab or two in the outside atrium. Never once did Brittni contact me in regards to this, its the first im hearing of it. In regards to the refrigerator, we purchased a brand new one the week Brittni checked in since we were having problems with our old one. Come to find out there was a main breaker that was blown from a power surge from WAPA (Island Water and Power Authority) and it had nothing to do with either one of fridges we purchased. Its the same reason that the power had gone off as well along with neither one of the two generators we have, since the coil switch could not activate sue to the blow on the main breaker in the house. (This was only the morning of when these guest left, mind you the guests check out time was 11) What Brittni fails to mention in her review is that I sent an electrician over the house within 30 minutes to take a look at the issue, he was able to rig the generator and get her running water and power in the house for the last few hours before checkout, she also fails mention that I extended her check out time so that they can have that extra time to prepare for their trip home. After finding out that some of the items in the main fridge weren't keeping cold (even though we have a second fridge located on the property that was fully working) I asked Brittni to provide receipts of food that was bought and to come up with a list of items that went bad so that I could give her a refund. She didn't have any receipts at all, only an app where she was personally writing down the amount she was sending. I asked her how much she thought she spent and she told me $1000. I thought that was kind of excessive for the fact that I had learned this the second to last day of their stay. Unfortunately with no receipts or some sort of validation of money spent at the grocery store, I. could not refund Brittni. We do our best at the property to go above and beyond. for our guests, but sometimes things our out of our control. Since this issue, we've placed surge protectors on the fridge and the main breaker in the house to prevent this from happening in the future.

Hello! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay! In regards to the beach path from the house, it lays between property lines. We are only allowed to clear the way on our property and as of lately the neighbors have not. As explained prior, the beach front below the rocks (which we feel is reflected in photos) can not be promised as its only visible during low tide for part of the season and can not always be guaranteed. We never recommend swimming there either as the waves are typically pretty large, and certainly would not recommend this area suitable for children. In regards to the kitchen towels, when asked if anything else was needed during your stay, it was never brought to my attention that there weren't any left out, as I for sure would have come to make sure you were equipped with some. We also leave the kitchen with three new rolls of paper towels in case something is missed. So I hope those helped. What I can say is that we have had issues in the past with cleaning missing a few items for guests stay and since your stay we have actually replaced our normal cleaning crew with a new one. There are some people you come across in life who are never satisfied, unfortunately Susan was one of them. Prior to Susans stay, she continuously contacted me about another Airbnb owner on island that she was suing to try and get more information on them. When I was reluctant to participate, my phone never stopped ringing with complaints about the property once she arrived. We went above and beyond to accommodate Susan and her family with sending maintanence out to the property mid through her stay to clean salt off a window facing ocean front …even though we power wash all windows prior to any guests stay… Allowed Susan to drop off groceries prior to her check in time… Agreed to endlessly supply Susan and her family with paper goods and trash bags which is something we normally don’t do … Susan was mostly upset that I couldn’t get her a birthday chef less than a week to her stay even though I offered to when she booked. She was also upset that I could not extend her check out time on the day of since my cleaning crew had been scheduled and I had new guests coming in… We did not enjoy Susan and would not host Her or any of her family in the future.
