We loved this place. Having a golf cart was so much fun. We have been to Catalina before and we all agreed this was the best place we've stayed. The property management was very helpful. Thanks for making our stay fun and memorable.
Overall it was an average place. The Master bedroom bed was uncomfortable and there is a sun light directly above the bed. So no mater what time you went to sleep ur getting up at 530am. The communication was excellent and they were helpful with quick responses. The golf cart was a very nice amenity to have which saves you a lot of money if your planning on renting one.
I was disappointed in the condition of some of the aspects of the property. Repairs need to be made to several items.the water pressure on the shower upstairs is insufficient, the sofa upstairs needs to be cleaned or replaced. the front door lock is very troublesome to operate. I had to spend the second day if my vacation waiting to have the property cleaned .Overall I would not choose this property again.
The location was great, but the property needs some deep cleaning in my opinion. The golf cart shown in the listing is also not the golf cart that was at the property, the cart we got was way older and smaller. The management team did let us in early which was great since we caught the early ferry, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.
The management of this property is atrocious. The floor was so dirty we all walked around with black feet all weekend. My 80 year old dad couldnât stand it on the last day and mopped when we were at the beach. There was a total of six forks for eight people to use all weekend. All the plates and glasses had a sticky film (bug poison?) and had to be washed before use. I got one plate out of the cupboard that looked like someone ate BBQ ribs on and put back without rinsing. I asked management if they knew what the sticky film was and got no response. The house itself is okay, but there are about 100 places to clip your toe or bump your head - strange architecture. It was nice to have a golf cart, as you need it going up the hill. Itâs not really walking distance to town carrying beach chairs or groceries (almost).
Property needs to have some new upgrades done....very old appliances and ants seem to be an ongoing problem throughout the year....Did not like finding key to property in the flowerbed and the lock box was a little hard to open....The golf cart did not look like the picture in the online listing....
Bunk beds are flimsy.....
This could be a really great property, but once you get past the photos in the listing you realize the âugly truth.â
From the non-working fireplace to the black mold under the kitchen sink, you quickly realize how neglected this property actually is. A sign on the refrigerator warns of occasional ant invasion, but even putting every speck of food into the fridge (as recommended)wonât stop the ants from marching in - and theyâre everywhere (thankfully they donât bite!). The ants are not isolated to the kitchen either, as the upstairs bath had a steady stream of them parading through.
It rained during our stay, and upon walking around the foot of the bed I stepped into a literal puddle of water courtesy of the leaking skylight over the bed. The gas range has a âliteâ position on the control knob, but wonât light without a match or lighter - neither of which is provided. Oh, and the golf cart is not the fancier type pictured in the photos, but a smaller, older model that struggles to even make it up the hill.
In summary, we enjoyed Catalina, but this property needs a lot of TLC and could be so much better.
