This newly renovated three bedroom house on the Boardman River with a hot tub is only eight miles to Downtown Traverse City. Come and relax in this secluded river escape. This house is RIGHT ON the Boardman River, across the river from State Land and near by to numerous beautiful hiking trails which cross through old growth forests. The House has 3 bedrooms and can sleep up to 8 people. This a great central spot for you to explore the area! We own many other rental properties and have just finished remodeling this split level ranch house along the Boardman River close to Downtown. The Boardman river winds along River rd into town and then into the Bay. Grand Traverse County and Traverse City have been restoring this sacred River to its natural habitat by removing all the dams. Come and relax on this secluded river! We are close to many beautiful hikes along the Boardman river, including the Brown Bridge Natural Area and the North Country Trail. There are three bedrooms and a bathroom in the upstairs area and there is a pull out futon in the basement level that is very comfortable (the futon mattress has springs). The Dining area looks out over the deck to the River. There are no neighbors to the east of the house and State Land is directly across the River, leaving this spot secluded and quiet. We also have a new hot tub on the deck along the river and we can't wait to host you!
We loved our stay. We spent a lot of time
Playing in the backyard. Once in a while we would dip our feet in the river. The host was very communicative and friendly. Overall, it was a lovely family vacation.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Boardman River house! The backyard river access was a huge plus and the house was clean and cozy. Communication with the owners was easy and the house was stocked with everything we needed. We'll definitely be back!
Upon arrival, the house seem to be in nice working order. When showering downstairs, most shower head holes clogged. I cleaned with vinegar to get a flow. We brought all kinds of outdoor games for the big yard, but could not play out there because of all of the anthills throughout the property. Upstairs, the three bedrooms had fans and only one had a portable air conditioner. Temperatures were in the 80s at night and the one air conditioner upstairs did not work. We notified the owner the following day. She said she would come by And get a new air conditioner. Night number two same issue no AC we cleaned all the filters that were covered in buildup. Night 3, it rained ⊠inside the basement. The owner came, left came back, cleaned with the wet back and towels until 1 AM. At which time she stated she was going to refund our entire amount because of the trouble. Still no new AC, but the fourth night was much cooler. We stripped the beds, cleaned everything as much as we could upon departure and when I reached out about a refund, she was going to give me 1/10 of the amount that I paid for the four nights. I asked for 1/3 of my money back because we did stay there, although we were quite miserable. Why would someone offer a full refund to later say most Vrbo owners wouldnât give anything.
Thank you for a great trip! Wonderful house for our family with 3 kids (3, 5 and 7yo). Plenty of space, well stocked, and a fabulous backyard with a swing, hot tub, river (kids could play in the river!), fire pit and a lot of space to run around. The beds were comfortable, the owner thoughtfully stocked staples, games, books, etc. Less than 10 minutes drive in either direction takes you to hiking areas that are beautiful and perfect for kids. We went rafting down the Manistee River, hiking in Sleeping Bear Dunes. Traverse City is 20 minute drive North and the beaches there are easy to access with easy parking. The playground at the Civic Center is great.
Awesome yard and location, being on the river was amazing. The wife described the house as adorable. The Kitchen was very roomy with more variety of cooking supplies than most rentals.
We rented this house for a girls weekend and it was amazing! The fire pit and hot tub were so relaxing and views of the river were stunning. All of the personal touches and amenities in the house far exceeded our expectations in a rental. Luette, the host, was extremely pleasant and attentive and very prompt with answering all my questions. We would definitely visit the âriver houseâ, as we called it, again!
My husband and I love to fix up houses and then rent them. We own a variety of short and long term rentals in the Traverse City area. We currently own five properties that we short term rent and help others host three others. We love The TC area and can't wait to share it with you!
