Nous sommes des hôtes locaux avec 20 ans d'expérience et plus de 40 avis. Confiez-nous vos vacances!

Beechwood est une charmante maison de 4 lits / 3 salles de bain nichée sur plus de deux acres donnant sur Denning Brook. La région du ruisseau Denning est un lieu d'alimentation et de nidification pour de nombreux oiseaux indigènes, notamment le pygargue à tête blanche, le balbuzard pêcheur, le grand héron bleu, le pic et des centaines d'oiseaux chanteurs.

En entrant dans la maison, vous êtes accueilli par un plan d'étage ouvert avec un plafond voûté en bois dur. Les portes françaises jumelles vous attirent immédiatement vers la grande terrasse surplombant le ruisseau Denning et sa faune abondante. La salle à manger et le salon, avec puits de lumière, créent un espace confortable pour toute la famille. Attaché est une cuisine entièrement équipée avec table de petit déjeuner.

La suite principale en bas avec un lit queen a une salle de bain privée avec une baignoire jacuzzi. Une deuxième chambre en bas dispose d'un lit double et salle de bain complète avec une laveuse / sécheuse. A l'étage, une deuxième chambre «principale» avec lit queen, une chambre avec deux lits jumeaux et une salle de bain complète le plan d'étage. Une charmante terrasse débordant de fleurs, un barbecue à gaz et des sièges à l'extérieur est l'endroit idéal pour observer les oiseaux au coucher du soleil sur le ruisseau Denning. La grande pelouse privée est parfaite pour les jeux de pelouse ou la lecture.

Clean. Well supplied. Location is perfect. It is close to the primary attractions and towns and the Park is right there. However, it is far enough from the crowds to give a feeling of seclusion.

Easy check-in. Very well stocked kitchen. Great location on the quiet, less crowded side of Mt Desert. Southwest Harbor just down the road and an easy drive to enter Acadia or go into Bar Harbor to shop or eat. Jen was a delight to deal with; she answered all my questions promptly.

Wonderful fall weekend

We had a wonderful fall weekend at the Sunny Saltbox. Perfectly located for enjoying both the quiet side of the island and the busy side. Very comfortable accommodations, which were perfect for family.

House was spotless and generously stocked with everything we could need. We especially appreciated the well-organized and labeled kitchen. Property management could not have been more responsive. When we needed a tutorial on using the dryer, help showed up right away, the day before 4th of July! Central location perfect for exploring the island and layout of house flexible to accommodate our extended-family party. Thank you for an excellent stay!

The property was absolutely perfect for our needs as a family of 7.

This house was stocked with everything you might need on vacation! And the location was great as well. We loved the back yard and watching for wildlife. We got to see a raccoon! We would definitely stay here again.

We were impressed with the service provided by Mountain Sea Properties. They were very prompt in answering queries and providing all the relevant information before our trip. Beautiful home, fully outfitted to make your visit to Acadia easy

This is a lovely home, with up to date and comfortable mattresses. It is fully appointed with pots, pans and all the cooking items you could possibly need. Perfect for our family group, made our visit to the National Park easy and very comfortable.

Perfect MDI Retreat

Beechwood is perfectly located—15 min to Bar Harbor and 15 min to Bass Harbor. We liked being on the “quiet side” of the island easy access to Acadia house is a home, with all the amenities we needed, including extra towels for our Echo ledges adventure.

Oh the ledges are a great swimming spot! Beechwood is located just two miles from three (if not more) of the best freshwater swimming areas and one ocean swimming area. Beechwood is so centrally located that any area of Acadia National Park that you would want to explore is never more than 10 or 15 min away.

Great house for spending time on Mount Desert

This house was perfect for our two families. We had 4 young teen agers and 4 adults and enough room for all of us. Great location to be able to experience all that there is to see and do. The house is very well maintained and comfortable. Jen is wonderful to deal with. All the local books/brochures on hikes and history of the area were a welcome addition and well used by us. We loved every moment there.

Home away from home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beechwood. The view from the deck each morning of the fall colors and misty fog layer was truly memorable. As promised, the home was cozy and comfortable, a place to relax and recharge after a day in Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. We found the location to be close to the park, restaurants, and shops, but also off the main road just enough to provide quiet surroundings. The kitchen had everything we needed to make some simple meals. All in all, it was a great place for us to stay.

Lovely Hide-a-way

The home was just as described and worked out perfectly for our (extended) family of 6. plus our dog. There was no shortage of amenities and we enjoyed gathering around the huge table for meals and board games. The property is close to many park entrances, grocery stores, and is a short car ride to Bar Harbor. Just off a main street, the home itself is secluded and on a quiet road. We enjoyed the deck as well. All-in-all a great place to stay when visiting beautiful Arcadia. :-)

Great property for a family vacation

The house looked just like the pictures and was clean, well stocked and well maintained. We loved the deck in the back overlooking the marsh especially in the shady mornings. The grill was great and the kitchen had all the dishes and utensils needed for a crowd. Loved the air conditioning because the upstairs bedrooms could get hot at night. The manager of the property was outstanding and always responded promptly. They also had a good website. We would love to return again next year.

Well stocked and in good condition

We rented this house over the Memorial Day long weekend, with another family; four adults, two kids and a baby fit very comfortably. Everything was clean and in good condition, and the place was well stocked - even the kitchen and bathrooms. There was a huge grill on the patio in great shape, and even the knives in the kitchen were sharp. Communication with Jen was easy and she was very helpful with info. You should have no reservations about renting this place.

Cute house, clean, great location.

The home was great, with the exception of the beds being too hard for each adult in our family. However, bed firmness is subjective. Enjoyed the deck a great deal, as well as the grill. We utilized the grocery service Mountain Sea Properties offered and we're very happy we did. Worth every penny! A visit to Beal's Lobster Pier is a must! Thanks to Jen at Mountain Sea Properties for the recommendation.

Pleasant and/but Homey

The property was very nice - we were grateful that it was available during early summer. The house was homey - not resort-like, and as advertised. We felt that there could have been more, and more comfortable indoor furniture (sofas, recliners, etc.) for a house that could possibly accommodate 8 people. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed, but not spacious - again, homey. We were not dissatisfied at all, but also not "pleasantly surprised" as we have been at some other properties.

We do our very best to make sure a property is as honestly represented as possible so there are no surprises upon arrival. Mount Desert Family Get Away

This is really a charming place that says "Maine" all over it! At first I wasn't sure about the location as its about a 15 or 20 minute drive from Bar Harbor. But it turned out to be perfect as Bar Harbor turned out to be incredibly busy and congested with traffic. So this location was really peaceful and offered easy access to Acadia National Park. It also offered the opportunity to discover the west side of Somes sound. There is some really great hiking there and the nearby town of Southwest Harbor is absolutely charming. The house itself is well appointed and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The communication with the manager was also fabulous as the day before our arrival a storm had knocked out power to the area. So we were well apprised of what was going on ahead of check out. I would certainly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

Perfect for our family

We stayed here as part of a family vacation with my husband, mother, sister, and aunt. My mother has an ankle injury so it was great to find a house with bedrooms and bathrooms on the main level, and easy entry through the front door. It was equipped with everything we needed, including some games and puzzles, and we especially appreciated having a washer & dryer. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. When we couldn’t find a tea kettle, she brought us one within half an hour The house is centrally located on the island so very easy to get to Acadia, Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor, or off the island, but in a nice quiet area. We were glad we decided to stay here rather than in Bar Harbor. Only a few minor quibbles. Some of the bedroom & bathroom windows don’t have curtains or blinds, and there aren’t enough places to hang towels. There is only enough comfortable seating for 5 people in the living area, so it might be awkward for a larger group. Oh, and a few unwelcoming spiders when we first arrived, including one that built a web across the front door. Overall, the house worked well for us and we would definitely consider staying there again if we return to MDI.

What a gem of a place and of a property manager!

We were so lucky to come across Mountain Sea Properties and the property Beechwood. We were out of electricity (for days!) and Jen had Beechwood open for our use. We were able to move in, get warm, catch up on laundry, cook meals, and finally feel at home, even though it was a home away from home. What a respite! The house was super clean, beds made, and towels laid out! Everything was there you could ever need including local guide sheets/maps, dishes, games, and books. The location on the island is perfect- 15 min from the bustle of Bar Harbor and 10 min from the quaint South West Harbor. The House was super cozy, yet roomy enough for our family, and could have easily accommodated more. Jen was amazing to get us in on such a strange schedule and was so amenable, warm, and the perfect host- there when needed, but left us alone when we were doing our own thing. She even came by to check on the hot water heater right before bedtime when we had troubles getting hot showers (a minor problem because of the generator use). All was fixed in no time! I wish we could have been able to stay for longer, and extend the staycation to enjoy all of which Mountain Sea Properties has to offer, so many extras available like- guided hikes, grocery delivery, and full luxe packages! Jen is so organized and useful, a true gem of the island. We were thrilled to utilize Mountain Sea Properties and hope to take advantage of their incredible properties again in the future. We highly recommend them without hesitation!

Indeed Mount Desert Island experienced an unusual wind storm that left some without power for an extended period. We were more than happy to help out in any way that we could and were able to move this local family with young kids into the Beechwood home until their home was safe and comfortable to move back into. Our philosophy is that a business is not just a means to support one's own family, but it's an opportunity (I would go so far as to say, it's an obligation!) to be a positive change agent in the community and for it's customers. We take that obligation seriously giving financially back to the local community, helping to facilitate customers (and our own staff) to engage in local community service, and perhaps most importantly, helping support you, our guests and tenants, to have quality time with friends and family so that you can return home renewed and refreshed to help bring positive change back in your own home communities. I find it truly an honor to do this work and am grateful for the ability to do so. Perhaps we will be able to host you and your family at the Beechwood home sometime soon. - Jen

I rented this property for friends/family to enjoy during the MDI marathon and to explore beautiful Acadia National Park. The home had all the necessary amenities, a great location, and was spacious for a large group.

Nice location.

The location was perfect. We were just a few miles from everything. We enjoyed being out in the woods. The stars were amazing. The house itself was nice but we felt it could have been a little cleaner. We removed several cobwebs.

Family fun in Maine

The property was clean and exactly what we expected. Bedroom and bathroom set up was perfect for 4 adults and 1 baby. 2 of us traveled solo, so you could easily add spouses and still be comfortable. The location is excellent. Easy drive to hike in Acadia and sight see all over the island. Only 15 mins to Bar Harbor for shopping, and eating! I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful views off back deck

This is a charming and spacious home with 4 comfy bedrooms. The views of the marsh off the back deck were beautiful and peaceful and a wonderful place to enjoy an early morning coffee. There were lots of amenities from spices to kids games and they provided plenty of information on the area. We truly enjoyed our stay! The location is also very convenient to accessing the whole island. Thank you for sharing your property with us!

Great house

This was perfect for your 2 families visiting ACADIA NATIONAL PARK. The property is as it looks in the pictures. Everything functioned properly and location was perfect.

About Mountain Sea Properties:

Adam and Jen have a deep love and understanding of the natural beauty surrounding the Acadia/Mount Desert Island area. Jen grew up summers on Long Pond and Adam on a 110-acre farm in Western Maine adjoining the Appalachian Trail. They met here in Bar Harbor working as sea kayak guides in the summer of 1993.

Over the years, they have hiked, biked, paddled, and sailed every conceivable route on and around Mount Desert. Adam completed his goal of hiking every trail on the Island in the summer of 1994 and Jen authored The Sea Kayaker's Guide to Mount Desert Island published by Down East Books in 1997. Together they paddled the Maine Island Trail, a 175-mile 28-day kayaking trip from Portland to Machias, up the entire Maine coastline.

In the summer of 2000, Jen and Adam started Mountain Sea Properties with a single house, Eagle Cliff, where they were married that same summer. The owner had approached them expressing her frustration renting the home through larger rental operations on the island. She complained that her house was one of hundreds represented so the service she received was minimal. She also stated that those who rented the house were not as well informed as they could be. The tenants were also one of hundreds and the service they received was minimal.

Adam and Jen offered to represent the house committing to providing top quality service to both owners and tenants by representing a limited number of houses and providing personalized vacation services.

Since then, Mountain Sea Properties has grown along with the Wales family. As year-round members of the Island’s community, Adam and Jen are dedicated to the vitality of the people of Mount Desert Island. Thus, each year they donate a portion of their proceeds to local organizations devoted to sustaining the beauty and well-being of the Mount Desert Island area.
