Quiet, cool basement apartment near CU Boulder in a friendly neighborhood. Three bedrooms with comfy beds and a spacious living area. One bathroom, small kitchenette. Perfect for 3 people.
We are so grateful for our stay. It was our home base while visiting family. It is a quick drive to NCAR and Chautauqua for hiking and exploring. There is a park a couple blocks away with a playground and large grassy area to play. When we were leaving, my kids were asking if we can stay there for our next visit. If it's available, we will request it.Thank you to our hosts including Judy the dog.
Four of us stayed at this lovely spot in Boulder. It was exactly what we were looking for, it was clean had everything we needed. Quiet, beds were comfortable, Judy the dog was very nice. The hosts explanned everything, they were available if we needed anything, most importantly there were no surprises when we arrived. It was very lovely.
We enjoyed our stay in this very comfortable spot. Max was very accomadating and helpful and we found it to be a very good place to camp for a few days.
Great stay and location! Perfect amount of space with a large and comfy couch. Loved the backyard space with multiple hang zones (fire pit, outdoor dining, and hot tub). Good communication with the host and easy to check in.
Very nice place- the family was skeptical about a basement âapartmentâ but it was perfect for us. Plenty of room and the hosts puts a lot of effort into making it nice and comfortable. We highly recommend!
Myself and 3 friends flew in from Ohio for a wedding. This place was perfect. The best part was the owners were extremely responsive. They went above and beyond. I would highly recommend this place.
We visited for CU Boulder's family weekend with our 16 year old. There was plenty of room and it was a great location in a lovely neighborhood. Thanks so much!
We loved staying here. Even though the hosts live upstairs, the apartment is very private. It is in the lower level, but with the windows it doesn't feel like a basement. We loved having use of the backyard and it was an easy walk to a park with trails. The hosts were very nice and easy to work with. And if you are missing your dog on vacation, Judy is a lovely substitute!
We were so happy to have a cozy place to stay while we were preparing for our wedding! I thank the hosts, Max and Laura, for allowing the bridesmaids to spend the night before the wedding with the bride! The rest of the time allowed us to escape the wedding chaos and spend some quiet and cozy time with our 9 month old son. Having such a peaceful place to stay allowed for our crazy weekend to flow smoothly. Wish we couldâve met Judy!
I stayed here with my husband, mom and 1 year old daughter while visiting some family in Denver. We loved how spacious the place was and we felt very relaxed and at home there. The hot tub was a great touch too!
Very convenient location on the way into Boulder from Denver, right next to the turnpike. Super easy to park and access the unit. Unit is quiet, clean, and did the trick for our family of four!
Our family spent a wonderful week touring Boulder and the front range. Max & Laura's house was a comfortable home base where we could cook some meals and head out on our adventures. Relaxing with Judy in the back yard was a great way to end our days. Thank you for being such great hosts. We would definitely stay here again!
My family had a very nice stay in Boulder, my only issue was that we were not warned about the dog being loose in the backyard that is the only access to the door (awkward entering a yard with a big dog we didnât know). The dog (Judy) was very friendly and the kids had a blast playing with her tho! The inside was very clean and cozy. Our family would definitely stay again!
Our hosts were great to my friends and I. We were able to check in a little early. We are not used to the cold temperature so they made it more comfortable in the area. All of the pictures matched up, and everything was very clean. I'd recommend these hosts, and if I come back I'll look to book them again.
This is about as nice as a basement apartment can be. The host is a photographer, so it's covered in epic photos. The one bedroom is in the entranceway, so somebody is basically sleeping in a pass-thru area but it wasn't a big deal for us. There are dogs but they're nice. Plenty of parking on the street. The backyard was a little worse for wear and some dog toys out and about to step over. Host was communicative and easy to get along with. I think there was a high chair and maybe a pack-and-play in the closet, but dont quote me on that, my kids are older now...
My wife, two daughters and I needed a place to stay in Boulder while visiting my son who goes to CU. Laura and Max have a nice set up in the basement of their home. Located in a nice quiet neighborhood in Boulder. Easy private access. Very clean. The hot tub and patio was a bonus as we had it all to ourselves the entire stay. Finally, their dog Judy, a German Shorthair, was my girlsâ favorite. She came out her doggie door to greet us whenever she heard us coming or going. Very friendly. So was her friend Sully who was there a couple days. A very pleasant stay which we will most likely book again.
Itâs a very pleasant place to stay. Itâs comfortable and homey.
Pay attention to the welcome gate photo (23 as of this writing). This is your entrance â itâs off to the side and actually facing the cross street, i.e., easy to miss in the dark if youâre just following your GPS. There is also some metal frogs and a wooden wagon next to the gate, if I recall correctly.
One quirk is that the entry door is in the 3rd bedroom (with the pair of twin beds), so planning for who sleeps where will need to take this into account.
There is a public park within easy walking distance.
Finally, Judy the dog is an absolute delight. While she will indeed bark when you first enter the yard, and sheâs right up with you rather than behind a fence, for us this was very brief and friendly-type rather than angry-type barking. After that sheâs very mellow and friendly. Sheâll often come out to play if you call her from the yard. There was also a second dog, equally mellow, that came by for play dates on the mornings we were there. Overall Iâd say if you are a dog person, Judy is a huge plus for the property, and if you are not a dog person, Judy is neutral at worst and may cause you to become a dog person.
