Home is extremely clean and we'll appointed. Host is warm, communicates well and maintains a hassle free check-in and check out. Would gladly stay again in the future.

Wonderful Apartment

This little 2 better basement apartment was wonderful. They had it fully stocked and thought of everything that made you feel at home. We had to find a place to stay while my husband made an emergency trip home. This was a perfect oasis for my kids and me to regroup and rest. There is so much to do close by. I highly recommend. All the little special touches were noticed. Great place if you like to walk or bike. Nice park within walking distance. I really enjoyed the trail!

Rifugio is a reflection of Matteo’s love for nature and community. This cozy apartment was thoughtfully designed within his home to welcome visiting friends and family, and it’s occasionally shared with guests who, like Matteo and his family, appreciate the breathtaking beauty of Colorado’s outdoors. Hosting allows us to share our space and passion for this incredible area while helping to cover expenses.

Nestled in Superior, Colorado, it offers easy access to Boulder’s vibrant culture and Denver’s metropolitan amenities while maintaining the quiet, close-knit feel of a small community. One of the biggest draws for us was the incredible trail network right outside our door, allowing us to hike, bike, and explore the stunning Colorado outdoors without needing to drive. The area is safe, family-friendly, and surrounded by breathtaking scenery, making it an ideal location for anyone seeking both adventure and relaxation.

Rifugio is a unique apartment located within a house that was thoughtfully rebuilt after the Marshall Fire with a focus on climate resilience, health, and sustainability. The home is the only rebuild in the area constructed from fireproof compressed earth blocks, designed to withstand the changing climate while blending strength with natural aesthetics. Inside, every element prioritizes well-being, from hemp insulation and low/no-VOC paint to non-toxic flooring and furniture, creating a space that is as healthy as it is comfortable.

The apartment shares the benefits of the home’s cutting-edge features, including ERVs (Energy Recovery Ventilators) for continuous fresh air and solar power that makes the house not just net-zero but net-negative—producing more energy than it consumes. Rifugio was created to be a welcoming retreat for guests while showcasing a model of how homes can be designed for safety, health, and sustainability in harmony with the environment.
