Gratitude Inn - Pacific Grove House - Downtown - Close to Beach
Walk around the corner to cafes, restaurants, and shopsâor head to the ocean and Loverâs Point cove a few blocks away. Thereâs a lot to be grateful for in this historic home in downtown Pacific Grove. A former event venue, it has multiple living areas on the first floor, including a den with books and games; a large dining room; a commercial kitchen; two side-by-side powder rooms; and a spacious patio with an outdoor fireplace. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one Queen and two doubles) along with one full bath (tub, walk-in shower, and separate toilet compartment).  Driveway parking. Pacific Grove Transient Use License #0461
Aptly named, the gratitude in was the perfect respite for my family and I ( 6 adults) to enjoy Fatherâs Day. Will have to try the many local restaurants some other time because we fell in love with the kitchen and enjoyed meal prep and breakfast in the spacious dining room most nights.
Will definitely consider gratitude for my next stay in the area.
My family and I just returned home from an amazing stay at the Grattitude Inn at Pacific Cove. The location could not get any better it was a quick walk to the beach and you turned the corner and you were directly downtown. We were also so close to the farmers market that happens on Mondays. The place was clean and fully stocked. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back!
This is truly a great location and property. The property was exceedingly clean and large enough for my family to have space. We enjoyed the beautiful kitchen. Overall, a very good experience.
We really enjoyed our time at this property. It has everything we needed for a family friendly stay. The back deck, surround sound music, and easy walks to beach and dining make this an excellent choice. The construction is loudâ but evenings are quiet and it didnât bother us at all!
We stayed here including my wife, two year old, and my mother and it was a fantastic setup for everyone. The place is spacious and has a wonderful patio with gas fireplace out back The location couldnât be better in Pacific Grove since everything is so walkable. Weâll try and get this house again next time weâre back in the area.
This was a former restaurant so the kitchen was amazing (for us non-professional chefs!) The location is nice, just a couple blocks from Lover's Cove (we scuba!). Noise wasn't too bad despite construction site across the street. Some fixtures need repair, bulbs replaced etc. but overall very nice. We would book again!
My family of 5 (3 young kids) loved staying here. We came down for Cali Roots and wanted something spacious, somewhat affordable and close to the beach. The kitchen is a former commercial kitchen of some sort and was absolutely amazing to cook in. Cozy backyard deck. Cozy indoors with big spacious dinner table. Comfortable beds. Bathrooms and shower and bath were great. Super quiet neighborhood. Code lock on the door was very convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay and would come back again!
FYI, when we arrived a dinning room chair back was broken, half of the upstairs window shades were broken and one fell down, bathtub was dirty, half of the lights did not work.
Everything listed about the property is accurate! The construction across the narrow street is not too bad at all. But parking is sparse! Only real parking is on the driveway, which can fit one car. Excellent location! The kitchen is bomb! Library nook is really cool.
Things to just be aware of before you goâŠ
There is only one shower, as disclosed, and the water is very low flow, which is a bit annoying. Also thereâs only ONE TV in the whole house, so if you like your TV time, this isnât the ideal place for you.
The windows all seem to be painted shut, which is inconvenient, but not a total deal breaker.
But if you can get past those two things, this place is awesome!
I would stay here again.
When we first stumbled upon this house on Vrbo it seemed almost too good to be true. It was a girls trip we had planned and thought there was a catch! Everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Michelle is the most thoughtful, and pleasant host. She provided us with all the information we needed doing our stay. The house is really comfortable, cozy, extremely clean and antique. The kitchen is commercial style with the cutest sitting nook and contains everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were also equipped with everything. Iâm a tickler for towels and was so impressed with the high quality towels and bed linen that we were provided. We all felt like we were in our own home. The washer/dryer were high end and was such a convenient to return home with clean clothes we washed the towels we used daily. The outside patio area was cozy, the lights made the ambience even nicer while sipping on our wine.
We walked and toured Pacific Grove which had such amazing shops and restaurants especially(Aliottiaâs Victoria Corner) if you decide to eat there please ask for the server LEXIE she provided PHENOMENAL service, Winstonâs, Beach House Restaurant at Lovers Point and The Red House Cafe. The beach was gorgeous. We stayed (5) days went to Carmel by the Sea had brunch at Clint Eastwoodâs restaurant the âMission Ranchâ did the 17 Mile drive, went to Pebble Beach, the Monterey Jazz Festival. If I could give more than (5) stars I definitely would have.
This house is better than the pictures show! It was roomy and cozy at the same time. The kitchen is a dream and the music system was a great bonus. We spent hours around the outside fireplace enjoying the cool weather and card games. The house is located 15 yards to the shops and restaurants of Pacific Grove. And we could see the ocean from the sidewalk in front of the house. We look forward to the next time we get to stay here again!
We are so happy that we found the Gratitude Inn for our recent Labor Day getaway in the Monterey Bay! The house is in a wonderful location, close to everything that you could want to do in the area, with shops and restaurants steps from the front door. We had everything we needed and more at this house that had modern amenities, all while keeping the home's vintage charm. Incredibly comfortable beds, a commercial style kitchen for any culinary adventure, an amazing library for reading and enjoying your morning coffee (I also did yoga here and it was perfect!). It was truly a wonderful stay! Thank you!
We had a great stay at this charming historic home. It was very clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed to cook basic meals, do laundry, etc. The location was super convenient, walking distance to Lover's Beach and the beach trail.
While I want to be clear that this is a lovely house, and we very much enjoyed our stay here, there are some things to be aware of: it's directly across the street from a construction site, where they're building a large commercial building. Noise and privacy weren't problems for us, but don't expect a quiet residential neighborhood. The bathroom light switches are odd, my kids weren't able to work the lights during our entire stay, so we were constantly helping turn lights on and off. And finally, the kitchen is enormous and well-equipped, but it's a commercial kitchen so some things are a bit strange, like the open drain under the sink that splashes your feet! (Which my kids thought was hilarious, of course.)
All that said, the home was clean, comfortable, and very convenient to everything we wanted to do. We had a lovely stay, thank you!
Perfect for a larger group that wants to have their own space but still be able to gather and spend time in community together. We were able to easily walk to so many different tourist locations. House amenities and space are amazing and we loved our stay. Only issue was there was so many flies on the patio that we were not able to go out there at all.
