About Villa Joie de Vivre:

Nestled within 4 acres of prime beachfront on beautiful Baie Rouge, Joie de Vivre is a multi-level 3 bedroom villa set in lush tropical gardens with a superb ocean backdrop.

The Mediterranean feel of the house with its cool white arches and warm terracotta hues are beautifully framed by the turquoise waters of the bay. The villa has a picturesque flower-lined path to the beach and a large classic pool with terracotta tiled terrace and stylish poolside lounging. A comfortable poolside gazebo provides shaded lounging and a BBQ area.

Upper levels house the main living spaces including an elegant outside lounge with ceiling fans and a fabulous panoramic view over the ocean and the nearby island of Anguilla. An arched balcony runs the length of this level opening out from a dining and living area and a large, well-equipped mahogany kitchen with generous counter space and a central island.

The 3 air-conditioned bedrooms each have king-size beds, satellite TVs, ceiling fans and elegant en-suite bathrooms. Other amenities include a stereo sound system throughout the villa and wifi.

We had a great time in our villa, and enjoyed the experience very much. Our housekeeper, Cassandra, was amazing and a highlight of the trip. It was a great property for us, as our kids are old enough to handle the separate suites on multiple floors, but this would have been a challenge with younger children. The beach was beautiful, although more rocky than I expected, but this did not cause us any problem. It was also nice to have a local beach bar just a few hundred yards away. Also, it is always a nice day when you can wake up and see Anguilla out of your bedroom window! Our biggest concern would be the safety and security in this area. We did not have a problem, but there were several serious incidents in the week before we arrived and during our stay. The town of Marigot did not feel safe, and I would not want to be there after dark, and I would not let my wife or kids off the property without an escort.

Joie de Vivre is a beautiful villa with great views, beach access and friendly staff. The only downs

Joie de Vivre is a beautiful villa with great views, beach access and friendly staff. The only downside was the mosquitoes. That may have been time of year or that they just got rain after 5 months, not sure but they were bad. We really enjoyed all the different lounging areas around the villa and the grounds are amazing. Really was a great place to stay.
