Beautiful 4800sqft Year-round log cabin on a clear unobstructed view lakefront lot with 200ft shoreline and 2 docks. Public boat ramp 600 feet from doorstep. Unload your toys and drive them up to your private shoreline docks.

Very low-key private road with only several homes on the road. Enjoy the serenity of the lake from the back yard fire pit to the oversized porch with a morning cup of coffee. There is fishing, swimming, water skiing, hunting, snowmobiling, ice fishing, ice-skating, four wheeling, bicycling, trail walking or just hang out in the big backyard playing horseshoes, volleyball, corn hole, croquet, Frisbee, sunbathing, cookouts just to name a few.

Enjoy the beautiful sunrises, seeing the bald Eagles, hearing the sound of the Loons.

The home itself offers 5 bedrooms,.3 bathrooms, well equipped Kitchen, a small gym, and a bar area with games to keep everyone entertained (shuffleboard, bowling, Foosball, darts, arcade Pac man, bumper pool/poker table). Looking for a quiet area? How about enjoying our Library with many styles of books to choose from with cozy chairs and blankets to curl up in. Or maybe just hang out together in the great room with the warm cozy wood stove.

Our guest will receive a STARTER set of essentials. We do our best to make sure your arrival goes smoothly. The supplies will not last you a full week.

When we arrived we were greeted by Michelle and James (they were so nice) showed us around, even grabbed us some wood on their way up! Probably nicest people we’ve ever rented from. The house was awesome our group travels every new year looking just to cook and hang out, this house was perfect! Kids loved sledding down the hill on side of house and making snow angels on the frozen lake.The kitchen was fully stocked there was folding chairs , a folding table high chairs. We spent the evenings in the living room watching movies by the wood stove while guys hung out shooting darts in basement. Bedrooms were roomy and lots of extra blankets pillows etc. I honestly don’t think there’s anything that we were missing here. We loved our stay and will DEF be returning thank you Michelle and James for sharing your home with us!

Lovely place on the water with rustic charm. Super friendly landlords. Great for watersports as they have many watercrafts available! The two basement bedrooms are nicely cool, the upstairs room with bunk beds was the queen-dom of the teenagers. Well stocked kitchen made feeding everyone a breeze.

Book this house, you won’t be disappointed!From the moment you walk in you will feel at home,The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need (minus a dishwasher) we use paper plates with so many of us, so it isn’t something we miss.The living room is wonderful for hanging out and for movie nights together. It is so cozy I want to come back in the winter to enjoy the beautiful wood burning stove!The dining area meets our needs for eating together as a family and for our game nights, with another table right around the corner in the amazing porch area if any overflow.From pretty much every room except from the back bedrooms you get a beautiful view of the water.The bedrooms are always a problem when searching for our annual vacation rental and happy to say that this one fits us all perfectly! They are all decorated so beautifully, as is the whole house, but the master bedroom is my favorite. (Lucky me that this is my room)The downstairs bar area is a fun hangout spot, and for anyone who likes to workout there is gym area that got some good use this week.3 bathrooms is an absolute bonus.I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed the back yard, From hanging on the dock, floating in the lake, paddle boarding and kayaking, and dinners outside.The sunrises never disappointed.We love this house and will be returning next year!Thank you Michelle and James for sharing your house with us, and for the quick responses whenever I had a question.

Clearly not ready to be rented for the season

Overall the location was nice. But the owners have a list of things that should have been completed prior to starting the rental process for the season.It was not as clean as expected, porch and outside chairs were either broken or in need of repair. Some electrical covers were not in place when we arrived.One dimmer switch was hot to the touch. Owner acknowledged he was aware and has it on his list to replace.Owner was there when we arrived and had issues with completing work required and took 45 minutes to empty his items from the frig and other areas.Had water in downstairs basement bedroom on night two. Very musty smelling. Owner did come and remediate the issue, but this is something that should be addresses permanently before being rented.Very friendly hosts but I would hesitate to book until all issues are addressed.

Beautiful setting, fantastic house

This house was amazing and perfect for our group of friends for the weekend. Everything was as pictured or even better. Takes a bit to get there but well worth it. Loved everything in the house and wished we had more time to enjoy it all. My favorite was sitting out on the dock looking at the view and just relaxing. The hosts were very helpful and responsive. Lots of amenities and very comfortable even for a bigger group without feeling too crowded. Would love to stay again!

Great family gathering

Overall we were very pleased with our stay. The kids had a blast being able to all be in one bedroom. Space was amazing. I would state that for a house this size (close to 5,000 sq. ft.) there should really be a couple of dehumidifiers in the lower level of the home. Especially since there is a lot of rugs. Also a house this size could use another set of hands with the cleaning.

Family Trip

Our Family had an awesome time at Michelle and James VRBO. It was exactly as described and more. The house was beautiful, James and Michelle greeted our family and made sure we knew how to utilize the heat and any extra items in the house. They were very thorough and answered any questions. VERY Accommodating and genuinely wanted to make sure we were comfortable with everything. The children loved the downstairs area of games and activities. The scenery was just beautiful!! This was a winter family get away....the frozen pond was perfect for the children to play (still be careful, it was solid where we were!) It was close to MTN Gorge for tubing and ~two hours from Ice Castles. We stayed mostly in the home as it was a family bonding time and a great place to play family games. The great room with fire place was awesome and the views from all areas breath taking. We really appreciated the fact that they did not skimp on leaving quality towels for all family members to utilize in the bathrooms and kitchen. The washer and dryer were very helpful and leaving some laundry soap allowed us to throw on the wash and leave some clean towels before we left. We appreciated the advance knowledge of no dishwasher-we brought disposables which worked out great for the family. We would DEFINITELY consider a summer vacation as we were told the lake/pond are swimmable and able to do water activities there. We would even returning for a winter get away in the future. Great New Years Eve

We had a great long weekend to close out 2023! The house was amazing with a great wood stove, extra comfy couches and plenty of reading options for the adults. The basement with shuffleboard, pop a shot basketball and pacman was where the kids spent all their time(other than eating around the table and by the fire pit). The hosts were very thorough with their instructions at check in. Only adventure was getting to the house on the muddy road(which the hosts warned us about earlier in the week). It added some excitement arriving and gave us more reason to just enjoy the house. Highly recommend even in the winter(tubing is just 30 mins away at Granite Gorge). It was a great way to end 2023 and ring in 2024!

Amazing family vacation

This house is perfect for a large family vacation. Everything about it fit our needs. Comfortable and beautiful to boot! We are all about being together, hanging out and playing games. The openness of the main area floor plan gave us that. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would ever need. Everyone was so happy with the bedrooms. Our favorite part of staying here was the time we spent hanging out on the dock and floating around in the water. The paddle boards and kayaks were a pleasant bonus. I would recommend this house to anyone And we are looking forward to coming back next year! Thank you Michelle and James!

Peace on the Lake!!

We try to get together with family once a year and a lake vacation is our go-to destination. Mama Bear house was perfect!!! It has so many amenities that you cannot count. The lake is beautiful for swimming, boating, fishing and just hanging out. In bad weather the house is stocked with games, tv's and space!! Great for just being together. There is a boat, paddle board or canoe for everyone. More than you could ever need. The home also has a very well stocked kitchen. Just Bring food... It is a very quiet lake, which was perfect for our family of 12 to just enjoy the time away. Great Home!!!

Peaceful and relaxing

Comfortable house, on a wonderful body of water. The kids love the bunk beds! Owners are communicative and helpful. Plenty of things provided to amuse us on rainy days, and when the weather is good we can swim and kayak. Ashuelot has lots of nooks and crannies to explore, the wildlife is abundant, the fishing is excellent. There is a really sassy chipmunk living in the lawn, who stole apples and chips right at our feet. Love it.

A Momma Bear Hug

Lot's of bear motifs and a very outdoorsy feel on the inside. Still, very cozy and accommodating. The game room was a big hit for the teenagers. They spent most of their free time there. The couches in the living room were wondrously comfortable and a great place to snuggle down in front of the fire. Overall, the property is very well kept, a noticeable attention to detail and has much to offer. We are considering it for a larger family gathering over the summer.

Amazing!

My friends and I from high school are now in our mid-40s with kids and husbands but try to get away twice a year once in the winter and once in the summer this was the first time we stayed here and it was absolutely amazing!!! Michelle was so accommodating! Communication was open 100% of the time if we needed anything which we really didn’t everything that you could think of was already thought of by her. The spaces were clean, cozy and comfortable. There’s so much room for a group of people who wanted to do different things to move around the house... and still have plenty of privacy. All in all our stay was absolutely amazing and we intend on going back every year!!!

Cozy but spacious log home at the lake

We loved our stay at Mama Bear lodge! It was perfect for our group 8 adults, 4 teens) and we had a great time hiking, skiing, building fires, cooking, watching movies and enjoying time together. The house was clean and had everything you need, both in the kitchen as the bathrooms as the playroom and gym! We loved the festive decorations and Michelle (homeowner) was very responsive. Even doing the dishes together (there’s no dishwasher in the house) was a fun activity for some. If you are a tall crowd (like us) note that the beds are fairly small. Fortunately we all liked snuggling up. Alltogether, we’ve had a great time and would recommend this rental at the lake!

Our First All-Family Vacation with Lots of Memories!

This is an awesome property for family gatherings! We enjoyed lots of space to relax and roam around without being on top of one another. It was like walking into an Inn! The beds were quite comfortable for sleeping and the 3 bathrooms were a plus! The game room was a huge hit for all ages from 5-adult. Fishing was great and we loved having the 2 boat docks for continuous fishing and anchoring our boats! Life around the pond was so very quiet, bass fishing was great and the dirt road was great for the 6 mile workouts. The fire pit was the place to be for roasting marshmallows and enjoying each other’s company. Yummy ice cream was right around the corner! This place was so cozy! So much laughter and good times had by all! This was our first family vacation with 3 generations and we want to come back next year! We couldn’t have found a better place! Thank you Michelle and James for sharing your special place in paradise!
