A cozy and secluded cottage getaway... perfect for the smaller group or family. Hidden away in the trees, it gives you a quiet, private setting to sit outside by the fire, throw those steaks on the grill, or play yard games, or enjoy relaxing in the hot tub! Inside... brew a pot or french press of coffee and relax in the spacious living room, play games, and just enjoy the family together & get away from the TV… (a projector and wifi are supplied) Everything is sparkling clean and beds are comfy. There's a few books, games, & toys , foosball table & corn toss game for enjoying your time together. Its only 7.8 miles from the Massanutten ski resort! 5 miles from Merck & Co. So come relax and enjoy your quiet woodland setting away from the hustle an bustle, but just minutes away from the resort, skyline drive and hiking, the caverns, & university.

Wonderful Stay

Hillside Hideaway truly is a hidden gem! It was the perfect place for rest and relaxation after hiking in Shenandoah. The location is peaceful and quiet, with a beautiful back deck and hot tub for sore muscles. Inside is cozy, clean, and comfortable; a home away from home. My daughter and I loved our stay!

Perfect weekend getaway

Hillside hideaway was perfect! It’s in a great location to get into Shenandoah via the Swift Run entrance. Rhonda was an amazing host. Very attentive and responded to messages within 15 minutes. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to disconnect and relax.

Clean and Cute

This place was a perfect spot for our family to land after our hiking and biking adventures in the Shenandoah National Park and valley area. Everyone loved it! The bunk beds are probably better fit for smaller kids, smaller than our anyway:)

Great little place to stay. We missed the comment about unplugging from the TV as we didnt realize that there was no TV nor Internet until we got there. Luckily there was good cell reception as i did need to take a work meeting. Once that was over, we did unplug and had a good time. The restaurant recommendations were a nice touch too.

Beautiful Getaway

This home was tucked away giving us all the privacy we needed. The home looks exactly like the pictures. We were a little disappointed about no TV or wifi but the home is packed with so many fun things to do inside and outside that we didn't miss the TV or wifi one bit. The property manager answered when we called or texted us. Can't wait to go back money well spent.

Great ski weekend getaway

This property was EXACTLY what we needed. Cozy house with two queen bedrooms and auxiliary bunkbed for two in additional laundry/game/bed room. Baseboard heat and living room electric fireplace made it perfectly warm for us all during the winter weather we had while there, skiing at Massanutten Resort up the road. Big round kitchen table and thoroughly stocked kitchen with big Britta filter to drink filtered water, pots, pans, eating and cooking utensils, all needed appliances, towels and linens. And even further, very responsive, flexible and helpful host. pin code entry couldn't be any easier. This is a fairly new listing and Rhonda is very open to suggestions and improvements that they can make to the place for nicer stays and satisfaction. Thanks so much for opening up your hillside hideaway for our nice and relaxing stay! Highly recommend!

Decided to take a weekend girls trip- and this house did not disappoint! The house was very clean, and location was great! Used both the hot tub and fireplace outside- played games inside! Host was very attentive and friendly. Definitely recommend!

This is one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in. The owner was very responsive to questions before we arrived and checked to make sure everything was okay when we got there. It was clean and well stocked. They even provided firewood for the firepit on the great back patio. It had the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. All the furniture was comfortable. Would definitely go back.

The property was quite cozy, off the main road, and extremely peaceful. Sitting in the hot tub looking at stars was a great way to end the night. Located about 40 minutes from Lurray and a short drive to Massanutten leaves plenty of options for the whole family. The property seemed well maintained by the host and we felt welcome upon arrival. We will likely be back next year!

Peaceful Getaway

The house was immaculate upon arrival. Very surprising as it is nestled right into the woods so you would expect to be some bugs or dust/dirt from in and out of the doors. But, there was none. I loved the privacy of the location, but it was a short drive to everything. The outdoor space was really nicely set up and the hot tub is a great feature for the relaxing atmosphere we were looking for. Absolutely would recommend and will likely book again! My ONLY suggestion that would have made our perfect stay a bit better would be if there were a fenced area for the fur babies that tag along. Just so that they can safely enjoy the outdoor space with us without needing a leash.

JMU parents weekend

Well maintained home- clean and comfortable beds. Host was wonderful and helpful when needed. Worked great for us as a home base for JMU parents' weekend. Only cons for some people may be that it is on a gravel road and there is no TV.

Beautiful Quiet House

Cute, comfy little spot , but with no TV

The house was quaint and comfortable. The rooms were a nice size and it had a great kitchen. The outside area was cute too, but the grill definitely needed a good cleaning & the hot tub seemed like it needed an upgrade for a 10/10 listed property. It was a good central location to lots of things in the Shenandoah area. The lack of TV was a bit odd—I didn’t even notice it in the pictures because there was a cabinet, which I assumed housed a TV. It was my fault, but still…We booked during the Olympics and really missed being able to enjoy/watch those during our down time. It was a great place to bring a dog and a family, though, if you are looking to get away from it all.

We had a great stay at this house! We really enjoyed the amenities included, especially the fire pit, hot tub, and the games. The house was very clean and organized and we especially appreciated the s’mores kit the host provided.
