We had a great stay in Wells! So close to everything and the house is perfect. The deck is so nice to sit and read or people watch. I loved being able to walk to the Rollover Cafe for breakfast sandwiches. The beach is so close and it was perfect with the kids.

Excellent location

Lovely brand new unit directly across from the beach. Nice nights sitting on the deck listening to the waves. Plenty of bedrooms and 2 large bathrooms. Pretty views. Easy access to the beach…less than a minute walk. Highly recommend for families or friends looking for a getaway!

Great location and property. It's a 2 minute walk to the sand. Matt was a great host and everything was clean and well kept. Our only feedback is that the beds and sheets/comforters were not the greatest. We would still stay again, but the beds and bedding need to be improved and I suggest queen size mattresses vs full-size in the 2 larger bedrooms.

Loved this place!

My girlfriends and I (and our three kids under 2y/o) stars for thee nights and we loved it! Matt was so responsive and the place is exactly like the pictures - it was great! The location was amazing and don’t be deterred by the previous reviews - we are not “fancy” but really did have a great stay!

Fun place

This location is ideal for the beach and walking to the local restaurant Forbes. We rented both sides and found that it was nice for those who didn't want to stay up late and party on vacation. I would highly recommend this place.

Spacious cottage with ideal location

My family stayed at this cottage where there certainly was an abundance of room for everyone! It had all the amenities as listed and just steps to the ocean! We brought our dog which was an added bonus. We would love to return next year!

Great place to reconnect

This property has a great location for a family summer beach gathering. The double sided home allowed us to have multiple families stay comfortably, allowing the ideal mix of togetherness and privacy! Wells is a place my wife grew up visiting with her family and this place allowed us to introduce the magic to our kids!

Great family house to rent. Location was good.

Great house. The beach was directly across the street which was very convenient. Plenty of room and beds were nice and comfy. Would recommend renting . Lots of different restaurants in Wells, also short driving distance to Perkins cove in ogunquit. There is an arcade and playground that you can walk to for the children. Would recommend.

Beautiful Beach Front Home

This Wells Beach , Maine home is perfect, Lots of space , the two family makes getting away with a big family or friends comfortable for everyone. Walking right across the street to the beach is perfect. Very clean summer home. We will definitely stay here hopefully every summer, finally found the perfect place!!👏👏👏

Exactly what we needed!

Great little spot so close to the beach. We did a 7 friends “Ladies Weekend “ here and it was perfect. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable and everything we needed. And the beach is literally across the street. The owner is very responsive. The porch is so sunny and had plenty of room to hang out and relax! Highly recommend this location if you’re looking to enjoy close access to a great beach!

Last Hurrah

The photo you show of the building is premature. That building is to be built this fall. We stayed in the older duplex that is to be replaced. Hopefully, new build will be well maintained, furnished, and cleaned properly prior to guests arrival. Location is excellent. Walking distance to Forbes Restaurant and the Arcade. Close to beach access. The new build should have excellent view of the Atlantic Ocean and sunrise. Host was quick to respond to our messages.parking for 4 vehicles…5 if small vehicles.

Location, Location, Location

Certainly every vacation house has a charm all its own, this one is no different, but this one comes with a huge bonus - perfect location. If you’re familiar with the Wells Beach area (and surrounding), then you know staying right down by the beach on Atlantic Ave (close to Mile Rd) is the perfect location. Right across the street is the private walkway to the beautiful beach. The charm of this house is in the style of simple meets utilitarian with ample seating, convenient washer and dryer, and lots of beds. The split-sided house makes sharing the house with family or friends super appealing — full kitchens and bathrooms on either side. Lots of beach chairs and other beach amenities on the side of the house but also on the relaxing deck. Highly recommend!

Awesome location but needs serious maintenance

The location is perfect: it is just across the street from a really nice beach. There was also plenty of room and beds for the 6 of us (4 adults, 2 kids). The place is in need of quite a bit of maintenance though. It is managed remotely so if you have issues during your stay, not much can be done quickly (there was an issue connecting the grill to the propane tank and we were offered to go buy the fix ourselves or wait 3 days to get it). The place only gets cleaned in surface, so some items (A/C units, ceiling fans, blinds, stovetop burners, etc) are really dirty. It is also lacking proper dishes and had only 2 wine glasses between the 2 units. So, to sum it up, the place is well located and can accomodate a small group comfortably for an enjoyable beach vacation, but it is not maintained with care.

My husband, three children (14, 8, and 8), and I stayed on the first floor of this property for one week and we had a phenomenal time! Here are the many pros:- Having the house right across the street from the beach was convenient, so we could run back and forth easily to grab things or use the restroom. It’s walking distance to shops, cafes, and an arcade, but still quiet.- The owner supplied a beach cart, chairs, sand toys, and boogie boards. - The porch! I will be dreaming about that porch for weeks.- Many beds. There were five of us, but you could easily fit, like, 10 or so. - Two full bathrooms. Made getting ready in the morning much faster. - House stocked with towels and beach towels- Garage to fit one car, so you feel secure at night.- Easy code access.- Close to grocery stores, restaurants, drug stores, gas stations, etc - Washer/dryer next to garage- A/C units in every room, with cute little remote control holders on the wall. - The owners were lightning fast with responses.No cons to report, just FYIs:- Make sure to pack toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, sponges, and other basic items (or you can easily buy them from Hanafords up the street)- You might need to do a little light cleaning when you first get there, but, c’mon, look at all of the pros I listed above! This is not a hardship. Hope you all consider renting this property! You won’t be disappointed. Oh and say hi to the little nook on the porch for me. I miss her.

Frat House

This rental is clearly some kind of a scam. We arrived to find two spoons, four forks, and two knives. There was not a sharp knife on the property. Keep in mind there are six beds in the rental. We also had deck chairs that had clearly been broken and rendered unusable for a long time, a broken outdoor umbrella, a stained and worn interior that does not resemble the photos shown, small stained towels, sticky floors, a broken kitchen chair, non-functional venetian blinds, filthy fans, no usable closet space, and a broken burner one of the stoves. This rental is fit only for fraternity boys who subsist on cans of beer and pizza deliveries. Alternatively, if you could park your camper in the front driveway, and just use the shower and toilets, it might work for you. We ended up finding alternative lodgings and using this as a beach cabana. A very expensive beach cabana with slow Internet.

Cornelia I’m sorry you didn’t have a great experience but the listing is not a scam and we have done nothing to the photos. We have over 20 sets of cutlery so I apologize you couldn’t find them, if you had messaged me I wouldn’t gladly helped there. As for the cleaning we do cleanings after/before every stay and just had an additional deep cleaning the week before and throughout the rental season. Your experience is your experience and again o apologize for that but please refrain from saying our families listing is a scam.

Just a good location...nothing else

While the location was very good and communication with the owner was satisfactory, the house was poorly equipped and not in good shape. For example, the house had no coffee pot (yes, it had a Keurig, but no reusable filter, so it was useless). It had one wine glass. I am not sure if we were supposed to take turns with it or just pass it around like communion. Additionally, the bathroom had no toilet paper dispenser. The kitchen chairs on one side were in poor condition (one was mildewed and broken). The house was adequately cleaned but not great. The couches were stained and the shower floor needed a good bleaching. On the upside, the location was lovely, directly across the street from the beach. It had lots of beds, which was a plus. If I were 19 and going there with a bunch of college kids, it might have been fine. But, for a group of women in our late 50s, it lacked even the most basic amenities. This place is fair at best.
