Cottage just blocks from Bay, boat ramps and downtown. Pet friendly fenced yard
Newly renovated 1920's craftsman cozy cottage has plenty of charm. Located on the Bay Block of St Joes Bay, couple blocks to historic downtown Port St Joes fine restaurants and shops, parks, public boat docks & lighthouse. They call these cottages a "six pack", with 2 double beds in front bedroom, master bedroom with a queen off the dining room and off the kitchen is an office/comfortable full size futon. Full bathroom with tile shower inside, plus a fun out door shower. Catch the breeze off the bay on the front porch or enjoy the privacy of the backyard pavilion and patio in the fenced backyard. Complete with outdoor commercial sink and fish cleaning island for the fisherman.
Absolutely love the location and house!! Our 19ft bay boat fit great on the driveway. Backyard has a great size, shower and patio area for gatherings. We will definitely come back!!
We enjoyed our stay! Itâs a cute house, it was very clean and is in a great location. Always skeptical of pictures online but this was better in person than expected. I appreciate the cleanliness of this house. Will definitely stay again.
House was perfect for our family of 3 and little 10 pound pup! We spent most of our time in the bay fishing or in the back yard with the fire pit going! Driveway is long enough for boat parking! We cooked every night at the house, had all the utensils & dishes we needed! Owner was quick to respond to all of ours questions/needs! We could walk everywhere! Less than 10 minute walk to marina, where there is a park & small walking trail. Could easily walk to the downtown area to restaurants if you want! We will definitely be back!
WE HAD A GREAT TIME AND THE LITTLE OLD COTTAGE HOUSE WAS PERFECT!!!! LOVED THE OUTDOOR SHOWER AND FENCED IN BACK YARD!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING HERE!!!
Great location down the street from the convenience stores. 15 min to cape San Blas. Fenced yard was perfect for my dog. Utilized the charcoal grill. It was perfect for our family.
The home is very charming. However, there are a few details you may want to know. First I never contacted the owner/manager with any issues since I didn't feel there was anything they could do before our rent term was completed. First there is no hot tub, there was only 1 bike with a flat tires, there are 2 grills - both not cleaned but the propane was empty so we used the other grill. The sink outside was flithy. Make sure if you have dogs don't let them in the outside shower area because they can easily get out going under the home. Now the main thing that was most annoying is the A/C I would set for 69/70 but wouldn't get to that until after midnight, it was 75 degrees even 79 degrees - and it was below 90 degrees outside. The futon is broken and hot in that room always. The front door lock didn't work half the time would click like it locked but you could just open the door. The bathroom when we first got there smelled like pee but, we cleaned it, problem solved - looked clean just didn't smell clean. There are pennies stuck in the washer machine - tried to get them out but, couldn't. All the mattresses in the home are very old and uncomfortable. Just know everything except the coffee maker is dated and mis-matched of dishes and silverware. (Not a big deal or deal breaker). I just wish the owner wouldn't have false advertised bikes and hot tube. Over all great location and cute home. Just needs some work outside and upgrades and check AC
Cottage very great on inside. Very accessible to boat ramp and restaurants. We think the grass should have been mowed and backyard needed a thorough cleaning. We were not able to use the gas grill as it had not been cleaned in a while.
This property worked great for us. Loved the back yard and " happy hour" hut. Very comfortable. Very friendly neighborhood. Loved the front porch. The bike had a flat tire, would have been nice to have one but only blocks to town and nice to walk the neighborhood.
Our family, including our 2 aussies, had a wonderful time in PSJ this week! We loved the photo album of the renovations & enjoyed the character of this home. Our 2 pups enjoyed the big fenced in yard & made it into their personal racetrack. Thank you for opening up this cozy home to us, we will definitely add it to one of our favorites to look for when booking again!
It turned out cold when I was there. I turned up the heat but it wasn't enough to keep the place warm. It got colder and the pipes froze so I had no water. I just packed up and left. i was never furnished with a contact number or instructions on how to enter the house so I spent the first night sleeping in my car. This had to be the worst travel experience of my life
The house is perfect for two to four people and very dog friendly with a fenced yard. The kitchen is nicely set-up for cooking in and every restaurant in town is easily walkable. A great stay in a wonderful area.
As senior folks, we could totally appreciate the charm of this old house, but we think our grown kids and grandkids would like it too. It has been renovated and decorated beautifully and has all the conveniences you could ask for plus lots of little extra touches. We enjoyed the fire pit while steaks cooked on the grill, morning coffee on the front porch, all the utensils we needed to cook low country boil in the large kitchen, nearby restaurants as well as a great Piggly Wiggly, and the easy access public boat ramp just a few blocks away. The house was super clean (stained pillows mentioned in another review have obviously been replaced), checking in and out was super easy, and Janis was super helpful and gracious. This is not the place for those looking for excitement, but if you want a quaint, cozy cottage to relax in, this is it!
This quaint cottage is located adjacent to downtown Port St Joe. The bay and a small park are located across a 2 lane Main Street. It is in a shaded neighborhood with similar cottages. Inside is an open design concept, with 2 bedrooms, and a bonus bunk room/office. Full bath and laundry room in the back of the house. Very comfortable and cozy. Very nice fenced in backyard for our 2 pups ! Overall, very nice stay, will go back.
The picture shows 2 bicycles and there was only one, so useless to us. Needed to have instructions with remotes for TV. No bath soap or shampoo, lotion.
It was done very nicely and we enjoyed our stay, just needed a few more amenities.
We stayed at the cottage and everything was perfect. Janice was extremely responsive and helpful. The cottage was everything you see in the photos. So cute! Only negative was after stripping the bed sheets and pillowcases, per owner request, the pillows had old blood looking stains on them. So that was not pleasant to see after using them for an entire week. The towels were also very aged and bleach stained. Other than that, everything was great.
This was our first visit to Port St Joe and it was great! The cottage was fully stocked with every thing we needed to be able to relax. The photo album showing the restoration process was fascinating! Great location with an easy walk to the great restaurants in the historic downtown.
Would definitely stay here again!!
I'm a Realtor in Peachtree City, Ga., which is a south Atlanta Metro town. I've been selling real estate for the past 15 years and thought it'd be fun to do a renovation. Prior i spent near 20 years at Delta Air Lines in customer service, marketing ,and sales. I've enjoyed traveling and meeting new people
I love this gem, it was certainly a diamond in the rough when I found it several years ago. I say "I rescued" it. Over the last several years, I've lifted it out of the sand and have been working on it on and off between real estate clients. Repurposing as much material as I could. I think it brings character and warmth to this cottage.
I think you'll enjoy the front porch which almost always brings a cool breeze and those who come for our famous fishing opportunities should like the outdoor pavilion with a commercial sink for catch of the day.
