Lake Murray Family Retreat is a modest & cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home on an acre lot on Lake Murray, Chapin, SC with BIG views. We put a lot of thought into furnishing this home and had families in mind with each detail. It isn`t the most updated or fanciest home on the lake, but it`s one of the homiest!

This 1,355 SF house has a large family room with big lake views and a dining room perfect for spending time with your group. The kitchen has peninsula bar seating for four and includes all major and small appliances.
The primary bedroom suite has a queen size bed, TV, walk-in closet, full ensuite bathroom, laundry closet, and exterior access. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and the third has a twin bunk + a twin trundle.
The house is done in a self-proclaimed `coastal lakehouse modern style` with loads of cozy furnishings, upholstery, pillows, linens, and a mix of natural textiles - think wicker, rattan, wood and glass. Various warm grays, soft neutrals and hues of blue give this house a homey feel the moment you enter.
There are various options for outdoor seating and entertaining as well, including a charcoal grill, reclaimed wood Adirondack style chairs at the outdoor lakeside firepit, an outdoor sectional with cushions and pillows on the patio with two oversized lounge chairs, and a reclaimed wood outdoor picnic table made by a local artisan. Don`t forget the Pirate Ship themed playground for the children or young at heart!
The large paved driveway has plenty of parking for cars, trucks, campers or boat trailers. A public boat launch is located about 10 minutes away at the Hilton Recreation Area (Maps).
The depth at the dock is only a few feet deep, so pontoons or smaller boats are best for dock parking. If you are traveling between October and April the water depth will be 8` less due to seasonal lowering of Lake Murray water levels controlled by Dominion Energy (formerly SCE&G).
You will receive a âboarding passâ upon confirmation with guidebooks, property specific details, check in / parking instructions and more! You can share this link with anyone in your party for access to the details!
Please note that if your stay is longer than 3 weeks, you will be required to pay an additional cleaning fee. This will be sent through a money request.
The bunk room and master bedroom are connected. Please note the floor plan diagram in the listing for this detail. You may access the master bedroom at any time from the exterior of the house if children or little ones are sleeping in the bunk room.
We are very close to the water and on a wooded lot, expect to see wildlife including bugs, lizards, birds, turtles, raccoons, squirrels, and the occasional deer. Regular pest treatments are done both inside and out but it is very easy for pests to slip into the house if doors or windows are left open.
There are security cameras that are actively recording at the exterior of the property only. One camera is at the exterior entry door light to the kitchen. The second camera is attached to the floodlight over the outdoor awning at the rear and captures part of the rear yard and dock area.

The maximum occupancy that is shown in the listing includes any and all visitors that will be at the home. Over-occupancy or unauthorized events will result in IMMEDIATE eviction without refund. Any guest who refuses to vacate when instructed will be treated as a trespasser.
No parties, events, or gatherings over the listed occupancy are allowed under any circumstances. Bookings made under false pretenses will be denied access with no refund.
You must be 25 years of age or older in order to book one of our homes.
While we ask a series of screening questions to all guests, local guests are subject to additional screening steps, including a phone call. We reserve the right to cancel any guest reservations at our discretion.
Quiet hours are from 10PM until 8AM every day of the week. We have zero tolerance for noise complaints and multiple violations will result in immediate eviction without refund.
No smoking or vaping inside of the home under any circumstances. You will incur an additional fee of $500 if you smoke within the home + the cost of any damages. If you smoke outdoors you must dispose of any debris safely, do not discard anything in the yard or patio.
No illegal substances or activities on the premises.
Pets must be approved in advance. We charge a pet fee for up to 2 pets at all of our pet friendly locations. If there is evidence of any undisclosed pets in the home (pet friendly or non-pet friendly), you will be charged for cleaning + any additional damages.
If the property is left in an unusually dirty condition that requires deep cleaning beyond our standard turnover, an additional fee will be charged to cover the extra housekeeping costs.
Early check in and late check out for up to 2 hours is available per calendar availability, at an additional cost. This must be requested through your boarding pass, and we will approve / decline after reviewing our cleaning schedule.
Do not tamper with smoke detectors, security devices, or Wi-Fi equipment.
If personal items are left behind a fee of $25 + shipping costs will be charged back to you.

Heartwood Furnished Homes, LLC was formed in August of 2018 when my husband and I listed our first furnished short-term rental, a duplex in the Earlewood Park neighborhood of Columbia, SC. By day, my husband David is a Product Manager for an insurance company and I am a sole proprietor licensed architect. David and I have grown our passion for design into a family business. Since that first investment property purchase and renovation, Heartwood Furnished Homes has grown to six owned units, four leased units and two managed units for an overall of TWELVE properties available for short-term stays around Columbia in South Carolina. Despite the unexpected challenges of 2020 we continue to expand and provide even more top-quality rentals to Midlands visitors.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! This is a prime location on Lake Murray with an acre lot and 320 feet of frontage, the views are spectacular! David and I have always wanted a property on the lake and 2020 has finally provided the perfect opportunity :) We spend time at this home as a family with our 1-year-old son and have tried to make it a true family retreat. We look forward to opening our doors to other families and sharing the magic of this place!

This house is on an acre and has 320 feet of lake frontage (!) and a private dock. The large driveway is great for parking vehicles, RVs and boats. The gorgeous landscaping and vegetation make the house feel secluded, peaceful and private. You will NOT see any neighbors looking out the windows or while in the yard, it's wonderful! There is a firepit with Adirondack style chairs near the lake, a patio adjacent to the Family Room with an outdoor sectional and lounge chairs, a reclaimed wood picnic table built by a local artisan and a really fun pirate ship themed playset with swings, plank, slide, and fireman's pole.
This is not the most updated house but it is one of the homiest! We took extra time picking out furniture, décor, and items that will make you feel right at home the moment you enter the house. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, silverware, pots and pans, a toaster oven, coffee maker, grinder, blender, microwave, electric kettle, slow cooker, waffle iron, and stand mixer. We tried to think of everything when it came to the kitchen but are open to any additional suggestions, we are always trying to improve!
