Such a lovely restored 1825 plantation home, Perfect for our family attending a wedding inCumberland. Peaceful property for walks or just sitting on the porch.
We have stayed at this property multiple times over the last few years. We enjoy the house every time. The highlight for us is the porch which is an excellent gathering spot for our morning coffee and watching the sunrise. The rooms inside are spacious. A great place to stay.
Very nicely restored home and property. Nicely decorated with period pieces and comfortably furnished. Quiet, peaceful location but yet not far from stores and restaurants. Owners were very accommodating. Would definitely consider a return visit, if staying in the area.
Beautifully maintained historic home in a picturesque setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay. It really had almost everything we needed. Plenty of space, TVâs, board games, and magazines. Would have loved to know the boundaries of the property, as it would be a beautiful walk.
The house is precious, perfectly kept, full of antiques to make you have a personal tour through all the house. The grounds are breathtaking. The kids enjoyed running around and going to the pond.
I hope we could have stayed longer!
We stayed for my daughterâs graduation from Liberty University in Lynchburg. It was a bit of travel back and forth but we had fun watching movies and playing croquet.
We got to spend 3 days in this big beautiful home with my sister and her son. We loved looking at the pictures of the before and after from the renovation. It is a quiet wonderful space to get away from it all.
What a amazing property! Everything was clean and exactly as advertised. We enjoyed this historic manor house. It was decorated beautifully. The back porch was perfect to sit on with a cuppa coffee and listen to the birds, and Amish buggies going by on Sunday morning ! Thank you for our stay.
This house was perfect to attend and celebrate my son's college graduation. The back porch was pur favorite gathering spot, even through a rainstorm. We played croquet and cornhole in the beautiful backyard and cooked a family meal, served in the spacious dining room. Plenty of linens and household supplies. Wonderful memories made.
Our stay in this home was wonderful! The host was easy to communicate with both before and during our stay. Questions were answered VERY quickly! The home was beautifully decorated with time period appointments. The dining area easily sat all 8 of us. We enjoyed sitting and chatting on the back deck watching the two children run around and explore the back property. We also enjoyed chatting and playing games in the living room and around the dining table. It was an easy drive (about 5 minutes) to the grocery store and to ordinations at St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary (about 11 minutes). I would definitely recommend the home and the host.
We have stayed multiple times at this property. It never disappoints. From making the reservation all the way through checkout the experience is top notch. The dining room and living room are big and spacious and we gather as a family in both rooms and spend hours together. We have enjoyed each stay and look forward to many more over the next few years. We are grateful for the opportunity to stay there. Thank you,
This is our second stay at this lovely farmhouse. We enjoyed it more this time than the last! Sitting on the front porch watching the deer run through the yard was a lot of fun and enjoyable for the whole family thank you thank you! We look forward to our next time
Everything about our stay was perfect. The rooms were large and exquisitly decorated. The history of the property was interesting to read. We felt as though we were a part of that history.
House located on a slave Plantation, behind the big house were
slave shacks that were from slavery days. It would have been nice to be aware of that big fact before renting the house,
the house was a Museum of those days.
spacious rooms but only one bathroom on the main floor.
the other is in the basement,
For history sake it was a good stay but wish we knew what we were going into for the family fun.
We stayed for the weekend and truly enjoyed every minute of it. The house was big and roomy and decorated beautifully! The property was very large and had so many things to explore and take in. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun weekend to hang out and also enjoy outside activities!!!
No complaints, apart from the second bathroom being in the basement while 3 of the bedrooms are 2 floors above. More of a 1-bathroom property. Hostess was great. She was responsive and flexible. I do recommend.
Absolutely beautiful!! They did an amazing job on the remodel, and the old world feel, and beautiful restoration made it a dream to stay at! The only complaint I had was the beds were all full sized... my 6'2 husband was hanging off the edge, and my 5'10, 8.5 months pregnant self barely fit in bed together lol... but.. still worth staying! We'll likely stay again when visiting our oldest at Longwood!
