This place is special. The cabin is tucked at the end of a long, forested, rhododendron lined drive that runs along a stream. After passing a photogenic old barn, you are greeted with the most charming log cabin, tucked just beyond the two ponds. There is no noise pollution - instead, you'll be enchanted by birdsong and a nightly chorus of frogs. It was exactly what we needed. Milda is so very kind, with prompt communication and a generous heart. Thank you for everything. Additional thanks to Brandey for prepping the cabin to make it feel so welcoming.
We had a wonderful time and it was the perfect getaway for our 41st Anniversary. The cabin is secluded and sits back off a gravel road. We enjoyed sitting next to the fire pit listening to nature and looking at the bright stars. The cabin is peaceful and very relaxing.
We loved this little cabin in the woods! It was just close enough for a day trip to Blacksburg or Floyd but far enough away from everything to get some quiet relaxing time.
What an amazing stay! This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this property. Itâs the perfect getaway for ourselves and our two dogs from the big city life. You get all the seclusion you would like with all the modern amenities you need! We look forward to going back.
Very peaceful cabin. You travel up a gravel road past an old barn and around a pond to the cabin. A very authentic mountain cabin retreat. We really enjoyed the tranquil setting and will definitely stay here again in the future.
The property was in a great location. It was peaceful it was quiet it was beautiful. The cool crisp air is a pleasant change of the hustle and bustle of a city. Definitely the kind of place you want to come to and wind down and forget about the world.
The host is amazing; beyond expectations! The area is serene and a slice of peace. A great way to escape for a little and just enjoy the nature and beauty of life!
What an incredible stay. Beautiful cabin tucked away in the woods. Had so much fun fishing and hiking. This is pretty wheelchair accessible too on the first floor, plenty of space to roll around. We loved the stars and sky at night. We canât wait to return. Owner was great with communication as well and so so kind. Thank you!
Love the quiet atmosphere. The place is wonderful. It was hot while we were there so we missed having a/c but otherwise we were very happy. We even stayed 2 extra days!!
Milda and Brandey did everything to make our stay blissful in this private, enchanted space. As Brandey predicted, the daffodils had started to bloom, which made for a beautiful backdrop along with the ponds. We had a small group for a ceremony and a buffet, eat-from-your-lap style dinner. The trails were lovely and the landscape design inspiring. We caught a fish and heard many types of birds including a barred owl and golden crowned kinglet. Chicadee's were nesting in the bird house. The abundant salamanders in the edges of the ponds were also getting ready for spring. I really appreciated the many comfortable pillows, towels, and blankets in this quiet cabin. And the tap water in the kitchen tastes completely clean. Thanks for sharing this special place with us!
Nice setup for getting away from it all in the woods. Decorations were too cluttered for us. A/C great on first floor upstairs single beds a bit warm but comfortable with provided fans. No counter space in kitchen. Nice fire pit and charcoal grill.
Loved it the minute we walked in. So thoughtfully appointed with cabin coziness and decorated so tastefully. Milda was very responsive and helpful. Its off the beaten path but thats what we were looking for. Did alot of walking and some fishing. Really hope to return in the fall. Thanks Milda!
I had a ball, so did my brotherâs dog. The great grandmaâs were not quite as impressed. I think how tucked away in the woods gave them pause. Very relaxing. I would definitely stay again on my own!
What a wonderful little secret tucked back in the woods! This cozy little cabin is full of various craftsy nick-nacks that feed into the vibe of simpler times. It was nice being away from the hustle and bustle of a digital world. Its fair to say that good times were had by all: playing board games, fishing, stargazing, hiking and simply enjoying the time with each other. We ventured out to nearby locales: VT for a football game and to Floyd for a visit to the Old General Store to listen to jam circle of bluegrass string pickers. What a perfect chance to unwind!
The property is secluded. Your neighbors are the abundant wildlife. The cabin is nicely furnished and the beds are comfortable. I was looking to escape the heat and humidity of August in NC (Raleigh area) and wasnât disappointed. Iâll remember the flannel shirt mornings with coffee on the front porch. I never met our host, Milda, but communication was excellent. Checking in and out was a breeze. Hope to go back next summer.
Very quiet & secluded location. Google maps took us to the precise location. Be prepared to drive down a lots of gravel roads, which is part of the attraction. The cabin is a quaint, rustic place that is very comfortable for a couple for several days. Decor is appropriate to a cabin. The location is about 35 minutes to Christiansburg, 40 minutes to Blacksburg, and about 20 minutes to downtown Floyd. Floyd is a gem of a town - a great surprise with restaurants and shops and friendly people. Really enjoyed out stay altogether.
If you are looking for a quiet place to hang out, then this is the place! A rustic log cabin and plenty of acreage provides a sense of peace that is hard to beat! Even in cool rainy weather it is warm cozy and inviting.
Perfect secluded location. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed. We just brought food. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be back year after year.
We stayed at Buffalo Hollow for 3 days surrounding the time we dropped our son off at Virginia Tech. It was about 40 minutes away from campus. We enjoyed the nature and quality time together as a family - playing music on the CD player, game nights, enjoyed a campfire and roasted hot dogs and Sâmores, and fishing old school with cane poles in the ponds out front. Our dog enjoyed running around the large property and having a nice break from the hot and humid Charleston weather! No cell service or WiFi in a few spots along the roads to the cabin itself so I would recommend having written directions or taking screen shots as the turns can be a little tricky, especially in the rain or at night! Cabin has WiFi so if you need to get online you can. We tried to take a break from it all as much as possible đ
As a Virginia native, after spending several decades in Florida am thrilled to be back in the Blue Ridge and fulfilling the dream of owning a remote rustic cabin down a winding dirt road deep in the woods.
It is a pleasure to share this enchanting piece of paradise- a perfect place to find quiet and restore one's soul.
The nearby town of Floyd is a jewel in the New River Valley. The perfect small country atmosphere with live music, vineyards, craft galleries and a great brewery.
When arriving at this cabin retreat it feels as if the world has faded away along with all the stress of the day to day concerns. It's just you and the wind in the trees and the sunlight shimmering on the ponds. Total peace.
