Walk to all the restaurants locals love best from this newly decorated W AVL home. 4 bedrooms plus bonus room with daybed attached to master. Cozy tv room with comfy couch off from main living room with plenty of room for friends and family to gather. Kitchen with built in banquette for 4 and dining room with table that seats 8. Large front porch and spacious backyard with plenty of free off street parking. Perfect place for 2 families or large groups of friends to gather and explore Asheville. So close to downtown but located in a walkable area that locals love best.
This place was perfect! Walkability in West Asheville was great. Close to the action but set off from the street. Front porch was great to hang out on.
Really nice host and location, but had cleanliness issues
This is a cute, 90 yr old house in a great location. Unfortunately, our son is allergic to dust and this house is covered in it. I gave Joan a heads up regarding our allergies leading up to our stay. She was thoughtful enough to contact me the day before our check in to let me know she had instructed her housekeeper of the allergies. When we arrived, the first thing I noticed in the bedrooms were the extremely thick layers of dust on all of the blinds, baseboards, and cobwebs in most of the corners of the rooms, under the beds, etc. I started deep cleaning the room where my son would sleep to prevent asthma flare ups. I let Joan know about the condition of the house, & sent photos of how filthy the cleaning cloths were that I used. She was empathetic and offered solutions including allowing us to find a different place to stay. Unfortunately, there were no options comparable in size for our party of 5 available on such short notice. She sent her housekeeper back the next day with specific instructions. Unfortunately, the housekeeper still didn't remove the dust in the bedrooms. I requested a cleaning fee refund as I dusted so much of the house, and she was agreeable and accommodating. After sleeping in the house for two nights, our son indeed got sick and was unable to sleep the third night due to breathing issues from the dust. I'd steer clear if you have allergies. Otherwise, great location.
I had an amazing stay in Asheville with my 4 adult daughters. This home was perfect for us. The location couldnât have been better. Walking to shops and great restaurants and grocery store!! Easy off street parking. Very comfortable beds for everyone! We will all love coming back here!
This is a lovely home and the location is very close to all the restaurants and shops in West Asheville. We ate at so many great places. Driveway parking there is very convenient as well. The house itself is very comfortable with plenty of room. We had five people. The beds are also very comfortable and bathroom as well appointed. I would absolutely stay here again or recommend it to anyone coming in to town for a restful stay in a beautiful home nearby fun activities.
The house was very clean and comfortable. Communication with the host was great. We really enjoyed all of the nearby restaurants and being able to walk to them. Itâs an old house but itâs been updated and was perfect for our needs. We had 2 families including a baby and everyone had space to spread out. The backyard was a definite plus as well! The weather was nice so we sat out there or on the front porch a lot.
We absolutely LOVE this home! It truly is a home away from home and only 3 miles from our daughter. Everything we need is here with spacious rooms and a cozy feel to accommodate us, our adult children and grandkids. The host, Joan Best, truly is so gracious and excellent at communicating throughout.
We had an amazing time in West Asheville thanks to this great house. There was plenty of space, everything was clean, beds were comfy, and the kitchen and living spaces have everything you need. The home is walkable to literally dozens of great restaurants, coffee shops, and stores which made it so easy for our family to be leisurely and have fun. It is a very short drive to downtown and to multiple hikes as well.
Joan was a perfect host- easy to communicate with, very responsive. We will certainly try to book this house again for our next trip to Asheville!
Right around the corner from restaurants and shops in West Asheville, this Arts and Crafts home is large, beautifully decorated, super clean, and gave my writing group all the amenities we could possibly need. Only minutes from Biltmore estate and arts area, too. Highly recommended.
Stayed with friends. Plenty of room, lots of towels and pillows and blankets and kitchen stuff. Laundry soap and dish soap and shampoo etc. we felt very comfortable and welcome.
We walked to three different breakfast spots and three dinners as well as basic groceries. Liked the specialty coop at the corner. Highly recommend.
Reunion of college friends celebrating our 70th Birthday
Lots of room, easily accommodated 5 adults in separate beds, close to downtown,Biltmore, River Arts area
Off street parking
Nice kitchen and 2 full baths
We enjoyed outdoor eating area
The location was great for my group of friends. It is super walkable in West Asheville, although note the house is literally on the end of the block where the businesses start. Not an issue for our group, but just noting for others if you're looking to be a tad more off the strip. Plenty of room for our group and overall nice amenities.
The house is just as advertised. Wonderful location and great communication with the owner. We were a group of 5 friends and everyone fit comfortably. So many great restaurants and shops within walking distance. Literally half block away from bars and restaurants. The house is an older home with beautiful original wood floors. Lots of character and charm. Beds are comfy. House is clean. Huge backyard. Kitchen has most everything you would need it seems but we ate out every meal because the food is so good and convenient. If you are looking for some super modern, brand new home go elsewhere. But if you want to be in a charming, comfortable house with character right in a neighborhood this is your place. Highly recommend!!
This property is fantastic! From the 4 plus bedrooms, to great furnishings, to a great kitchen that was equipped to facilitate being able to make homemade cinnamon rolls and overnight French toast, to grilling steaks, to enjoying the fire pit, to very comfortable beds. Super location with restaurants and shopping options.
This is our second time staying at this property. It is beautiful, well-maintained, and oh-so conveniently located. We loved walking to any number of excellent nearby eateries and heading back to the house to enjoy the food in the enclosed backyard, so the kids could run around and get their sillies out. We will definitely be back.
The house was very comfortable and in a great neighborhood. Universal Joint (rest.) right across the street, West end bakery just a block down, many other interesting places, plus easy drive to Riverside arts District and downtown. Furniture and beds all comfortable, doors to separate sleeping areas from living areas, extra sitting room with extra TV - everything nice and in good order.
This was by far the best experience my family has EVER had with a VRBO in any state! We have never felt like we could stay forever. The home was perfect for our family; it was clean, close to many restaurants, close to our daughter who lives in NC, and had everything we needed to have the most comfortable & enjoyable stay! Our host, Joan, was very clear in communicating and so kind. We will definitely want to stay here again!!
The property was as advertised. Perfect location if you're looking to be in the middle of things in West Asheville. Can't beat it - can walk to pretty much everything out there. and, the home is neat and clean and everything went off without a problem. We'd stay again!
