View wildlife from one of the two decks located at the front and back of this authentic A frame cabin. The main floor features a master bedroom with a king sized comfy bed, bathroom, kitchen, dining area and living room. The second bedroom is located upstairs in the loft. There's a couch that opens to a queen size bed if more sleeping space is needed. The kitchen has everything you need including a full size stove, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster microwave, cookware, dinnerware etc. The home also has satellite tv and internet. Mac's Place is nestled in the woods which gives a mountain feel yet it's close to Cripple Creek, an old mining town which has been converted to a gambling town. Visit the old jail and take a ride in the train up the mountain. Visit shops and restaurants in town. Close by are the fossil beds and a wolf refuge.
We had an issue with strong gas smell when we arrived The fire alarm was not working Enjoyed the stay cute house just needed some updates Carpet mainly Thanks
It was a great stay. The location was a bit misleading stating that the property was a 5 minute walk from the closet casin Cripple Creek. In fact, it was 5 miles away from town.
Nice cozy place. Just a few minutes to town.
FYI if youâre on motorcycles. We had to leave ours at the driveway entry next to road due to steep dirt/rock driveway. We had no problems with anyone messing with them.
We loved the cabin. Cozy, clean, had everything we needed. Hostess responded to emails promptly. It was perfect for our 50th anniversary trip. We saw deer every morning ,but the last one. We were too noisy loading the van Iâm sure. I would definitely stay at Macâs cabin again!
Great place to stay, we enjoyed sitting out on the deck and enjoying the outdoors. The place could use some TLC with paint, fixing the rocking toilet, and some light bulbs. It seemed very dark in the house. But was appreciative of the spices, and items that the house had besides just dishes. Great to be able to do laundry also.
Carpets were sipping wet during our stay. Owner was trying to make sure we had a clean property and I appreciate that. Maybe a cleaning day needs to be factored into bookings. The carpet didnât dry out for the 16 hours we were there. We were given a partial refund for the second night we didnât use
We enjoyed our stay. One thing to note: The cabin is aboiut 5 miles away from Cripple Creek. The listing makes it look as though you're close and could walk to town. That is not an option.
Cripple Creek on the weekend has some people around, but during the week we found the town nearly abandoned ... it seemed we were about the only people in the casinos. Not sure how they pay staff during the week. Most dealers were standing doing nothing waiting for customers. One perk was that I did find $5 blackjack. That's almost unheard of anymore.
There is a giant construction project in town. Someone said a Vegas casino owner is building a large, Vegas style casino/hotel. Suppose to be open near the end of 2023.
half of the light bulbs burnt out, all frying pans shot had to go buy one so we could cook. BBQ grill shot and wheel broken. we did not use, carpet worn out completely. place could be very nice with some basic upkeep. would have stayed in a hotel if we knew this
This cabin was very nice. Well appointed and clean. It was exactly as advertised. The only downsides were the lack of tv service when we needed down time to relax and limited wi-fi service.
This was perfect for what we needed: rest. The kitchen had utensils and cookware to make delicious food. The beds were soft. The table perfect for games. The grill worked great. There were plenty of cozy places to curl up with a good book.
We were in the area for the great fishing a short distance away from the cabin. It was great to return after a hard day's fishing, prepare our meal without having to seek a place to eat and then able to get a good nights sleep before doing it all over the next day. Everything needed was there. It was comfortable and relaxing. Would love to rent it again. The only complaint is the need for a window fan in the loft to pull in the cool evening air and the need for more towels and washcloths. There were four of us, but only one washcloth. Other than these two minor issues, the stay was great.
nice location we didn't want to stay in Cripple Creek as we didn't plan on gambling and this was a great location. Easy to find, had everything we needed. Had a smoky/musty smell but when it wasn't cold we were able to open the windows for fresh air. We did have a scare as our phones got an evection warring for a fire and we didn't know where w e were but the owner was able to provide us with some details. The house is very loud you will hear ever footstep so if you are a light sleeper be prepared! The shower was either burn your skin or freeze ( i went with burn my skink) the table for games was perfect. We want to go back yearly as I told my boyfriend at that kitchen table we are pregnant so it will hold a special place in our hearts forever!
I live in Pueblo, Colorado where I work as a realtor for HomeSmart Preferred Realty. My family enjoys the Rocky Mountains, fishing, sightseeing, and camping. Mac's Place is our getaway from the city and work. We love to travel and see new places.
Our family enjoys going to Cripple Creek so when we found this beautiful cabin for sale, we bought it. It's far enough from town to enjoy mountain living and close enough to be in town in 5 minutes. It is very common to have wildlife on the property. The location is perfect to enjoy the outdoors or to go sightseeing, Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge and other places
Location, location, location. Cabin in the mountains AND 5 minutes from the town of Cripple Creek. Excellent outdoor space. Front and back decks, patio furniture and a grill. Property is on an acre so there's plenty of privacy
