Sonia was great! She got us settled with grocery store trip and ride to restaurant our first night. We loved her house - amazing view and very comfortable and secure. Atenas was warmer than we expected for the month of January, but cooled off with well-tended pool. Afternoons brought a breeze most days and the nights were cool. I would go back again.

Great views and location

An amazing location with close proximity to all that Atenas had to offer. Great property for 4 guest with private pool. The views were incredible and watching the storms and clouds roll in during rain season were a real treat. Also, morning visits by the local toucans were an added bonus.

Dream vacation!

Gorgeous vistas, very private, beautifully landscaped, couldn't wish for a better Host, very well equipped accommodations incl internet and cable, easy access to amenities , Had a bit of an ant invasion, not sure how this could be circumvented

Incredibly beautiful location

Sonia was there when we arrived and showed us around. Any minor issues we had were dealt with quickly. The view and wildlife around felt as if we were far away from it all when in truth the town of Atenas, which we love, was walkable along with great restaurants and services. It was a wonderful 3 months. Thank you Sonia.

What a view

We stayed here 4 weeks and enjoyed every moment. The house is located in Roca Verde at a very beautiful location. The view is incredible and it is very quiet. Only thing I missed was a desk to work on. If that could be added it is a perfect house to do hybrid working for a while. We enjoyed every minute, thank you

The Vacas HouseWow! This house is in the most incredible location in Roca Verde – stunning views and quiet surroundings. You look out to a mango grove and then hills of cow pastures as far as the eye can see. We grew very fond of the vacas. We spent 4 months here from May to August. The grounds are beautiful with lovely gardens. There are lime trees, soursop trees, a papaya tree and a rosemary bush that we often picked from. Our favourite spot was the second-floor balcony in the afternoons where we watched the afternoon storm clouds roll in. Sonia is a great host, very friendly and responsive. The check-in and check-out process is seamless. The house is very well stocked from dish wares and kitchen tools and gadgets to linens and towels. Thank you, Sonia for sharing your home with us.

Home-Away-From-Home

Sonia is a gracious hostess, quick to answer any questions, and cares about the comfort of her guests. The home is so well furnished, you will want for nothing. The living room furniture is comfortable, which is not always the case in Costa Rica. The master bed is very comfortable, fim enough and soft. The home is a difficult walk to town, because it is up a steep paved road in the hills. However, it is a quick easy drive to many good restaurants in town. Plus the view is great, and it is so peaceful to go to bed at night with a cool breeze through the windows and doors to the sound of crickets and to wake up in the morning to the sound of birds. We stayed 8 weeks and would definitely stay here again.

Stay in the heart of the mountains

Wow! What an exceptional view and what a pleasure to have a drink on the 2nd floor balcony, with the wonderful breeze. We are 2 teleworkers. We were extremely satisfied with the Wi-Fi. Since the air conditioning was only in the master bedroom, the living room could get hot in the afternoon, due to the huge windows. However, if you are tourists who will go out during the day or want to enjoy the swimming pool, you will greatly appreciate this house. We felt 200% safe. Lots of activities to do in the area. We didn't miss anything. The house contains everything you could possibly need and even more! Sonia is extraordinary. She responds quickly and we can see that our comfort matters to her. The gardeners are very respectful. Please allow a few minutes a day for a good sweep if you like to have the patio doors open (even with the mosquito screens), as dust and insects easily infiltrate. You have to love geckos because they like to visit us! We had a good laugh at the cows that settled on the mountain every day. A sight that we do not often have the chance to admire.

The property is located inside a gated community. The view could not be more beautiful or tranquil. Sonia was responsive and went beyond expectations to help us relax and enjoy our stay. Everyone associated with our stay were outstanding. We loved every minute.

Views beyond belief

We stayed at this home for a month. Sonia left so many amenities to make our stay comfortable that I felt bad having packed so efficiently. The views were spectacular...you can just sit back and watch the clouds rolling in. We were happy to been here in the rainy season. We met many new friends in Roca Verde and the town of Atenas. It was truly hard to leave. We hope to visit again!

Vista perfect

This is our 2nd year staying in this cozy home. We are going back next winter. That says it all. Love staying there. Well equipped and inviting. Close to all amenities needed. Safe and friendly !

Great place, wonderful views.

I spent a month at this house, I was looking for solitude and quite time, and I got what I wanted. Taxi service for about $3US will get you to town, stores, ATMs, and many restaurants. I found everyone friendly and helpful.

Very nice home in Atenas

What a nice subdivision (gated) nestled in the hills of Atenas. Peaceful, good views, well kept property. We stayed here a month while our home in San Ramon was being finished. I loved the layout of the home with two floors, and everything we needed was provided. We also loved Atenas and go back there often. The weather in the summer can get a bit warm during the afternoons, but the home has a nice pool to help you cool off. One of my favorite things was sitting on the patio in the morning, enjoying my coffee and writing in my journal. Wonderful. A big thank you to Sonia for her hospitality.

Beautiful and peaceful property

The property is away from me the town but close enough to grocery shopping, restaurants, and a convenient highway that will give you access to airport and many other of Costa Ricas main attractions. It has a nice size pool with beautiful, relaxing surroundings. The owner, Sonia was very nice and accommodating. There are some typical Costa Rican restaurants in town but our favorite was Etnias for live music on Fridays and some nice Tapas. We enjoyed our stay very much and recommend to others who don't want the typical touristy larger cities. Thank you , Sonia for letting us stay at your place in the mountains! Ari H.
