Studebaker House - Streamside

Enjoy a peaceful getaway at Studebaker House! Nestled in McAlevy's Fort, a classic early 1900s house right along Standing Stone Creek.

Starting in June 2026 - there will be a restaurant on property that will be open Thursday - Sunday in the gathering space on the property. As guests you are welcome to join us for dinner or Sunday brunch. Please reach out to the host to coordinate reservations and be advised that there will be others on the property during your time of booking.

Spend your day cozying up by the wood-burning fireplace with a good book, out on the back deck enjoying a meal with friends and family, or relaxing by the stream.

3 bedrooms with a television in each room, 2 - 3/4 baths and 1 full bath, washer & dryer. 7 minute drive to Greenwood Furnace or Whipple Dam, 25 minutes away from Downtown State College.

The home was perfect for a PSU football weekend stay! Close enough to campus for the day but also super quiet and relaxing. Plenty of space and everything was very clean and as described!

Fantastic Stay

Was here for graduation and it was perfect for our our family. The house slept 8 comfortably (with 3 couples sharing beds) and allowed for us to dine together and enjoy time with our graduate.

Lovely home and area

Another beautiful stay in Petersburg. Our family loves this home, and its location. It is the perfect size, has a ready to cook kitchen and comfy beds. Top that off with an excellent host!

A second stay here, we love this clean, spacious home for our family, its remote location and the welcoming nature of the host. Communication with Christine was always pleasant. We will try to stay again, as long as it isn’t booked!

What a wonderful place to stay!!

We stayed the weekend with our family of 6. The house had plenty of room for everyone, was very clean and exactly as listed - well maintained and had everything we needed. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. And the location is perfect - less than 25 minutes to State College and two state parks within minutes. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit the area!!

Beautiful setting, wonderful accommodations

We had a fantastic stay at the Studebaker House! We would highly recommend it. The setting could not be more beautiful. Coming up from the DC area, we thoroughly enjoyed the quiet setting and the ability to see so many stars. The accommodations were even better than they appear in the pictures. It was incredibly clean and comfortable. The small touches around the house made it that much more special. We're already planning our next visit!

Stayed for Penn State Graduation. Absolutely beautiful home on a stunning property. Comfortable accommodations for 8 adults! 30 mins to Penn State but definitely out in the country! Christine was so easy to communicate with, left chocolates and wine for us which was so very thoughtful! Home is well stocked with everything you need!!

Perfect Penn State Football Weekend

The Studebaker House was a great place to stay for the Penn State Football weekend. It took us less than 30 minutes to get to the stadium and it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful to return to. There were eight adults in our group and the accommodations were perfect with 4 large bedrooms and 3 full baths. Also, the beds were very comfortable. Christine was extremely helpful with recommendations and responded to our questions very promptly. We would highly recommend the Studebaker House for family or group gatherings.

What a great find!

We did a family vacation with our adult/ teen children for a long weekend and visit to Penn State for a game. The home and property exceeded our expectations which is always a pleasant surprise. Its a beautiful property, quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle but with 20 minutes of anything you need or want to do. The home holds an upscale but still cozy feeling. Was well equipped with everything we needed. I would love to come back in the spring for some hiking and exploring again.

Mini family vacation

We had a fabulous time at Christine’s home. The kitchen was well stocked and everyone loved the little “extras” she left us - water beside the bed as well as chocolates in the bedrooms (which were favorites of my two nieces who would come and visit us). It was a great place with 3 full bathrooms to accommodate our group which include my parents, our adult children and our niece and nephew. It was a great location to allow us to visit my brother and his family staying at Greenwood Furnace State Park and so close to Whipple Damn and Shavers Creek! The large property gave our daughter’s dog plenty of room to run as well as room for us to play outdoor games. Most important the home was clean! Thank you!

Amazing!

We stayed at Studebaker House for a Penn State Football game. It was so convenient to campus and the property itself was amazing. The host was very helpful and easy to get in contact with. Would definitely stay here again!

My family and I rented this property for a few days to spend some time together. It was a beautiful property and the host was fantastic! Great location , lots of space in the house and very CLEAN! I would highly recommend renting from Christine and staying at this property!

Fabulous getaway

We stayed at The Studebaker house this past weekend and couldn’t have been more pleased. Four couples headed to PSU to see our kids and a game. So 8 adults who all felt the same way “ when can we come back!” We pulled up and the property was beautiful, well maintained and so much to explore. Upon entering the home first thought was - so clean! The home had everything we needed! We had alot of prep work for the tailgate and the kitchen didn’t disappoint. Each bedromm was comfortable and clean. The host, Christine, thought of everything! A manual for any questions, glass bottles of water and candy in every bedroom, and good quality soaps and shampoos everywhere! Christine was the fastest host I have ever worked with! Any email I sent her was answered in like 5 minutes!!! She was such a pleasure to work with. Our whole experience was perfect and we can’t wait to go back next year!!!

A great place to relax

Snuggled in the midst of luscious green landscape, Studebaker House offers peace and quiet away from the hustle, bustle of everyday life. It is a wonderful place for family or friends to get together and reconnect. I picked Studebaker House because of it's proximity to Greenwood Furnace State Park, where family members were staying. We gathered one evening on the spacious deck to enjoy a meal cooked on the grill. My family was impressed with the cleanliness, spaciousness, tranquility and beauty of the home. I appreciated the owner's open-line of communication. All needed information is delivered in a timely manner (i.e. keycode for door). If your question is not addressed by the guest handbook conveniently located in the kitchen, the owner is just a phone call away. If I am ever in the area again and need a place to stay, I would choose Studebaker House. I highly recommend it. If looking for activities, Studebaker House is convenient to Columbus Chapel and Boal Mansion Museum, Thousand Steps/Standing Stone Trail, Greenwood Furnace State Park and only fifteen miles south of State College. Happy traveling!

Our stay was very enjoyable. Beautiful home, on spacious grounds. Very clean and very comfortable. The amenities were wonderful. The kitchen had everything we needed. Any question was answered quickly via email. I would highly recommend staying there.

Beautiful country getaway

My husband and I met another couple at this property for a long weekend getaway. We randomly chose the equidistant location, but it did not disappoint. Incredibly clean, beautifully decorated, this property has retained lovely historic parts with modern updates. Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed to cook full meals. Beautiful warm wood fireplace in a big living room. Thoughtfully stocked with games and even a projector which we used to stream a basketball game. Dog friendly and we roamed around the snowy property. Plenty of hiking and outdoor activities and PSU is fairly close with stores and restaurants, though we didn’t go there. Would be great for a family reunion or friends get away. Highly recommend!
