Turn of the Creek is the perfect spot for those who love to kayak! Beautiful views of Eel Creek and the Marshes that surround it. The property has great outside space from the screen porch, upstairs sun deck to the dock that is perfect for crabbing or just relaxing.

THIS HOUSE DOSE NOT PROVIDE LINENS AND TOWELS. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN OR CALL US TO RENT THEM.

Cancellations made 30 days prior to arrival will receive 100% of refund  of all monies minus $ 39 Processing Fee and Any Credit Card Convenience Fees Paid.  If less then 30 days: the advanced rent is only refundable subject to the following: The property is re-rented for the same period. Re-rental of less than a full week will be refunded on a pro-rated basis. The Agent will retain a $39.00 processing charge and any convenience fees charged. *Deposits are not refunded for ANY reason (including bad weather).

Turn of the Creek in June

We rented this house for our first trip to Chincoteague in over 20 years and the house really made it special. it is in a fabulous location with water access and convenient to everything on the island.

Loved the rooftop deck!

My husband and I loved this house and location. The view of the water and wildlife was visible from almost every room. We especially enjoyed the rooftop porch. We’ll definitely be back again. Bring your binoculars and get ready to be amazed at the variety of waterfowl.

Nice waterfront house.

Nice small house for two with a a dock, a screened-in porch and a rooftop porch with a nice view. They have kayaks to use on the bay (you’ll have to launch at a boat ramp as the dock is too high). Nice place, nice location, good price.

Lovely place for our long weekend

This was my first time staying in Chincoteague, and this house did not disappoint. Exactly what I wanted: perfect scenery with access to water and stunning view. Could have certainly stayed longer comfortably. The house could have been a little cleaner with amenities updated and checked. Coffee pot was cracked on arrival and many of the outlets did not work. Could have had instructions for T.V. opperation, and other t.v. was too outdated to hook up to the cable box that was attached. (I didn't mind because i was not there to watch t.v., but others may mind!) Overall a great stay, and i plan to stay again!

I understood that Vrbo meant the owner was renting the property … we had to deal with a property management company which was not a pleasant interaction. The woman was rude condescending and smug. The property was lovely and our vacation was great but dealing with harbor rentals left a bad taste.

Will be looking to book this home again!

What a lovely, lovely getaway. Perfect spot with a dock on the creek, screened in porch, and roof deck. We loved the windows in the dining area that looked out on the marsh and saw a lot of bird activity all weekend. The house is right off the center of town with lots of restaurants, shops, and Sundial Books, a very cool bookstore. It is also a very close drive to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge with hiking trails and the beach. We saw a few distant groups of the wild ponies from the hiking trails! It's also about an hour drive to Assateague National Seashore, where we went on a fabulous kayaking tour with Assateague Outfitters which we highly recommend despite the drive. Definitely felt safe (re: covid) the whole time as it was the off season and very few people were out and about, most activities were outdoors, and we had the whole house to ourselves and were not sharing any areas with other guests like in a hotel. We had a great time here and cannot wait to come back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We very much enjoyed the location and layout of the house. Although the weather was a little rainy and windy at times, the multiple spots (dining room, porches, dock) to enjoy watching the marsh and creek made it still enjoyable even when indoors. The very good (fresh) fish market is close by, and it's just a few minutes drive or bike to the Refuge, which was the reason we came. The kitchen had almost everything we needed, and the furniture was comfortable. I would definitely consider renting here again in the future.These things would be helpful to add to your information about this rental. - Information on how to use the gas fireplace (there was none and it would have been nice on the very rainy first day)- clarity on whether it is ok to use the kayaks that are there- a larger hot water tank. (Showers had to be quick not to run out of hot water.)- Making clear that during Covid times, one should bring dish towels and bath mats as well as sheets and towels.

Very comfortable, relaxing, delightful pier extending into the tidal marshes (altho difficult to get in and out of our kayaks from the pier). We don't use AC, so more screens on windows would be appreciated, but we spent many hours reading on the screened back porch both before and after our daily bike rides to the beach. VERY quiet and good neighbors. Highly recommend. A sprayer on the end of hose would be nice for cleaning off sand before entering the house.

The only difference from then and now was we rented a home, (not camping) which was Turn of the Creek. We couldn't have asked for a better place. It was quiet and had its own dock on the bay water. Very clean and within walking distance to shopping and eating if you didn't want to drive. The beach is only a few minutes away by way of car. We were very pleased and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is planning on going there!

Reviewer Comments: The location is everything here - close enough to walk to nearby restaurants and shops but with a fabulous view from the back of the house. Kitchen is adequate if you’re making very simple food but not much equipment. Rest of the house is reasonably furnished, good wifizWe had issues with rented towels and sheets not being in the house when we arrived and they are pretty poor quality.I’ve never been asked to vacuum a holiday home at the end of my stay and usually go on holiday to avoid that sort of thing... and with the rugs they have here it’s not a fun FLS to attempt!

Calling to mind the "Ramble On" lyrics, "Thanks... for such a pleasant stay," the cottage is just right for a couple, all the requisite amenities, and the site is really ideal, a perfect distance from the beach for biking and walking, to kayaking or crabbing or bird watching from the dock, to milky way immersion and shooting star gazing, and just catching the breeze at anytime on the rooftop deck -- we had a truly wonderfully thoroughly enjoyable week. Much obliged!

Turn of the creek was a wonderful place to stay while me and my 3 kids explored Chincoteague and Assateague islands. Place was spotless and had everything we needed. Sunrises on the dock were amazing.

Simple peaceful retreat with water access. Not luxurious but very cute and well located.

We loved spending a few days off season at this property! I can't imagine a cuter little cottage in Chincoteague (we come here several times a year) or a more peaceful place to relax. Highlights are: the view (amazing pier onto a creek off oysters bay), the amazing screened in porch and rooftop terrasse (can see sunset and watch stars at night), water access (launched kayaks straight from the back yard, doesn't get better than that!), nice updated decor, roomy enough for our family of 4, good choice of puzzles, proximity to nature reserve and all restaurants/shopping etc. We plan to go back! However, I do think the place could use a few small updates and this is why I'm not giving it a perfect score: - seat cushions in dining room are very stained and moldy. Kinda gross and in need of replacing. Same with bath mats. - the furniture in seating room is outdoor furniture and very uncomfortable. Throw pillows were also stained and a real loveseat and armchair would make this space so much cosier and comfier (for watching tv for instance) - gas fireplace did not work nor did DVD player (we reported it to rental company). I called the rental office about the fireplace on our first night there and they never got back to me. We also weren't sure how to turn on the fireplace because there are no welcome guide or directions in the unit. We discovered outdoor seat cushions tucked away with a stroller on the porch on our last day! Had no idea there would be kayaks already there either from description....knowing those things would be helpful ahead of time. -kitchen is fine but has the basic stuff only. It would be great to add steak knives, a toaster, a few more utensils... - no hairdryer in bath -if you're going to ask people to sweep and vacuum before they leave, please provide a decent broom! And trash bags for the kitchen... - consider replacing shower curtains with something a bit better quality. They were like cheap plastic bags, very thin and ineffective. These are all small things and we still really enjoyed our stay! For the price, it was totally worth it! But don't expect luxury!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rent a house on the island several times a year and have yet to rent the same house twice. While we adore staying in different locations every time, this house may be the exception. It has a lovely marsh view and a good lay out. It is close to town but set in a quiet neighborhood so the best of both worlds. The kitchen is well appointed (even has a knife sharpener!) and the house has a cozy airy feel. Can't wait to drink my morning coffee on the upper deck while watching the sunrise over the marsh again!
