The Space:

Perched on a soft ridgeline, Bloomwood offers breathtaking views from sunrise to sunset. Every window frames a different postcard moment - mist drifting through the trees, golden paddocks stretching to the horizon, kangaroos gathering at first light, and the serene dam reflecting the colours of the sky. The surrounding gardens are lush and lovingly maintained, creating peaceful spaces to wander, read, or simply breathe.



Inside, the home unfolds across two warm and welcoming levels. The upstairs master suite is a private retreat of its own, while the remaining bedrooms offer space, comfort and a sense of calm ideal for families and groups, complete with smart TV's in every bedroom. With three well-appointed bathrooms, one with a large egg bath, morning routines are effortless and relaxed.



Two inviting living areas make it easy to gather together or enjoy quiet moments apart. In winter, the slow crackle of the wood fire in the dining room sets the perfect backdrop for group dinners in, while the large gas log fire in the huge living space will keep everyone cosy and warm in the cooler months. Step outside and you’ll find one of Bloomwood’s most cherished features - the outdoor jacuzzi. Some booking platforms may refer to this as a “spa,” but for clarity, it is an outdoor jacuzzi, offering the perfect warm, bubbling escape after a day exploring the region. Set against the backdrop of expansive gardens and natural landscapes, it’s a truly magical spot at sunset.



The gardens continue to delight with stone-lined terraces, fruit trees, veggie beds and pockets of shade and colour throughout the seasons. There’s also a generous outdoor entertaining area with a dining table - perfect for long lunches and relaxed evenings beneath the stars.



For longer stays, Bloomwood includes full laundry facilities, including a washing machine and dryer, making the home both comfortable and practical for families and groups.



Bloomwood is wonderfully family-friendly. To make travelling with little ones easier, the home includes a toddler booster seat, a high chair, and a box of toys ready to spark imaginative play while the grown-ups unwind, please bring your own portacot though.



Despite its privacy and serenity, Bloomwood is conveniently close to Daylesford’s cafés, restaurants, mineral springs and boutiques. It offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility - a country escape where comfort, nature and warm hospitality come together beautifully.

The Neighborhood:

Beyond Bloomwood is Mount Franklin a striking extinct volcanic crater just 10 minutes north of Daylesford. Known for its perfectly formed cone and tranquil bush surrounds, it’s a favourite local spot for picnics, walking trails, and stargazing. The crater is encircled by a ring of tall gums and pine trees, creating a natural amphitheatre that feels both peaceful and otherworldly. Rich in Dja Dja Wurrung cultural significance, Mount Franklin offers a quiet connection to nature and history, all within easy reach of Daylesford’s cafes, mineral springs, and galleries.



Getting Around:

Exploring the region is a breeze, thanks to the well-connected network of country roads. Opting for self-driving is highly recommended as it provides the utmost flexibility and convenience. Please always drive to the road conditions and plan ahead, it’s not unusual to encounter unsealed roads and wildlife so please drive with caution.

Guests are required to complete our contactless checkin form which involves providing provide photo ID for insurance purposes. We pride ourselves on being good and respectful neighbours - We are a NO PETS, NO PARTIES, NO EVENTS property. Franklin Vale Retreat is a couples only retreat and therefore it is not suitable for children.



Different booking and travel platforms often use varying terms and language for spa-style bathing features. To avoid any confusion, please note that Bloomwood features 1 x outdoor Hot Tub, not an indoor Spa Bath.



IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We are now in the Fire Danger Period, which may begin as early as October and extend through to May, depending on conditions. CFA restrictions are in force, and no open flames are permitted at any time. This includes fire pits, wood-burning fireplaces, and any internal or external fires - these are strictly not allowed and form a firm house rule. All properties are equipped with safe alternative heating options for your comfort, and during this period we do not supply wood or kindling.
