Wonderful long weekend away. Very cute. Welcoming cabin with all the amenities, lots of games and fun toys for kids, and a wonderful outside play area. Close to Leavenworth and lake Wenatchee, and lots of hiking and biking trails
Took a family trip over the holidays and booked Cabin time to rest and hangout. We absolutely loved our stay the cabin is exactly has pictured but even more beautiful in person. We enjoyed the amenities, the Mountain View, and the snow. Next time weâre in town we will be booking again.
Les points faibles : Communication et emplacement
DO NOT recommend at winter time!
For anyone seeking a nostalgic experience reminiscent of teenage years under watchful eyes, this accommodation may fit the bill. Upon our check-in, the supervisor provided a warm welcome; however, the following morning brought an unexpectedly intrusive visit to ensure we hadnât increased our party size. Privacy is virtually nonexistent, as the rental property directly faces the owner's residence. In fact, you could easily catch a glimpse of their television from the kitchen while doing the dishes. The hot tub area leaves much to be desired, featuring a small fence bordering the forest, seemingly intended to keep away inquisitive squirrels and deer. Yet, just 30 feet away, owners are also treated to an unfiltered view of the naked guests. To top it off, a large, unattended dog frequently sauntered toward our porch, leaving smelly reminders of its presence behind. These various annoyances ultimately detracted from our overall experience.
The checkin process was awful. I did not receive some of the emails so we did not get the address or key code till after 500. Then it was 53 in the house and the heater really did it work well. It would of been nice to have sone vottle water in the frog. There was no outside garbage cans so i had to leave the garbage in the kitchen sink. The comunication was really bad from host to frbo.. the beds were very hard and very little blankets for as cold as the house was. I was glad i had brought blanket of our own .
Our family was instantly at home in this cabin as it was very clean, well laid out, and overall pretty much matched the online description well. The hot tub was wonderful and we made it a point to take a dip at least once a day. The kitchen has the basics that you need to cook pretty much anything. There's a little loft room at the top of the stairs with a nice big tv that turned out to be a favorite hang-out spot for our family. The master bedroom is upstairs and has windows on three sides. For about 1/2 our stay there was a steady breeze that flowed through that room and made it the most amazing place to relax. The other two bedrooms are downstairs and are fine. One of them has a bed that's too firm for our tastes, but the other two beds plus the bunk in the master are comfy. There are fun games plus a nice portable bluetooth speaker. The location is quiet other than the occasional semi driving by. It's not quite as private as it looks at first. There are homes on two sides and while there is a decent amount of tree's between them, you can definitely see through to the other properties. It's totally fine, but just don't expect totel seclusion. There's a walkable neighborhood if you take a right out of the driveway. Lake Wenatchee is AMAZING and just 12 minutes away to get to the swimming area, while Leavenworth is just a half hour away. Overall this was one of the best cabins we've stayed at and would definitely come here again!
One of our weirdest VRBO experiences!
First, the code was not sent to me 24 hours prior to arrival. I was under the impression that the host thought the website would send it, but it did not. I had to request the code the day of arrival which made us a bit nervous.
Upon arriving, my daughter was excited to sleep in the loft bed. She came downstairs very discouraged, saying the bed was full of crumbs and there was a piece of pepperoni on it. So, we spent our first couple of hours of vacation laundering the bedding.
The first night we realized we werenât alone. There were mice in the ceiling above the two downstairs bedrooms that made falling asleep and early mornings.. exciting.
Finally, this was the first time we had ever stayed next door to the hosts. If youâre looking for privacy, you wonât get it. We had four interactions with the host (who was pleasant, we were just looking for isolation) in the four nights we stayed.
She came over and introduced herself the first evening. The second time, no garbage bags had been left in the house so we reached out to her to see if we were missing where they were. She had forgotten to put any in the cabin and couldnât get us any until the following morning. So we saw her when she dropped of the bag (at our request), then again when her dog ran over as we went out to take a walk, and then again when she came over to take the garbage out to the road. Nice place, but donât expect isolation.
The place was beautiful and clean just as pictured. It has great window treatments in the bedrooms- sometimes short term rentals donât put up good blinds or shades and you get bright sunshine as soon as sunrise. So this was not that- yay.
Some minor complaints- the AC was a portable window thing that only cooled the first floor living room. Even with the bedroom doors open, it got hot at night. The beds were hard and covered with those squeaky waterproof covers common in rentals. I have two toddlers have waterproof covers on every mattress in my home. None of them are the plastic squeaky ones. I wish theyâd pay a little more for a for comfortable experience.
They didnât provide body wash. They had a two in one shampoo conditioner that we made due with. They did provide some other things like toothbrushes and makeup remover wipes. The lack of body soap was kind of odd.
All in all it was good and quaint and a great place to crash after a day at the lake. I would return for snow activities but perhaps look for somewhere else that is cooler if returning in the summer months.
The host was super communicative even when we messaged her late at night about the wifi password. Thank you!!!
Nice cabin, we had trouble getting the address and check in instructions in a timely manner.
Nice clean cabin. We had trouble getting the address and check in instructions in a timely manner (we received then AFTER check in time and only after calling VRBO support because we couldnât get ahold of the owner. The cabin was as described, nice, clean and roomy. Very close to neighbors. It is right next to a busier road. All in all I think weâd choose somewhere else to stay next time.
My family and I loved this cabin and the location, it was perfect. The town of Leavenworth is not far but we picked this location to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and get away from the crowds.
We had a blast staying here, plenty of space for 6 adults! And a cozy place to watch tv at the end of the day.
I agree with all other reviews, this is a great cabin but I will add that it did not feel very private. When you look outside the kitchen window (which has no blinds) you can see the sturdy fence, and the entirity of the owners home behind it. The fence doesnt cover much, but is quite sturdy.
The other note is there are no trails within walking distance. There is no public beach access except at wenatchee beach park, a 10 minute drive.
As the original owner, Cabin Time was built in the heart of this huge outdoor recreational area, situated halfway between Leavenworth and Steven's Pass Ski Resort. Minutes from Lake Wenatchee and Fish Lake. The 2 hr. commute from Seattle to the cabin makes it especially easy to get away and enjoy some sun and hotter dryer weather during Seattle's spring and early summer. As much as we enjoy the property in the summer, one of our favorite winter memories was of fantastic skiing with the kiddos and friends; Leavenworth site seeing and wine tasting; and innertubing Ski Hill. Especially during cabin downtime, smile thinking about not being able to pull the kiddos away from their snow forts, cozy football games on the TV, board games and books, walks and the hot tub. Throw in a snow ball fight and good game of cards... Overall, it is a getaway that is easy to enjoy. Even for grandparents and families with a loaded down minivan. Unload in minutes with an all level lot with plenty of parking and start that vacation!
The wide and 'L' shaped driveway makes for ample level parking for multiple vehicles, boats and boat/snowmobile trailers.
Our favorite spring ritual is hiking up the Dirty Face Mountain trailhead just behind the Ranger Station (1-2 mins. away). Wild flowers, waterfall, and incredible view! Of course the Hidden Lake hike is a must do as well. Grandma and Grandpa gave it their two thumbs up. So much to do all within 1 minute to 25 minutes away that you can't do it all. You can't. But you'll definitely have fun trying.
