Sunny, private, and peaceful 2 bedroom abode with beautiful views over Karori.
Enjoy all day sun with beautiful sunrises and sunsets at this peaceful and centrally located Karori home. Wake up to the sound of the kÄkÄ birds flying by and tƫī singing in the trees. There are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a king single and trundle. Stunning views over the bush clad hills with a short walk to an easy trek that takes you to the Wrights Hill Lookout. Positioned between Zealandia and MÄkara Peak Mountain Bike Park, and close to Wellington City Centre.
NÄlani was lovely as host. Very accommodating and everything was lovely and clean. The beds were very comfortable, but the pillows could have been a bit better. The views were spectacular and the birds were a treat.
Kia ora, I first came to Aotearoa from the Hawaiian Islands as a student interested in the shared relationships between MÄori and Kanaka Maoli and the natural environment. I love to travel and feel as though I am still getting to know this beautiful country. Two decades later after arriving as a university student, I am still here and now I work as a Lecturer in Pacific Studies at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington. I am an adventurer at heart so I enjoy being a host and sharing about this stunning place. I am also, first and foremost, a mother so our home is quiet and located in a peaceful, safe neighbourhood. We have a little dog who you might meet or see. Arohanui
We opted to buy a home in Karori because of its proximity to excellent schools, including the university where I work, and for the gorgeous natural environment surrounding our home. We have stunning views over the bush reserve and the home gets all day sun as well as captivating moonrises. The home is located near shops, a library, and public swimming pool, as well as Zealandia and a world class mountain biking park. It is approximately 10-15 minutes by car to the Wellington City Centre, so quite central while also being quiet, safe, and peaceful.
I call our home "The KÄkÄ Nest" because we often have KÄkÄ birds come to visit. They are very curious and intelligent. You can hear them flying by at dawn and dusk sounding quite pre-historic. It is wonderful to witness the population of native birds flourishing once again with the Zealandia Nature Sanctuary nearby. We also enjoy the song of Tƫī and RĆ«rĆ«. It is a beautiful spot.
