Tucked into a quiet bay on beautiful Four Mile Lake, Four Mile Memories is a cozy, classic cottage that blends nostalgic charm with all the comforts of today. Just a short drive from the GTA, this charming back-split-style cottage sleeps up to 6 guests and is thoughtfully laid out for family fun, couples' retreats, or quiet getaways from the city.
From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice how well this property is designed for group stays with three clearly marked parking spaces, a flat grassy lawn perfect for yard games, and a lake-facing deck that calls for morning coffee and sunset chats. Inside, you’ll feel right at home with its bright and welcoming layout. The large eat-in kitchen is equipped with updated appliances (including a dishwasher and microwave), and the open-concept living room featuring a gas fireplace, board games galore, and a brand new sofa sets the stage for cozy evenings together.
The cottage features three well-appointed bedrooms. The primary bedroom boasts a king bed and lake views you’ll never tire of. The second bedroom, with a Queen bed and space for a playpen or two, is ideal for families. The third, located off the lower living room, is perfect for another couple looking for their own quiet space. You'll also find a handy powder room off the foyer, a full bathroom with tub/shower combo, plus bonus work-from-the-lake amenities—an office nook with monitors, keyboard, and mouse, and high-speed WiFi.
Please note - there is a composting toilet in the 3-piece bathroom adjacent to the office, extra caution and care are to be taken when using this toilet. Two other “regular” toilets are available on the upper level.
Outdoors, this property truly shines. The lakeside area is made for making memories: enjoy lounging in the shade of the gazebo, dining at the water’s edge, or paddling out in the provided kayaks. While the natural lake bottom is soft underfoot (bring water shoes!), swimming and wading are still a joy, especially from the concrete steps. And when it’s time to wind down? Head back to the deck for lakeside appetizers and a toast to the perfect cottage day.

2 TVs - Large main floor TV has a firestick with access to Rogers Xfinity (with Crave), Apple TV and Sportsnet. Some other channels may be there, but we can't guarantee access due to rules on password sharing (ie. Netflix and Disney). The Large TV is also equipped with a Google Chromecast so you can use your own accounts. There is no channel reception or DVD player.

Hypoallergenic, non shedding dogs are welcome; sorry no shedding dogs or other pets due to allergies
Please note that, according to the municipality’s bylaws, all dogs must be leashed or tethered on the property when outside. Dogs are not permitted to roam leash-free.
This cottage is in the City of Kawartha Lakes; Licence # STR2025-345. The Municipal STR Licence restricts the cottage to maximum 6 people at any given time during your stay. The Municipality requires rental guests sign a Rental Guest Code of Conduct. It will be sent to you upon booking for electronic signature.
Linens are provided – please bring your own outdoor towels
Post departure cleaning is arranged immediately following your check out time. Please ensure the short pre-departure cleaning checklist is completed and you have fully checked out of the cottage by your departure time to avoid any additional cleaning fees.
Arrival time is 4:00 pm and departure time is 11:00 am for all stays
Garbage disposal is required prior to departure
Electric vehicles: EV charger system for EV vehicles, and you may charge your Tesla if you have the EV/Tesla adaptor.
Parking: Room for 6 vehicles
Cell signal: Poor/intermittent (not reliable), landline available with unlimited US & Canada


Accessibility

There are a large number of stairs or some stairs without a railing which could pose a challenge, Would be difficult to enter the water without assistance from someone.
It is a backsplit, so there are 3 sets of short stairs to get down to the walkout, and then a set of stairs to get down to the waterfront. It is not hard, but if someone has mobility challenges it could be challenging.




Waterfront The cottage features 100 feet of waterfront with concrete steps providing easy access to the lake. The bottom is soft and muddy, and while it’s possible to wade in, the water deepens quickly—so less experienced swimmers should wear lifejackets and be accompanied. The water is clear, with minimal weeds near the shore and dock thanks to regular maintenance, though weeds may be present farther out. A few spare fishing rods are available for guest use.
Sun Exposure Southwestern exposure.
Boating The Cottage has a dock. You may tie up your boat at the end of the dock, but you must launch your boat at the nearby boat launch located nearby at 2 Birchglen drive at the corner of Birchglen drive and Hillside Drive.


Close-By Attractions

Indian Point Provincial Park. Located on the north end of Balsam Lake, this park features one of the longest undeveloped shorelines in the Kawartha Lakes region. (20 mins)

Wild Country Disc Golf. This course is open seven days a week by appointment. The teepad for hole 3 offers a great vantage of the course and a unique spot for selfies! (20 mins)
Lock 34, Fenelon Falls. Lock 34 is located on an island, with waterfalls on the lower side of the lock station. Many unique shops and restaurants are within walking distance, as well as Garnet Graham Beach Park. (20 mins)
Winter Activities. Ice fishing is available (when ice conditions permit - equipment not provided), and the cottage is near snowmobiling trails.
