Location and property are great. Having a private lawn and private access to the beach is incredible. When we arrived on a Thursday the fireplace wasn’t working. Reached out to the email on the welcome letter Thursday, Friday and Saturday, received a response after the 3rd attempt. We were promised a tech would come out to take a look that day but that didn’t happen, resulting in the unit not being operational for the entire stay. Separate heating unit as the primary so we were warm, but we were looking forward to reading by the fire while the storms were raging outside. Good weekend, could have been a little better.

Five stars — and then someSome places you visit. Others get under your skin. This one got under ours.Step out the back door and you’re already there — fire table on the deck, a fire pit just beyond, and nothing between you and the Pacific but a few steps of sand. We spent our days watching the tide come in and roll back out, losing track of time in the best possible way. The temperatures hovered around 60, but with wall-to-wall sunshine every single day, it felt closer to 75 or 80 — the kind of warmth that soaks into you. We tried our luck clamming (the clams were less cooperative than we’d hoped), but the crabbers working the water nearby were hauling in serious catches — and happy to chat about it. And just across the way, a rookery of seals was doing what seals do best: lounging on the sand dunes without a care in the world.The house itself was everything a beach rental should be — comfortable, well-appointed, and stocked with everything you’d need, right down to the kitchen. On the cool coastal evenings we migrated between the deck’s gas fire table and the fire pit out back, both of which were exactly right for taking the chill off under a darkening sky.What made it complete was the people. Neighbors, locals, strangers passing by — everyone was genuinely warm and welcoming in that way that makes you feel like you belong somewhere, even if you’re just visiting.We’ll be back.
