Property was awesome, check in was difficult due to information needed at the last minute, ID and signature on documents not able to be done by phone.Property was not the one pictured advertised.Rustic and well lived in feel of the property was just right for a family.
We had plenty of space for our party of 12, we enjoyed the spa and the large kitchen. We had a great time there was only a few hiccups. We had a maintenance person walk into the house one morning and one of the ladders on the bunk beds was broken and my son fell when climbing into bed.
Itâs beautiful but old and needs some TLC. The patio was so filthy we didnât use it. Really needs some silverware. 5 spoons really not enough for 16 people maximum
The house overall was great. With that said here are a few minor grievances. We arrived about 3:30pm. We called to see if we could go in. Absolutely not. So we sat in our cars outside. Seemed a bit overboard. The house was very big and fully furnished. Unfortunately that does not include everything you will need. There was no pot holders. Only one pot to boil water. Very hard to make spaghetti for ten people. No salt and pepper. (To be fair the contract said no condiments) I wrongly assumed that did not include salt and Pepper. The downstairs bathroom by the living room toilet was not working. The jacuzziâs in the two bedrooms did not work. This sucked because that was one of the reasons we chose this house. The house sound system was disabled. They has a pool table and ping pong table but no ping pong balls and only one pool stick that was usable. Not one blow dryer in the entire house. Even Motel 6 gives you a blow dryer. The house was clean but could have used some minor repairs. Walls were dirty and the curtains could use a good washing. The stair case was beautiful but needed some minor repair. It is made of wood and was splintered on some of the steps. An accident waiting to happen. Like I said overall the house was great for ten people and the neighborhood was really nice. We did have an ant problem but when we called they dropped off ant spray right away.
A couple of the toilets didn't work; the dishwasher doesn't work; they only provide 1 towel per person and no towels for hot tub. none of the bathroom outlets worked, they had repairmen come, but took 5 hours of our time that we had to be there and ruined our plans. The response time from management company was great. They have washer, but you need to bring your own detergent. The kitchen and living area are huge..great for all of us. We had plenty of room. Also, you have to remove your own trash when you leave or there's a fee of 25 per trash bag left. There are no spices (salt, pepper, sugar, etc) Just plan ahead.
Itâs a big house. I liked that there was hot water wihich in the last two houses I stayed in Big Bear there was hardly hot water. All the stores were really close to the house. I really liked it
Very good big house, seeing the reviews i was expecting problems with the house. But everything turned out okay. Great house if you have a big group! My group enjoyed the house very much.
The house is big with good sized bedrooms with on suites. Needs some maintenance with plumbing fixtures and other random features. Otherwise it suited our group of five adults and could handle more easily.
We loved the spaciousness of this house. We could all sit together at the big table and everyone had their own bathroom. A few things need repair: one upstairs bathroom light in the toilet room didnât work. The hot tub worked fine but the siding and the cover need repair.
Our family of 16 enjoyed our time here. The space was great for our group, beds comfy, a great kitchen, dining area... The only issue is that with 8 children (8-14) to say we had to be quite when outside was a bit of a challenge.
We took our adult children and grandchildren to Big Bear for a family vacation. Check-in was easy, and the woman who checked us in was very nice. This house was perfect for our size group. Having 5 master bedrooms was great!
We loved eating and playing games at the big dining table. Kitchen was very well stocked! The garage was roomy for our cars and bikes!
There were definitely some quirks. The Jacuzzi lid was broken, so it was quite heavy to close and very loud when we closed it. It would have been nice to have a cheat sheet for the Jacuzzi, as it would sometimes go to sleep mode and weâd come out to a lukewarm Jacuzzi. There were knobs missing on cabinet doors, a leg broken on a bedroom ottoman, blinds that were broken, and little things that come with owning a house. But the good definitely outweighed the quirks. Lots of toilet paper and enough towels for our group. The washer & dryer
were very helpful! All major appliances were in good working order. The fridge is a great size.
Kevin answered my questions before I booked, but once I booked, I couldnât get a hold of him to answer other questions. That was a little frustrating.
Overall, this is a fantastic place and we would definitely stay here again!
The property was fabulous for our group of 14 which included 5 couples. The kitchen space was fantastic and there was plenty of space for everyone to hang out and play games. We would definitely rent again.
Huge house in a great location!!! Each room had its own bathroom and the kitchen was great for our family meals. The stove was not working but they provided a resolution with a counter air fryer/oven. The backyard was perfect for snow play. We would definitely stay again.
This home is very nice and was a great deal for the price we paid in mid February. Very large and clean. Nice and cozy upon arrival, after a pleasant and efficient check in at the office to receive the door code and instructions. The gigantic garage fit a sprinter van easily. There were only 8 ppl in our party and there was enough TP and towels. Had there been more ppl, we would've run out, esp if the hot tub had been used more. We left a bag a bagels on the counter over night and they got nibbled on by mice, but that was our bad. To be expected in a mountain home this time of year. We saw no other signs of "wildlife." The oven was not working while we were there and the folks at Five Star were very responsive, keeping me informed of the plan to make it right. They sent a Brandon over who confirmed it was officially broken, then contacted the owner who had a very nice countertop oven delivered on day 3 of our stay, just in time to heat up lasagna. The owner also reimbursed $200 of our stay to compensate for the other baked dinner items we brought but were unable to cook on day 2. I deducted 1 star for the oven being out when we could've used it, but overall I'm satisfied with the way it was handled and pleased with the experience we had at this home. Side note - the 2 sets of bunk beds in the game room have trundles beneath, so 6 kids could crash there. We'll probably be back with our friends and their kids!
1 missing items (pillows, garbage collector, broken blender, the oven wasnât working, dirty dishes, no snow shovel, grill didnât work, wine glasses, table mats, hangers)
2 the music system didnât work
3 the last day internet didnât work
4 several TVs didnât work
Our stay in Big Bear was Amazing! I did read some reviews but I never liked to go off them! And Iâm glad we got to experience the home for ourselves.
This home was super cozy , very clean and in a perfect distance of everything to do. We will Definitely be booking again!
