For family & friends, well-tended & secluded Hill Country retreat on 10 beautiful acres with dry creek and a stargazer's fire pit – minutes from Wimberley Square but worlds away. Enjoy the relaxing screen porch, quiet garden, walking trails, wildlife, picnic & starry nights at the fire ring at this private, gated ranch. A well-stocked kitchen & incredibly cozy furnishings will have you unwind in no time.

The space
Enjoy this newly upcycled Hill Country homestead hidden in 10 wooded acres only 9 miles from Wimberley Square! This inviting and thoughtfully furnished 4 bedroom / 3.5 bathroom retreat sleeps up to 16 people comfortably. Barefoot-friendly floors, a peaceful ambiance and open spaces make this beautifully functional farmhouse a gem you will want to return to again and again.

LIVING & DINING
The living area provides ample seating to wind down in the evenings with a queen sofa, full loveseat, 2 comfortable armchairs and several extra mid century and bamboo chairs. The dining area hosts great holiday dinners with a beautiful family table for 8 and seats another 2 on the adjacent island counter stools. Enjoy a relaxing morning, afternoon or evening on the (bug proof) screen porch, which is great for board games or big outdoor dinners in the evenings. Find additional dining space outdoors in the adjacent main deck & the picnic table on the lower grounds. Ample storage space next to the refrigerator provides an accessible pantry for guests' groceries.

KITCHEN
Start your day with your favorite coffee or tea, watching the deer from the back deck in the early hours. The newly built, compact and well-stocked kitchen packs everyday tools, small appliances and cookware (including non-stick, cast iron, a crockpot and wok) to cook great meals together. A gas stove / oven, refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and microwave provide modern amenities to fully enjoy your time. Savor the minutes - this is when the best memories are shared!

BEDROOMS
The private Master bedroom (queen) with en suite sleeps two (2) on the main floor. Upstairs, the West and East bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom. Each upstairs bedroom (one queen and one twin in each) sleeps three (3). The bunk house has 2 queen beds, a set of twin bunk beds, and an extra twin bed. The queen sleeper sofa in the living area accommodates two (2) more. The main level also provides a convenient half bath and laundry area near the back deck French doors.

OUTDOORS & GROUNDS
The open living, eating and kitchen areas on the main floor access a wall of French doors leading to a spacious deck. With lounging, eating and grilling space (don't forget the bag of charcoal!), the deck steps down to the grounds, picnic area and nearby fire ring. Take a seat in the surrounding adirondacks for the best night show in starry evenings - great for stories late into the night :). We have a hot tub that is great for a sundown soak, and nature trails all over the property for you to explore.

Enjoy privacy and quiet nature on the grounds as you wander through strands of oaks and junipers. Meditate and breath deeply through the quiet garden. Or walk down and explore the large rocks and ravine of Juniper Grove's seasonal dry creek. Can you spot the deer paths? Here, the land keeps kids of all ages exploring Hill Country nature at its best.

Guests have access to both houses and the entire property. Privacy is utmost as you don't share the property with other guests during your visit. Feel free to explore the grounds, seasonal dry creek, quiet garden, and fire ring throughout the 10-acre grove. Please note that the entire property is NOT fenced so a watchful eye on kids and pets is prudent.

Please be respectful of neighbors and enjoy the ample property within its boundaries. You will find an overhead map of the property and its borders in the Welcome Book.

Other things to note
Cajun Moon is located in the Texas Hill Country. As such, there are many common critters and wildlife that roam the area including spiders, deer, armadillos, etc. Please remember that you’re in true countryside; we recommend closed-toe shoes outdoors and a healthy dose of common sense when moving around the property and rolling terrain. This inviting homestead has stairs and is not child-proof. Keep a watchful eye on children and pets at all times.

Internet speeds are great for surfing the web, email, etc. Due to the seclusion of the property, we rely on a line-of-sight connection which may not be fast enough for HD video streaming.

Lovely Getaway

We truly enjoyed our stay at Cajun Moon Ranch. This property is nicely tucked away, but convenient to the town and attractions of Wimberley. The house is adorable and well-stocked. It was perfect for our group of 7, but could easily accommodate a much larger group. The host was responsive and helpful.

Post Christmas Gathering

Our stay was wonderful. The property is so peaceful and the walking trails are an added bonus. My son proposed to his girlfriend on our trip and it was the perfect location for it. We all had a blast walking the trails and hanging out by the campfire. We will definitely be returning.

Peaceful and Relaxing

We were in town for a wedding and needed something that was close to the venue and had enough space for us and our family from out of state. The original post said it only slept 10 but after talking with the owners we found out it would sleep 16 which was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for everyone. Very quiet and relaxing scenery. Will definitely go back.

Don't hesitate to book Cajun Moon--this is one of the best rental properties we've ever stayed at. The house was well-appointed, with a fully stocked kitchen, and full of comfortable and thoughtful amenities. Our group of 8 celebrated Christmas here and it felt like home for the weekend.

Had an amazing time in this home! So nice to be where the kids ages 6-14 could run around, create their movie outside, enjoy the faux fire with using our flashlights( fire ban) the hot tub as a cold tub, the bunk house, the table for games. It was perfect. The host was available and easy to contact when I had a question. The AC WAS WONDERFUL! Grateful for a place like this to make memories with our grandkids.

We really enjoyed our stay... Plenty of space for all of us, great a/c, location was ideal and back deck was great! The only negative was housekeeper got I'll so place was not adequately supplied with towels but we managed. Yrs, we would stay here again!!

We had a great time. Everyone loved being there. Fun walking the trails and took some awesome family photos. Rustic modern and homey. Has everything you need. Clean and comfy beds. Thanks for allowing us to stay. Only 4 min from Cedar Ranch where we attended my nephews wedding. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful property

Our group of 8 friends stayed here due to its close proximity to the Cedars Ranch wedding venue, but we all agreed we wished we had stayed additional nights. The property was beautiful and so peaceful, and the house had everything we needed. We will definitely return if ever in the area again.

Wonderful family retreat!

Fantastic location - close enough to town, yet with a nature feel. Walks along the various nature paths were delightful. Sitting around the fire pit was relaxing. House was just right for a family stay.

Cajun Moon Ranch

Cajun Moon Ranch was peaceful and filled with trees and wildflowers. We loved sitting out by the fire pit and wandering around the property. It was secluded, but we did hear neighbors from time to time. Everything was in good working order and the owner was accommodating and helpful. I especially liked all the outdoor spaces. The home was charming and cozy and well laid-out for our party. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. I liked looking at the records and the artwork. Very cool place to relax and enjoy nature.

Wonderful place for our girls weekend!

The property has so much charm, it was the perfect place for our girls weekend trip. Not a bad drive into Wimberley for lunch one day, but we could have easily stayed on the property all weekend. Loved seeing the deer in the mornings. Would definitely rent again!

Farmhouse + family + spring break

We enjoyed our stay at the hip farmhouse...the star gazer fire pit, the nature hike, the hot tub, playing games and having meals with the family. The kids loved seeing the deer! It was quiet and had everything we needed for a short getaway. Only negatives were the glassware which looked worse for wear, the outside plants were unfortunate victims of the recent freeze and the half bath/laundry was crowded. Overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

The place was clean and very well taken care of. We also had everything provided to use we needed for cooking etc. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking. Mark property owner was also attentive and responsive when needed. GREAT PLACE!

Fun Family Weekend at Hill Country Farmhouse

Our family had a wonderful time this past weekend. Our host, Mark, was great to work with. He made sure we had to issues checking in and after a heavy thunderstorm, checked in on us as well. The house and property had everything we needed and plenty of room inside and out for our family of six to have a weekend of fun and relaxation together. The house is a short drive to nice restaurants and activities and we enjoyed seeing all the animals that roam the property.
