This lovely and unique getaway is ready to be your next home-away-from-home in the incredible community of Sea Ranch! With a bright and airy interior, spacious back patio with a gas grill, and enough room for the whole family, guests of all ages will find peace and comfort in a tranquil setting. Prepare full-course meals in the well-equipped kitchen with attached breakfast bar, dine together at the table for four, or head outside and enjoy the fresh air blowing in off the Pacific. And after a long day of exploring the area, the private hot tub is the perfect place to relax.

This natural wonderland can be enjoyed from the beautiful Bluff Top Trail - a quiet path that follows the seven-mile shoreline between Black Point and Gualala Point Regional Park. Whether you're taking a leisurely walk or a scenic morning run, keep your eyes peeled for harbor seals, California sea lions, and passing grey whales. Be sure to visit the incredible Sea Ranch Chapel, less than a mile away. Guests will also have access to the Del Mar Recreation Center, Moonraker Recreation Center, and the Ohlson Recreation Center, all offering shared pools, tennis courts, and more.

Just a few issues
Our stay coincided with the huge coastal waves that affected the whole California coast. Absolutely beautiful. Weather was great. But the house...it needs lots of repairs and upgrades. The heater was temperamental and would not come on at all on the first night, we froze. When it did work it only worked sporadically. The tub faucet in the downstairs bath would not shut off completely and dripped a stream of water no matter what we tried. Tub design was awkward, especially for an older person. Downstairs toilet did not flush properly. The kitchen faucet was difficult to turn on because it was so old. Window screens were broken with large animal sized holes. The design of the home itself was odd, wood stove in the middle of the room? It could use some upgrading. Location was good but would never rent this house again.

Sweet Retreat
The bed was very comfortable. Hot tub was just the right temperature. The downstairs bath was a little awkward to get in and out of but otherwise a very nice stay.

Appalling an owner would list this property. Shabby and neglected inside and out, from the broken, rusty window shades, to the slow-draining sinks, thrift store furniture, 80s appliances (no toaster, broken oven and stove)…. Even the toilet paper holders were broken. Five nights costing mid four figures. At that price, and the favorable “reviews” on this and other sites, who would have expected such an unkempt dump? Filthy. Walked around in socks upon evening arrival. A few hours later, upon taking them off, they’d become thickly crudded with brownish scum. Disgusting. Duvet was uncovered. Who would sleep with that? Caked dirt around the door knobs and cabinet pulls, kitchen. drawers and counter edges. An 80s coffee maker with 80s era coffee detritus encrusted within the carafe. I ended up cleaning the kitchen —including the reeking stink coming from the kitchen sink disposer. Broken oven smelled like chemicals inside. All in all, nearly four figures per night. Awful Christmas gift.

Not a Comfortable Attractive Home
It is hard to love a home whose furnishings are old, unattractive uncomfortable and remodeled maintenance is overdue.. Two burners on the kichen stove don't light without a match. There is no outside lighting in the backyard. The downstairs bedroom is inadequately furnished with no reading lights. It's the owners that need to love this house if we are to love it.

Great location, spacious, needs some uplifts
We've been to Sea Ranch several times and have stayed in the hills (walk up cabin) and nearer the beach. You really can't go wrong no matter where you are. One Eyed Jack's is in a great location within walking distance (5-7 minutes) of two fabulous beaches - Shell and Tide Pools. Walk-on Beach is also super close. These are great beaches for kids since they're a quick staircase away. We saw seals and otters, foxes, and deer. The place has no view but that was to be expected. But huge windows in the living room and comfy, easy to clean (brush sand off) furniture make it a good home base. Complaints: The place is not well loved. Clearly it's run by a management group and not a homeowner. It feels like they don't care about it and know they can get people to rent it regardless. But we paid a significant price versus the other places we have stayed before and some thoughtfulness in the furnishings, kitchen items, and upkeep would be nice. Small updates would make a HUGE difference: For example, the horizontal blinds in the living room and dining area need to be replaced, and the dining table should be sanded down and refinished or replaced, same with the chairs. These are small touch ups that would make a big difference. The place also needs a deep clean. There are spider webs and dust behind most couches and shelves. As someone mentioned, the downstairs bath is funky. It's a super deep tub/shower. I thought it was kinda awesome but an fyi that if you have any mobility issues, it will be a problem. As another reviewer noted, the lack of window coverings in the upstairs bedroom make it light super early and hot in those rooms. Thankfully there are ceiling fans. But the owners should add blinds. I think we'd stay here again if the price went down a little. We stayed over a holiday weekend so it was probably priced higher than normal. Overall, the location is great. It's spacious. The kitchen stocked. Great light and windows.
