Unfortunately when we arrived the key safe code that had been provided was incorrect as was the contact number for the owners which was not a good start. Villa was a short walk along the main road to Pollensa and was very private . Villa was spacious but showers suffered from black mould and had a very bad odour. Beware of the deposit as it is paid in euros and the exchange rate seemed to have changed significantly in 2 months and when we due our deposit back this was quite a bit less than we paid despite no breakages or issues.
excellent property near the best beaches of puerto pollens
excellent property very well located near the best beaches of puerto pollensa and just a stroll away from Pollensa town.
The villa is just as good as the pictures and everything was working fine.
Highly recommended
This is a lovely villa. Comfortable and modern living and kitchen areas. Great round pool with steps and a shallow ledge. Quite a lot of stone flooring outside, so may get quite hot in the height of summer. Overall, a great villa.
The house is located in a wonderful area of the island with quick access to the airport (45min).
Very nice beaches are close by (starting at 10min by car).
Theoretically, one could walk to the old town of Pollenca, however, there is no sidewalk on the road so I would not recommend it- it takes 2-5min by car (depending on which side of the city you want to park) and there is enough parking available.
The house/grounds:
Nice and clean. A/C (a great relief at night in July...) and WIFI worked perfectly.
Not all dishes were cleaned to "our" expecations upon our arrival - our complaint was answered by "we will let the cleaning crew know to make a better job next time" -well...
It is very spacious for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids), probably still ok with 6 people (one bedroom has one bed with a pullout bed underneath it, so this could be a bit crowded).
Garden: well kept. had some nice soccer matches with my son.
The pool:
Fantastic. Clean. Big. Deep (up to 2.5m!). - may not be recommended for families with kids who can already crawl or walk but cannot swim since there is no fence/barrier around it.
Dickinson Villas:
Easy to communicate with (phone/email). We had one complaint (dirty plates, see above) and one request (provision of new chlorine tabs for the pool and a cleaning of the bottom of the pool) during out stay. The complaint was "noticed" and our request resultet in the the pool company running in, dropping a couple of chlorine tabs in the skimmer and running right off again (without cleaning of the pool bottom)- not a disaster but could have been handled a little better...
Overall great vacation. Can definitely recommend it.
The property and location were perfect for our cycling base. The accommodation has a lot of charm and has everything you need for a very relaxed and easy going departure from the rat race. The location, just outside Pollensa town on the Ma 10, was absolutely ideal for us - we hopped on the bikes and turned left outside the door for a mountain climb to Lluc monastery or right for a flat ride to Puerto Pollensa or Alcudia... the road passed Puerto leading to another great climb up to the lighthouse on Cap Formentor. A short walk along the main road puts you on the edge of the town and a short cut into the main square - there within 15 mins. We hired a car which we used for shopping at the local supermarkets (a Llidl and Euroski right next to each other, about 1.5km away) but there are smaller supermarkets within the town itself. The car was also useful for dropping off rubbish to the recycle bins which are near the supermarkets... bit of a hike otherwise and the rules of the accommodation do state to remove your own rubbish. The accommodation is older than some but endearing because of it (some of the cooking pots and pans could do with replacing but no grumbles on the facility other than the towels were small and in short supply... no pool towels at all). The details for entry to the villa were incomplete on the uploaded attachment, so gaining entry was a bit of a pain but got in eventually... Also the entrance could do with better visibility from the road...the trees need cutting back a little as it's difficult to see until you're right on top of the gate and the road is a main road ie. not great for slowing to 20km to find an entrance with a queue of cars behind :-/. We had a little cat come to visit during our stay which added to the homeliness of the place. I hope other guests look after her/him too. All in all - wonderful. Would definitely recommend the villa and the delightful town of Pollensa... we're planning another trip to the area very soon.
We recently returned from a two week stay in this lovely villa. It's rustic in style which we liked, and clean and tidy. The pool was an absolute delight! Big and deep and very inviting, we absolutely loved it. The villa is set in a large enclosed garden which is very private and not overlooked in anyway, and surrounded by mountain views. It took us 15 mins to walk into the beautiful old town which we did frequently for dinner but I would point out that the walk is along a road with no footpaths or lighting and whilst not a busy road it is a main road - not really a problem for us as our kids are teenagers but I wouldn't be happy doing it with young children or pushchairs. Two things we did feel could be better and easily sorted - The mattress in the main bedroom was so thin and hard, a bit like a futon, and made sleeping really uncomfortable - not greet for two weeks of (not) sleeping! Also the sun beds were fairly old and rusty, two had rusted through and broken and there was only one seat cushion for 6 beds - so these really need updating. I did enquire about the lack of a parasol and one appeared magically the next morning which was great and much needed! We found Dickinson Villas who manage the property to be helpful thoghout the booking process.
