Fantastic location in central Lisbon. Walking distance to dozens of restaurants, grocery, shopping, and Metro. Easy access to all the major attractions.
Host was great to deal with and helpful. Were able to provide us with an infant crib for infant.
We were very happy here: perfect for a family of four. We had trouble with the shower flooding but it was swiftly dealt with by the owner and we learnt not to use the rain shower head.
I did not stay at the property because the host canceled my booking 5 hours before I was due to Checkin.
Host asked me to pay in cash outside of the app for a cleaning fee that was not included in the cost and the tax per person. She told me 2 days before my stay. I asked that she make all charges go through the app and she never responded. I called VRBO for assistance and the host canceled my stay 5 hours before my check in. She was told not to cancel by VRBO.
I would have payed the extra charges (not listed in the description) if it had gone through the app. As per the VRBO rules do not pay outside of the app.
The apartment was adequate; however, I would not describe it as trendy. The apartment was certainly historical. The photos capture the apartment, perhaps when it was first available for renting, but they do not provide a full picture. Given the historical nature of the building, I expected steep stairs up to the second floor unit; I did not expect slopping floors inside the apartment. While it is described as a two-bedroom, one should be aware that the second bedroom is an internal room, with a small window that opens onto the kitchen looking at the back of the microwave. Perhaps, this is is minor issue for some; however, having a true appreciation of this fact before hand would have weighed considerably in making a decision to stay here. The beds were uncomfortable and could use replacing.
The pluses of the unit were: 1, having a washing machine, which was located on the back balcony inside a closet, and 2. the location. Within 15 minutes walk you could be in the lively alleys of the Barrio Alto and within 30 minutes all the way to the Carmo Convent, the Sta Justa lift, and the Praca do Comercio and the shopping districts around it.
