Five Pines Canin

Delightful stay at Lockhurst Hatch Farm B&B. Five Pines Cabin provides privacy in the woods with every modern convenience. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Compact haven

Very quiet and secluded. We stayed whilst our house was being renovated so not a holiday, but acted as our home. We both agreed it has everything you need for a short stay. It was lovely not hear any cars, just the noise of nature, including woodpeckers having a morning chat! Thank you Gill. The only negative for us was that in the time we were there we were left to clean. Had we been holidaying no doubt it would have been cleaned for us. No great hardship but did seem a little unfair.

Thank you for being lovely guests, I enjoyed our chats - hope you are now happily settled in your renovated home! I feel I should clear up your confusion / misunderstanding over cleaning; we are happy to let for any length of time from 2 days up to 6 months - we look after all our guests in the same way, no matter the length of stay! We are inspected annually by VisitEngland and therefore adhere to the standards they set out for self-catering accommodation. Please note we advertise as self-catering accommodation NOT serviced accommodation; this means our accommodation is cleaned internally at the start and end of each separate stay NOT during the stay. This is included in the price. The accommodation is fully equipped, again to VisitEngland's standards, so our guests have cleaning equipment should they wish to use it. Linen is changed weekly, again included in the price. There is a price reduction for a stay of 4 weeks plus which in part reflects the reduced costs of a longer stay. We are of course happy to arrange cleaning during the course of any stay for an additional charge. Hope that clarifies things!

Retreat in the Surrey Hills

Can't begin to say enough about this wonderful little cabin in the Surrey Hills and its owners Gill & Peter . This is our second stay to this property in 11 months and we look to continue to return because of all it offers. Great location to sit and relax , or walk across the fields to the local pubs , villages, etc etc. The cabin offers everything one could ask for ....It was spot on ! The owners were very helpful in offering directions to local attractions in the area, as well as catering to our needs .....which were few. I highly recommend anyone traveling to this area for relaxation , and a peaceful getaway.....this is a wonderful place. Again...can't say enough about the property ....only wish we were able to stay longer. We look forward to returning in the near future......Thanks again for sharing your property with us. Fantastic

We had a wonderful stay at Five Pines. The property is small but cosy and has everything you need. The surroundings are perfect, lots of footpaths for beautiful walks, and lots of places to see. More than enough for a two week stay. Gill was a perfect host.

Tranquil woodland heaven

This is a fantastic cabin and was exactly what was needed for a relaxing couple of nights. The cabin is set in amongst the trees and is fully kitted out. The shower was great as was the heating. We went on cold weekend and it doesn't take long for the cabin to heat up. The kitchen is well equipped. As for sleeping, the bed was absolute bliss. Thank you for the delicious chocolate cake too! We will definitely be back.

A Walker's Paradise

This delightful cabin lies tucked away behind some trees on the farmland of Lockhurst Hatch Farm. The first you'll notice is the picture postcard farmhouse. A public footpath, some hundred yards from the doorstep, will guide you in all directions through the Surrey Weald to reach Peaslake, Ewhurst, Shere, Gomshall, Albury, Shamley Green, Cranleigh or Abinger or to the Surrey peaks Pitch Hill, Holmbury Hill and Leigh Hill. Closeby is one of Britain's best pubs, with a warm welkom to walkers, William IV in Little London. No need to use your car! Interesting places to visit are Guildford, the county’s capital, and Dorking, with Denbies vineyard; the stately houses Polesden Lacey, Loseley House, Sutton Place and Wisley with its famous garden. London can be reached by train within the hour. The cabin, well fitting in the surrounding trees, offers an imaculate interior with beautiful wooden flooring and panelling and spotless white walls and ceilings. The kitchen/diner offers all you might wish: a comfortable settee, a diner table, both for two, satelite tv with dvd, wireless access to internet, and a complete kitchen with ceramic hub, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and a washer/dryer. They who prefer to prepare their own diner after a busy day of walking will not be disappointed in this kitchen. An agreable power shower, wash-stand and toilet in the bathroom and a comfortable twin bed in the bedroom. Everything according to the webside, well maintained and spotless clean. The always friendly and helpful Gill and Peter added to our joy in the fortnigt in this well kept secret in the Surrey Hills! At last we have found the perfect retreat in the heart of this beautiful county of which the poet George Meredith wrote: "Nowhere in England is richer foliage, or wilder downs and fresher woodlands" .

I love living in the countryside - it's so quiet and yet really close to Guildford & London. I love my garden, something is always changing. I am currently expanding my flower boarders at the expense of my vegetable patch! I'm usually really busy making beds, cleaning etc. - we have quite a few different places to stay on the farm. I love to play tennis at the local club when I can get away in time. Relaxation is a walk across the heath to the local pub for a catch up or just chilling out with one of my 4 lovely daughters!

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Lockhurst Hatch Farm dates from 1590 - the farm is set in its own valley with both pasture and woodland. I love living here because it is so secluded and unbelievably quiet - no close neighbours but easy reach of Guildford and London. Miles of open access heath and woodland on our doorstep.
