The accommodation was lovely, in a beautiful location. The breakfast provided was delicious and the hosts were very welcoming and accommodating for any requests. We had a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to recommend this property to others.
We loved this place! Spotlessly clean with comfy beds and well appointed bathroom. Laurence was a superb host; welcoming and friendly with lots of recommendations for walks and food. Weâd definitely stay again.
This was a home away from home for my daughter and I, as we were on a very special trip together! We were welcomed so warmly and Laurence very patiently helped us with several questions we had! The apartment is absolutely gorgeous and cozy and we loved our time there! We would revisit in a heartbeat!
Wonderful place. Wonderful hosts. Discovered that I had rented a flat from them in 1988 when I stayed in Shere for several months. Laurence and Jane are great folks. We will definitely come back to Shere and stay with them again!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Shere. The cottage is adorable, larger than it appears in the photos, and very comfortable. Laurence was very helpful and provided us with breakfast, which was great. The location was good for exploring the many sights nearby. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
Our family of four loved this sweet garden apartment. Comfortable, clean, and surrounded by flowers. This was a lovely escape. Laurence was helpful and kind--a warm host. Each morning we had fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt, and croissants...allowing us peace of mind to relax. Great nearby walks and ice cream too! We would love to visit again and highly recommend.
Unfortunately was unable to stay at the property due to Storm Bert. Found the owner to be v unreasonable when I asked if we could move the booking to another time he said it was a prime weekend booking and that trains were running which was not the case at all therefore suggesting that I was lying.
We arrived late and left very early, en route to Gatwick. Even so, Laurence accommodated us very well. This was such a delightful little apartment, and beautiful area, that next time we will stay two nights. It is more spacious than anticipated, and we really appreciated the comfy beds, the cleanliness, the nice bathroom, and wished we had had more time to linger over the wonderful Continental breakfast and the beautiful terrace and garden. Thank you, Laurence. Weâll be back!
Our stay in Shere was lovely. Just across the street was a delightful pub, as seen in The Holiday, and around the corner was the most beautiful local textile shop. While the accommodation was charming, I found it slightly difficult to navigate as an older person, due to many steps accessing the accommodation and within the property. I also worried that our conversations may disturb the neighbors, as we could hear them in their living spaces. Finally, whilst the Internet was strong in the second bedroom, we had no Wi-Fi or data elsewhere in the home.
We had a wonderful stay at Vaughans of Shere this past week. We were traveling with our 4 and 7 year old. The cottage has its own entrance and the hosts were extremely kind to us. They gave us restaurant recommendations and were very accommodating with our travel plans and flexible with us. I highly recommend staying here!
The stay for us was amazing. The rental has everything you need; spacious rooms, kitchen supplies, and it's easy to get any questions answered by Laurence. Also, you get access to a nice private yard and get to experience residing in a historical home.
Outside of the home you get everything you need in the quiet, historical, and unique town of Shere. We had a great time spending our mornings at Hilly's Tea shop, lunches at Dabbling Duck, and evenings at William Bray, meeting the neighbors and dogs.
There are many places to walk around Surrey Hills, to site see and discover. We plan to come back in the near future.
Great location for us. Lovely place, good breakfasts plus a couple of nice pubs with varied lunch menus. Might be slightly problematic for anyone with mobility issues - the doorways have tricky steps.
We had a lovely time. Thanks. JM.
We stayed here last weekend for our first anniversary and it is beautiful.
Kind and helpful hosts, exceptionally clean, perfect location for food and drink.
We highly recommend this stunning accommodation and location.
Quality, cleanliness and location are all excellent. But being picky - 4 of us were staying so 2 had to use the sofa bed which we found rather uncomfortable, in that having wire springs the occupants roll into the centre. Other than that we had an excellent stay and Laurence looked after us very well.
We loved this place, very cosy, spacious, clean and tidy. Good location for a walk seeing the countryside and lovely pubs in the area and 20 minutes away by car to Guildford shopping centre. Host were so accommodating and lovely.
We would love to visit here again. 5 star!
The property was clean and neat and well cared for. The manager, Laurence, was very friendly and helpful. The lay-out of the apartment was rather unusual in that I had to go through my friend's bedroom to get to the kitchen and lounge (both of which had steeply sloping ceilings which made cooking and moving around slightly awkward). But overall, I found it a pleasant place to stay.
A very thoughtfully designed apartment inside a beautifully kept old property. The hosts are very welcoming, friendly but not intrusive. All the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard. We could not recommend this enough.
