This place was amazing. Everything you can think of was available at the house. The boat dock made it extremely easy to keep our fishing boat right at the house the whole time. The road getting in was a little narrrow and tight but we mamaged just fine. Everyone was extremely friendly in the neighborhood. This was an unforgettable honeymoon trip, we hope to celebrate it here every year now. Thank you to our amazing hosts for allowing us to stay an extra day
Lovely well stocked house. Access to the water via a play dock where we could launch our own kayaks.Very pretty and peaceful over thanksgiving. With a well stocked kitchen for preparing thanksgiving dinner. We also managed to get door dash from a few restaurants which was great.
We lived, and grew up in the Kelseyville area.
Our family rented 3 houses on Willow. Hanging out cooking, paddling around, and some fishing, and visiting; it was a special experience.
The house was great and the owners were very responsive to questions and requests. Very relaxing to sit on the back deck upstairs each morning with coffee and evening with wine. Sunsets were amazing.
The Perch was absolutely gorgeous. We loved spending our day on the dock, using the diving board, and sitting around the fire pit. There were plenty of beds for our group and I will definitely be booking again.
Although the fishing wasnât that great, the stay was wonderful. We ran into a couple of mishaps due to the storm but all was resolved and had a several great days to enjoy the lake. We kayaked, fished, and used the paddle boat that was there. It was a wonderful stay overall. We all had a great time. It was plenty stocked with cookware, utensils, linens and plenty of room for sleeping and seating. The deck was wonderful. We enjoyed the outdoor areas. We would definitely stay again. Thanks Joe for checking in with us as well.
We had 4 adults, 2 kids & dogs, whom all enjoyed a fun 5-night stay at The Perch. Soda Bay was lovely, quiet and serene, with lots of great nature watching. Look out for the Osprey nest on the telephone pole right out front! The boat lift was not available (ownerâs boat occupied) and we thought it would be, but there are whips on one side of the dock, which worked out. Overall, we had a great stay, but only caught one bass fish, despite going out daily. We hope to return to The Perch at Soda Bay one summer. Thank you!
This place was a lake dream! Lakefront property with kayaks and pedal boat included. There is a boat dock that we didn't use. Gorgeous panoramic lake views. Very pretty area. House itself had lots of family entertainment: 3 TVs with streaming, board games. Comfy beds. Well appointed kitchen. Very comfortable and nice place!!
Only caveats would be not suitable for early walkers- some drop-offs on stairs. Fire season gets smoky- we stayed during a fire. Air quality and visibility were not great. Will get trip insurance next time in case we want to reschedule last minute.
Overall a very thoughtfully designed space- you will love it! Arti's Indian Restaurant, Pogo's pizza, Riviera Market, and Clear Lake State park were trip favorites. But honestly just seeing my 4 sons ages 3-13 fish, kayak, and jump off dock diving board made the trip!
The inside of home was pretty mush as pictured. Very nice. Few useful items missing from
Kitchen as well as not enough daily cleaning supplies for an extended stay. And there wasnât clear shelving in pantry to store our items. Cluttered with food. . Same with freezer.
The house location on bay is nice. Back Yard is spacious and has lots of potential. Deck was loaded with spiders and webs. Big ones. Given the roofed area over the dock is riddle with them I can see how the lounge area would be difficult to keep up with. We left the spiders alone they left us alone.
Clearlake area gets hot. Swims in water are must during the day and the area around dock has a lot of growth and even some trash floating around. So you have to paddle or boat out. Paddling can be tricky once the wind kicks up. A great workout getting back if you are across the bay and the wind is pushing you back out. The wind came in every afternoon for sure. Sometimes earlier or sporadically. It did made for perfect late evenings with the deck lighting. Sunsets were gorgeous.
The growth and âislandsâ near were hot spot for fishing.
Hopefully washer and dryer access happens for future guests.
If you have your own boat. Iâd say this is a good place to rent.
Beautiful house, very well put together! Lots of space to spread out. Host suggested where to eat. Ate at Saw Shop public house. It was excellent.
Host very easy to communicate with. Enjoyed our stay.
The house is at a beautiful and peaceful location, right on the lake. Deck in the backyard is really nice to enjoy the lake, its beauty and warm weather (during spring and summer). We also used the paddle boat they have, and my kid loved it. Will definitely recommend others to come and enjoy this property.
The only reason I didnât give it 5 stars is because of housekeeping. The house had spider webs in lot of places, dirt on the corners, soap or detergent not refilled. Bottom roomâs heater wonât really heat up the room (the top bunk bed becomes warm but the bottom bed remains cold).
Past that, we enjoyed our stay every much.
The view itself was worth every penny, but it was very well suited for my family. We had dogs, and kids that wanted to fish. So it was perfect! Only a 20 min drive to Clearlake state park where we had a couple of wonderful hikes. The views at night and in the morning were priceless. It was an amazing time. The neighbors were all very sweet as well.
my siblings and our partners spent the weekend on the lake for my sister's birthday. we are able to hang out and just enjoyed ourselves. the backyard space and seating area was perfect as we sat around the fire pit. the home met all our needs. the queen bunks were perfect and allowed everyone to have a comfortable place to sleep.
Although the check in process could have been smoother- the view and the cleanliness of the house made it all worth it!
The area was so peaceful. The view was breath taking and simply people watching from the kitchen table was all we needed. We were able to catch two BIG catfish! (16lbs and 11lbs)
If you are looking for a little escape from technology and the day to day rush. This Vrbo is highly recommended!
The whole time we were discussing when we should come back.
Amazing place, highly recommended!!
Lauren and Joe fell in love with Lake County while in college when they spent many summer vacations at a Pal's Kelseyville lake house. Determined that someday they would have a place for their family and friends to gather, their dream was finally realized in 2013 when they found the Perch.
