Great house and outdoor space but be aware of few things
This is a great house with lovely outdoor space. It was closer to the very busy/ noisy road than I had anticipated but it didnât bother us too much. We didnât hire a car which was a mistake as although the house is close to the lake path , the house doesnât have any direct access to it and you have to walk approx 10-15 mins round the back of the house to find public access down to the road.
Itâs quite a steep hill getting back up again if you have bikes. The nearest small supermarket was approx 30 min walk away. Several nice lake front restaurants approx 20-30 minutes walk from the house.
The view from the front master bedroom is glorious. Huge glass windows so you have an uninterrupted view of the mountains and lake that seem to change colour every hour! The balcony off the main bedroom is lovely; in fact the outdoor space is all good with 4 different seating areas giving everyone a place to relax.
The pool was a bit cold but the kids still enjoyed it. Couldâve done with a clean during the week though.
There is a utility room with washing machine, dryer and ironing board so you can pack lighter and do a bit of laundry if needed.
One downside was no air con and only 2 of the 4 bedrooms had ceiling fans so those rooms were extremely difficult to sleep in at night. The ceiling fan in living room didnât work in the evenings either so you couldnât sleep on the sofa. Those 2 bedrooms definitely need ceiling fans fitting as not being able to sleep well on holiday is quite a big issue!
As per previous reviews, the house is not spotlessly clean on arrival but it didnât bother us too much. There is a lot of dust under beds and on fans/ extractors and light fittings etc The bbq hadnât been cleaned so we didnât use it.
There is only one toilet upstairs so if you are 8 people this isnât great. Itâs also in a very small windowless room. The only other toilet is downstairs - the 2 bathrooms do not have toilets in them which I think is quite standard in France.
One of the bedrooms doesnât have any cupboard or clothes hanging space which was inconvenient. The garden couldnât done with some mowing and weeding.
Some of the furnishings were a bit frayed / shabby - like the rugs and sofas. Looked a bit ikea like which again not a big problem for us but for the price of the villa some people might expect better quality?
Overall a great house but with 2/4 bedrooms too warm to comfortably sleep in,
Nice apartment with some issues that could be resolved
We stayed here for two weeks with our 3 teens. Appartment was nicely constructed with a stunning pool (not massive but extremely clean) and an amazing view from the master bedroom and terrace. We were aware that there was road noise but this was a much busier road than we anticipated. If you are out and about lots it wouldn't bother you too much but noisy for relaxing by the pool. Also some construction noise from 2 nearby houses but this will pass soon. Main issue was cleanliness. On day one I took a photo of the stairs as they were dusty and with personal hairs - I had to clean them myself. The couch was really worn and I actually wouldn't sit on it (the children did). The fan in the master bedroom was thick in dust (so I cleaned it). Under the beds were really dusty. The owners (onsite) are very friendly and regularly cleaned the pool. This house was really well equipped (laundry/kitchen/BBQ/garden loungers) but the cleaners had not done a good job at all. I would suggest new cleaners and then it would be a very pleasant place to stay if you don't mind a little road noise.
Beautiful location, stunning house - take me back!
My family and I, (2 adults and 3 teenagers) had the most wonderful stay on Lake Annecy. The house was super comfortable, very clean and well equipped with everything we could possibly need. We cooked on the bbq most evenings, on the lovely terraces overlooking the lake. It was so hot and sunny, we were never indoors but with all the outdoor sitting options, it was perfect.
All the rooms had fans to make sleeping as comfortable as possible on hot nights. The swimming pool was a welcomed luxury on very hot days and the teenagers had endless fun!
Absolutely perfect location.... 5 min walk to the lake, the bike path and a lively bar/restaurant, 10 min cycle to the beautiful town of Annecy, along the dedicated bike path and a short drive to supermarkets for convenient shopping.
We hired bikes in Annecy and never needed to use the car - the bike paths on that side of the lake were such a pleasure for accessing the many beaches. The house has the most stunning view over a few rooftops to the lake. My only regret is that we only stayed 1 week..... we would highly recommend the house and the area and look forward to coming back.
We were a group of six, for siblings and spouses. This house worked wonderfully for us with its four bedrooms, two showers, and two toilets. The gathering spaces were excellent, especially the outdoor dining and living space. The kitchen was well supplied and appliances were easy to use. The location was perfect for us, a short bike ride to town and access to great biking right out the front door. We had a fabulous stay.
Lovely combination of lake, mountains and a busy but friendly French city. Really enjoyed our stay here, lovely house with plenty of shade for the heatwave that we experienced! Well appointed with amazing views across the lake, the pool was a real blessing. Traffic noise the only minus point as the one road down the lakeside canât help but be close to the house!
The owners were friendly and helpful, lent us a kayak as well as the bikes, so no excuse not to get out on or by the lake!
Vil havde en dejlig ophold i dette dejlig hus. Huske ligger central og stadig ugenert. Vi gik og cyklede flere gange til byen. Vi kan kun anbefale dette hus
We stayed here for a week and it was lovely! You can tell that a lot of thought and care went into designing the space. It was very clean and had a well equipped kitchen. The view is amazing and a very short drive to Annecy. There are lots of spaces for eating and hanging out (both indoor and outdoor). The hosts were also very friendly and quick to respond when we had questions.
5 Stars. Modern, stylish with pool and views to the lake and upto the mountains
Great family stay here for us with 2 teenage kids. The house is very modern having been recently built with a very social and pleasant open plan ground floor which flows outside to a very nice part covered sitting area and onto the 6M outdoor pool. 1st floor 4 good size beds incl the master bed with en suite and stunning views of the lake and the mountains beyond. The lake is just a few minutes walk away, as is the all important local boulangerie. Also the bike/cycle path which follows a good part of the lake, 10 mins cycling reasonably paced and you are in the centre of the medieval part of Annecy. We swam in the lake everyday at a number of local points onto the lake including paddle board (stand up paddle) - kayak, canoe and pedalo all of which u can hire. We were last week of May and temp of the water was fine for us (do bear in mind the lake is not a heated pool...) Oh and day trip to Chamonix was a simple hour and 20 mins drive if you fancy going up Mont Blanc in the ski lifts... If you are flying from UK, we flew into Geneva and it was a simple 50 min drive to Annecy over the border - oh and u hire the cars on the Swiss side at Cointrin, i struggled to find that info at the time. Anyways, a great week, recommended.
