À propos de cet hébergement

La Casa Vicolo est située dans un ancien palais (bâtiment indépendant) sur 3 étages. Il est situé dans une rue calme et sans voiture au cœur du centre historique de Syracuse, l'ancien quartier juif "Giudecca", à seulement 2 minutes à pied de la mer avec un bel accès à la baignade (plage rocheuse + plateforme de baignade en été) . Il est composé de 2 grandes chambres, 2 salles de bains modernes, une cuisine moderne très spacieuse, des espaces de vie intérieurs et extérieurs dont une grande terrasse pour dîner en plein air avec vue sur les toits d'Ortigia.

Casa Vicolo est légère et aérée, adoptant un style industriel chaleureux avec des textiles contrastants en bois et en métal et d'autres éléments naturels sur un fond blanc. La maison bénéficie d'une vaste terrasse dont la table à manger est faite de lave volcanique de l'Etna à proximité.

À l'entrée, il y a un couloir qui mène à un patio intérieur ainsi qu'un salon avec un ventilateur au plafond et des sols en carreaux de ciment d'origine. Une retraite calme et fraîche, cet espace est idéal pour lire, faire du yoga (tapis de yoga, ballon de pilates et autres équipements sont disponibles dans la salle) ou faire une sieste l'après-midi.

Au premier étage se trouvent 2 chambres, chacune avec un lit queen size, climatisation / chauffage et portes françaises donnant sur la rue ou le patio. Il y a 2 salles de bains et entre les chambres il y a un salon avec un ventilateur au plafond et une télévision (smart TV).

Les escaliers jusqu'au deuxième étage mènent à une salle à manger avec des sièges pour 6 personnes et un salon avec portes françaises donnant sur le patio. Le coin repas / salon dispose de la climatisation / du chauffage, d'un bureau et d'une sélection de guides de voyage locaux. La cuisine moderne entièrement équipée - avec lave-vaisselle et lave-linge, entre autres appareils de cuisine - s'ouvre sur la terrasse.

À distance de marche se trouvent différents accès à la baignade d'Ortigia (la plate-forme de baignade est à 1 minute à pied, la plage rocheuse à 2 minutes); les places Duomo et Archimede, la fontaine Aretusa et le temple Apollo (5-10 minutes); bains juifs historiques et théâtre de marionnettes (au coin de la rue); le charmant marché alimentaire quotidien (10 minutes); et quelques-unes des meilleures gelateria (glaciers) au monde!

We loved the property. The location is perfect. The place is amazing. Clean, modern, lots of room, great terrace and the host reserved parking for us in a lot right around the corner. Couldn’t ask for more.

Fun place to stay!

Enrico was an amazing, responsible property manager who solved problems immediately. Our one annoyance was the tiny, broken washing machine. We did a 20 day stay and had counted on not needing to go to a coin-laundry. Another was the flooding of the alley outside when there's rain--it was like a 3" deep fast-flowing creek. One needs golashas or rubber boots. This also affects the atrium area near the exit to the house--extremely slipery when wet. One other: we did OK, but if you have any trouble climbing stairs, this is not the best place for you. On the positive side: The kitchen was well stocked with necessary utensils, pots, pans, etc. We enjoyed using it to cook food purchased at the local open-air market. The patio was delightful. Heating and cooling worked well. Neighborhood interesting and people delightful. Lots of fun, interesting things to do nearby and great food at reasonable prices if one eats out.

Great location. Nice and spacious

This is a very good property. Lots of room, great location, had everything we needed, and air conditioning worked well. The furniture isn't very comfortable and a few things could use an update, but that's not a major problem for us. Overall, it was a good choice for us.

Great holiday stay

Large house in a quiet residential area. Ortigia is small so you are only a few minutes away from lots of cafes and restaurants. Efficient aircon and well equipped kitchen. Sadly we could hardly use the beautiful terrace during the day as there were building renovations next door, but it was lovely in the evening. Great to have the whole house to ourselves.

Great location, nice apartment.

Lovely apartment in a great location. Walking distance of everything Ortigia has to offer, restaurants, shops, sights. Comfortable and well air conditioned, Nice roof terrace but too hot to use when we were there despite awning. We had a couple of issues at the apartment one identified before we arrived and corrected after the weekend. Communication with agent over second issue was less than ideal, resulting in a very frosty check out.

Perfect location in a great town

This was a lovely apartment in a great location. It was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. Stephanie provided us with very good information about Ortigia and great recommendations about where to eat. We had some great weather for March so also spent time eating and relaxing on the terrace. The well appointed kitchen meant that cooking and eating in the apartment was easy to do and the presence of oil, spices etc indicated that others had done this and we added to the supplies. The food market is wonderful and a great place to buy fresh fish, vegetables, cheese etc The building is on three floors which means stairs (not a problem for us) and the middle floor, where the bedrooms are, should be cool in the summer. Our tips for eating out include the lovely Retroscena restaurant around the corner and Cafe Apollo near the market for coffee and pastries, both recommended by Stephanie. Jane and Pete

Marvelous Ortigia

We had three glorious weeks in Ortigia which makes this review different than a 4 or 5 day visit as we were settled into the house and all its nuances. Property manager Stephanie did an excellent job with recommendations, problem solving and transportation services. The sunny patio was a delight and the well equipped kitchen was highly used. We had plumbing issues which were addressed immediately but not always successfully. The bathrooms in general need an update. The couches are not very comfortable. They are chaise lounges which is great for reclining but if you want to sit up the depth is too deep and there isn't a back - just cushions. Our biggest qualm with this property was the alleyway; animal waste and trash. We loved Ortigia! We loved the neighborhood, the food, the wine! Just not this house.

Charmante maison de ville

Séjour parfait dans une maison très agréable, meublée simplement mais avec beaucoup de goût ( aucune fausse note ), patio et terrasse très agréable, cuisine très bien équipée ( une girafe nous a manqué nous qui sommes des cuistots avertis 😜) Situation idéale proximité de la baignade, des lieux historiques place Duomo, cathédrale etc…,restaurants, marché dans le quartier de la Giudecca Accueil parfait de Stéphanie toujours disponible et de très bon conseil pour les adresses dans Ortigia ainsi qu’aux alentours ( plages, boutiques , restaurants , etc…) Ortigia magnifique Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir

Perfect Spot in Ortigia

A lovely split-level apartment in a little side street in Giudecca, with a big open terrace where you can eat and drink. Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the lower level, and the living room and well-equipped kitchen on the top level with doors opening out onto the terrace. Location is great: a two-minute walk to the swimming platform and only a few more to Cala Rossa pebble beach. The immediate are is really interesting and full of great little restaurants, cafes and bars (Supernatural and Dada spring to mind, but there are many) and is more laid-back and less hectic than some other parts of the town. Although everywhere is just glorious: the Duomo is stunning, the side streets running down to the sea, Lungomare Alfeo and its sunset restaurants and bars and even the newly developed marina has some swanky (but not over-priced at all) bars to greet the yachts. Stephanie sorted everything out perfectly, the place is great, the town is magical - and really great value almost everywhere you go. Shop at the market for fresh fish, fruit, veg - all superb and really cheap. A great place.

Lovely house in an historic location in Ortigia.

Have stayed here before. Behind the front entrance is a courtyard leading to the rest of the house. The whole property is very spacious. The kitchen opens onto a lovely sunny terrace, which lends itself to al fresco meals. Check in and checkout were without fault. Stephanie gave good tips on places to eat etc. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Zentrale Lage aber Zugang über enge und schmutzige (Katzenkot) Gasse

Das Haus befindet sich in zentraler Lage von Ortigia in einer engen Gasse, in der allerdings des nachts Katzen und andere Tiere ihr Geschäft verrichten. Das Haus an sich ist hübsch eingerichtet, wenn auch nicht alles super sauber war. Es war extrem hellhörig, man hörte abends Partymusik, abends und nachts Babyeschrei und Menschen, die sich unterhaltend vorbeiliefen, und die Müllabholung beinahe jeden Morgen gegen 6. Die Dachterrasse entschädigte für vieles und die Ausstattung ließ keine Wünsche offen. Es gab Heizgeräte und eine Waschmaschine, die wir benutzen konnten. Bei Ankunft in Siracusa nach Flug gegen 12 Uhr wurden wir von Stéphanie darauf hingewiesen, dass Check-In erst ab 14:00 Uhr möglich ist, wie auf dem Angebot beschrieben. Als wir dann 14:00 Uhr einchecken konnten, teilte uns Stéphanie jedoch mit, dass die Dachterrasse nach der Reinigung durch die Reinigungskraft durch den Sahara-Regen verschmutzt sei und wir die Terrasse doch putzen könnten.

Great stay in Ortigia

This house in Ortigia was a great find for my wife and I. We enjoyed the large kitchen and terrace, the location, and the good contact with the property manager (Stephanie). The location in the Giudecca was very charming and close to the sea, the duomo, and the market. Ortigia is very nice for walking and there are stores and cafes within a 5 minute walk of the apartment. The 2BR/2BA arrangement gave us plenty of room for our extended stay. We visited in the heart of winter (Jan/Feb), which is the low season. For anyone considering a January stay, it should be noted that the apartment has portable heaters only and may not be warm enough for some people at that time of year. Stephanie was easy to reach and provided us with helpful advice during our trip. We would definitely recommend the apartment for anyone staying in Ortigia.

A fantastic base for exploring Ortigia

Tucked down a narrow alley, this private home was the perfect place to spend several nights in Ortigia. The space is large, clean, comfortable, and the kitchen was well appointed for those nights we dined in. The large terrace right off the kitchen was perfect for both morning coffee and afternoon drinks. The bathrooms are spacious, the showers large, with great water pressure. The internet was slow, but that could have been due to storms in the area; if you need a good connection you might want to ask for a speed test first. The only other negative was very noisy guests in a holiday rental across the alley—certainly no fault of this listing—but does affect the “quiet” aspect of the place. The other great attributes of the place more than make up for these two experiences. The location was easy to get to with luggage and within walking distance to everything in Ortigia. Bars, restaurants, and shopping are literally at the end of the block. A couple minutes away is a large rock and stair access to the sea—we spent many enjoyable hours sunning and swimming. If you’re looking a fantastic holiday home in Ortigia, look no further.

Perfektes Urlaubsdomizil

Sehr schönes, großzügiges Haus mit geschmackvoller Einrichtung und sehr guter Ausstattung mitten in Ortigia. Zentrale, ruhige Lage in einer kleinen Seitenstraße ohne Autoverkehr. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Fantastic property

This a beautiful house in a great location , quiet but close to the sea and the buzz of the bars, shops and restaurants. The rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable, great bathrooms and comfy beds. Stephanie, the manager is so helpful and informative. She speaks perfect English and gives great advice on where to eat and shop. We loved the large terrace with great views over the rooftops. We will definitely return

Heerlijk rustige plek in hartje Ortiga

Als je op zoek bent naar een net ruim huis midden in Ortiga, dan moet je hier zijn. Het is een zeer comleet en ruim huis. De beheerder van het het huis is zeer vriendelijk, erg behulpzaam en spreekt perfect Engels. Gewoon doen!!
