Absolutely lovely

Such a nice spot. Very secluded, yet easy to get to the more touristy spots. We ended up spending more time ‘at home’ than out and about just because it’s so nice on the sun deck.

A Perfect Location

Cottage Strelitzia is a modern, very attractively designed studio apartment in the middle of an avocado plantation with plenty of on site parking. It is comfortable, spacious, secure and has everything you need for a holiday. At the rear there is a lovely large decking area with comfortable seating and sun loungers as well as a table and chairs for outdoor eating. The plantation is very private and peaceful but there are restaurants close by and the local Lidl is a short drive away. Ted, the owner, is extremely pleasant and helpful. On hand if needed but not intrusive. His information sheets and directions to the property are very comprehensive and a great help. A nice touch was a wonderful bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival.

Einfach tolles Gesamtpaket

Wir haben die Wohnung für eine Woche gemietet. Von der Buchung bis zum Check-in und Check-out lief alles reibungslos und absolut stimmig ab. Bernard, unser Vermieter, versorgte uns vorab mit Anreiseinfos, wie man die Wohnung von welchem Flughafen, wie am besten erreicht. Genauso war er vor Ort immer per Handy erreichbar. Er gab tolle Tips vorab per Mail, und auch in den Gesprächen, die wir geführt haben. So einen Vermieter kann man bedingungslos empfehlen. Nebenbei hat er uns von seiner Avocado-Ernte immer mit frischen Avocados versorgt. Zur Wohnung kann ich nur sagen, sie ist genau so wie auf den Bildern zu sehen. Die Wohnung erreicht man über einen Kiesweg, der sich durch den toll angelegten Garten schlängelt. Die Wohnung wurde uns sehr sauber übergeben. Es ist ein großer Raum, in dem sich die Küche mit Backofen und Ceranfeld befindet. Highlight ist die Waschmaschine. Ein großes Bett, eine Couch und ein Fernseher runden das Angebot, neben rasantem WIFI, ab. Zudem hat man in der Küche die Möglichkeit am Tisch zu frühstücken, falls das Wetter da mal nicht mir spielt. Das Bad ist funktional und hat ein WC, Waschbecken und eine bodengleiche Dusche. Alles liebevoll eingerichtet. Auf der Terrasse kann man an einem Tisch mit 2 Stühlen ebenso frühstücken. Desweiteren sind noch Loungemöbel vorhanden mit einem Tisch um den Tag ausklingen zu lassen. Einfach eine Oase der Ruhe. Man kann auf der Terrasse die Brandung hören. Nebenan ist ein Kirche die man gar nicht hören kann,

Perfect break

This was a tranquil haven in a beautiful setting. Ted was wonderfully helpful, thoughtful and very congenial. He gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and was very kind and generous- even bringing home made guacamole and avocados to take home. The cottage was delightful, very highly finished with everything you could need thoughtfully provided. We even grew to like the cockerel who brought an enthusiastic start to the day!

Oase im Schatten von Avocadobäumen

Wir haben uns in der liebevoll und geschmackvoll eingerichteten Wohnung in El Rincon bei Orotavo sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist ideal, man hat die ländliche Ruhe und ist aber dennoch sofort in den touristischen Zentren Puerto de la Cruz oder Santa Cruz oder auf dem Teide. Den Strand Bollulo kann man zu Fuß erreichen und das ausgezeichnete Lokal El Diego ist gleich um die Ecke. Der Vermieter ist äußerst hilfsbereit. Man kann dieses Quartier nur empfehlen.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lage

Ein sehr schönes und liebevoll gestaltetes Ferienhaus. Absolut ruhige Lage, auch von den anderen Häusern hört man nichts. Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt, wenn man die Insel erkunden möchte, kurze Wege mit dem Auto in die Berge oder an den Strand. Der Vermieter ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Seine Tipps waren goldwert. So war der Urlaub rundum gelungen. Thanks a lot !!!!!!

Comfortable modern accommodation in a very attractive setting

The apartment is well proportioned and very comfortable with attractive and private outdoor space. There is a good restaurant 5 minutes walk away and it is possible to walk into Puerto de la Cruz along the coast (takes about 45 minutes). Some evenings we did this, had dinner, then got a taxi back (10 Euros). Bernard, the owner, is an excellent host, keen to make sure that you enjoy your stay.

Sehr empfehlenswert!

Neben der super Ausstattung (in Küche und Bad hat es an nichts gefehlt, super schnelles Internet, toller Obstkorb und Wein zur Begrüßung) und der geschmackvollen Einrichtung haben uns besonders die Lage inmitten einer Avocadoplantage und die drei herrlichen Terrassen begeistert. Das Restaurant San Diego Grill in unmittelbarer Nähe ist sehr empfehlenswert. Direkt von der Unterkunft aus können schöne Spaziergänge zu verschiedenen Stränden und sogar bis nach Porto de la Cruz unternommen werden. Ansonsten erreicht man alle anderen sehenswerten Orte im Norden zügig mit dem Auto... Ted ist ein sehr sympathischer und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber.

Wir waren Anfang Oktober 2018 in der wundervollen, gemütlichen und super ausgestatteten Villa Juanita. Wir sind warmherzig und sehr freundlich von Ted (Bernard) empfangen worden. Eine "frische" Obstschale und ein leckerer Weißwein standen zum Empfang für uns bereit. Der Bungalow ist sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Eine Terrasse vorne zum Frühstücken mit Morgensonne, die andere Terrasse hinter zum Sonnenbaden und abends zum Barbecue. Und das alles mitten in einer üppig grünen Avocado-Plantage - eine absolute Ruheoase und unweit vom Strand Bollullo. Ted war immer sehr hilfsbereit und gab uns tolle Tipps für Unternehmungen und Essen..... Was wir sehr empfehlen können: Wandern: Punta de Teno, Anagagebirge Sightseeing: Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna Baden: Piscina de Natural de Bajamar, Costa Sauzal bei El Sauzal, Playa El Bollullo bei El Rincon, Playa de Las Teresitas bei Santa Cruz Essen: San Diego in El Rincon Wir können diese Unterkunft wärmstens weiterempfehlen und danken dem Vermieterehepaar Ted und Cristina für diese schöne Zeit in El Rincon, unterhalb von La Orotava und unweit von Puerto de la Cruz. This is how you have a vacation!

It was truly amazing at Cottage Strelitzia, everything was perfect and we felt very much at home. Where to begin? It’s great that the cottage is secluded amidst all these wonderful avocado trees and guarded by a gate, so you feel very safe. The pathways to our little abode are nice and we enjoyed greeting the lizards every day although they hastily ran away at our sight. The cottage itself is magnificent: very light and airy, lots of wood. Inside, we had everything we could wish for: a comfortable bed, a cosy living room area with a high-quality television, a clean and well-equipped kitchen, even a washing machine! From everywhere in the cottage you could enjoy the view on the terrace, lots of wood again and beautiful flowers. But what really made this cottage unique is it’s exquisite sun deck. Only a few steps on the (very secure) wooden ladder and suddenly you have the most scenic view you could dream of. To the right side: the island itself, other cottages in the distance, twinkling lights by night. In front of us: green and the blue of the sky and the ocean in the distance. In the back: the mountains. The sun deck is an amazing place, very calming and simply stunning. Hats off to you for having had this great idea! Regarding the service: All wonderful. You were most kind to us, offering advice and your help all the time. We met part of your family who are also very open and friendly people. Definitely a most trust-worthy experience being your guests! The mid-cleaning surprised us: It was more than perfect, very carefully cleaned, it looked like it did on the first day when we came in for the first time. Even our clothes were neatly folded and everything right in order where it should be. Also, we got new towels and sheets, which felt nice and was necessary because we were at the beach quite often. What’s left to say? The surroundings are great: being close to nature really gives you the chance to have a vacation. We had a rental car, so everything was very easy to get to and we explored quite a bit of the island. Honestly, we will come back to your cottage when we’re on Tenerife. We can’t think of a nicer place to stay.

Ein traumhafter Urlaub.....

Auf der Suche nach einem ruhigen Feriendomizil stießen wir beim Herumstöbern im Internet nur durch Zufall auf diese Traumwohnung. Und fanden dabei Bilder, die sich wohltuend anders von denen anderer Objekte unterschieden. Beim Betrachten glaubte man, schon dort zu sein und alles hinter sich zu lassen. Überboten wurden diese Phantasien nur noch durch die Wirklichkeit. „Cottage Strelitzia“ ist ein wahres Schmuckstück: Mitten in einer Avocado-Plantage gelegen und in absoluter Ruhe, wenn man vom morgendlichen Krähen des Hahns eines Nachbarn einmal absieht. Eine Wohnung mit viel Holz und Glas, hell und mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf die große Terrasse, in deren Mitte, wie sollte es auch anders sein, ein Avocado-Baum als Schattenspender steht. Dazu ausgerüstet mit allem, was man so für den täglichen Gebrauch benötigt. Und die Gastgeber Cristina und Ted: Super-sympathisch, liebevoll, aufmerksam und immer mit Rat und Tat zur Stelle. Eine Flasche Wein und ein riesiger Korb mit Obst erwarteten uns schon bei der Ankunft, dazu an den folgenden Tagen viele hilfreiche Informationen betr. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Sehenswürdigkeiten, Touren. Herzlichen Dank Euch beiden..... Im Juni haben wir drei phantastische Wochen dort verbracht und kommen sehr gerne wieder...... Karin und Jochen

Charmante kleine Villa in einem Avocadohain

Hütte? Nein, das ist eine richtige kleine Villa mit einer sehr geschmackvollen Einrichtung, einer voll verglasten Hausseite mit Blick auf eine grosszügige und möblierte Terasse und einem gesonderten Sitzplatz auf der anderen Seite, auf der es sich morgens in der Sonne frühstücken lässt. Erst auf dem zweiten Blick bemerkt man, dass man sich tatsächlich einem Holzhaus befindet. Ich wurde von Ted herzlich Willkommen geheißen. Einen grosser Teller mit frischem Obst und eine Flasche Wein standen schon bereit. Von Anfang an habe ich mich wohlgefühlt. Es ist alles da, was man während eines Urlaubs braucht, auch um zwischendurch mal zu kochen oder zu grillen. Dafür steht Geschirr für drei Personen zur Verfügung. Auch Waschmaschine, Wäscheständer und Bügeleisen sind vorhanden. Waschmitteltabs sollte man sich für die Urlaubswäsche mitbringen, oder man besorgt sich Waschmittel bei einem Einkauf in Puerto. Das Bad mit der bodentiefen Dusche ist herrlich geräumig und mit Handtüchern, Duschmittel und Föhn ausgestattet. Für kühle Abende und Nächte steht auch ein kleiner elektrischer Heizkörper bereit. Das Bett hat übrigens eine ordentliche Zudecke und nicht nur eine Bettlaken mit Decke drauf, was in den kühleren Nächten, wie diesmal im April, sehr angenehm ist. Man wird von Ted umfassend schon per Mail vorab informiert und dann vor Ort persönlich eingewiesen, u.a. auch über die vorhandenen Fernsehsender (Spanisch und Originalsprache). Mir wurde sogar gezeigt, was ich tun muss, falls wider Erwarten der Strom ausfällt, was zum Glück nur einmal passierte. Es wohnt sich in der Strelitzia sehr ruhig. Die anderen Hütten sind hinter den dichten Avocadobäumen kaum zu sehen bzw. zu hören. Nur der Hahn auf dem Nachbargrundstück macht manchmal auf sich aufmerksam, bisweilen auch zu nachtschlafender Zeit. Man ist von der Finca aus in wenigen Minuten in Puerto de la Cruz und auf der Autobahn, um die Insel erkunden zu können. Ein Mietwagen empfiehlt sich. Man kann diesen sicher auf dem Grundstück abstellen. Kleine Anmerkung: Da zur Strelitzia ein schmaler Weg mit tiefen Schotter führt, ist die Unterkunft aus meiner Sicht mit Rolator oder Rollstuhl kaum zu erreichen. Alles in allem ist die Strelitzia eine wunderschöne Unterkunft, in der man sich wunderbar erholen kann. An Ted herzlichen Dank für die freundliche und rücksichtsvolle Betreuung. Ich komme gerne wieder. Und dann nehme ich auch ein paar von den köstlichen Avocados mit.

Perfekte Unterkunft

Teds Hütten inmitten der Avocadofarm sind sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sehr ruhig gelegen und sauber und bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten perfekt ausgestattet. Ted selbst ist der beste Gastgeber, den man sich vorstellen kann-supernett und hat Tipps für mehrere Urlaube. Restaurants in der Nähe alle durchweg empfehlenswert, einkaufen innerhalb weniger Autominuten möglich. Strände in der Nähe zum schwimmen nicht wirklich geeignet, aber da die Farm sehr verkehrsgünstig liegt, sind alle interessanten Ziele auf der Insel recht schnell zu erreichen. Urlaub bei Ted ist nahe am perfekten Urlaub-nur der Meerblick fehlt.

Perfekter Ort für einen Erholsamen Urlaub

Das Ferienhaus Strelitzia ist wirklich ein perfekter Platz zum Relaxen. Gut eingerichtet mit viel Privatsphäre. Auch die gute Beschreibungen von Restaurants, Strände und Sehenswürdigkeiten von Ted waren sehr hilfreich. Wir können diese Unterkunft nur Weiterempfehlen.

A lovely, quiet and peaceful place.

We stayed in Cottage Strelizia for a week and it was exactly as the photos depicted. Very modern and so much attention to detail by the owners Ted and Cris. It was spotless when we arrived - something I often have an issue with on holiday properties- although anyone going to book should note there are cleaning and service charges added to the final bill. Cottage Strelizia is a studio with kitchen, living and sleeping all in one large room. There's a lovely deck at the front door which gets early morning sun, so nice to have breakfast on.The back decking area is 100% private, with patio table and chairs to eat at, two sunloungers for relaxing and a settee, chair and table for late night drinks. We didn't see a barbecue as stated on the house details, but there is a umbrella for beach days. The interior of Cottage Strelizia is just beautiful - very bright and modern - and the bathroom is to-die-for, plus there is always hot water for a shower! The entire back wall is glass and it can get very hot inside but it soon cools down when using the fan provided. The owners Ted and Cris are a lovely couple who leave guests to themselves, but are on hand if needed. The only downside I found is that, being on an avocado plantation, vermin can sometimes pay you a visit. I saw one running along the top of the wall chasing a lizard, which then jumped into our garden and ran along the flower bed at the side of the decking. The second time this happened a few days later, I managed to frighten it away before it jumped off the wall. Ted had warned us about large mice, but this was most definitely a rat, and seeing it made me very wary and uncomfortable while sitting out on the deck. This is why I'd suggest building the retaining wall at the side of the decking a bit higher to try and prevent these unwanted visitors. All in all Villa Juanita is a perfect wee spot for a holiday. It is beautiful and makes for a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Ruhe und Erholung in wunderschönem Cottage

Wir waren nun schon zum dritten Mal Gäste bei Ted und haben unseren Urlaub dieses Mal in seinem neuen Cottage Strelitzia verbracht. Das Cottage ist wirklich genau so, wie es beschrieben ist. Vor allem das (Licht-) Design und die Terrassen haben uns sehr gut gefallen. Lage: Die Lage ist hervorragend. Man ist sehr gut an die Autobahn angebunden (5 Minuten bis zu Lidl, einer Tankstelle oder einem normalen Supermarkt). Darüber hinaus gibt es in der Nähe einige gute Restaurants (z. B. 5 Min zu Fuß das San Diego – sehr zu empfehlen!). Ted gibt gerne Tipps wo man gut essen gehen kann. Obwohl man sehr gut an alles angebunden ist, ist man nicht in Mitten einer Touri-Siedlung, sondern auf einem ruhigen Anwesen, auf dem man morgens nur ab und zu mal den Hahn krähen hört. Von den Nachbarn bekommt man nichts mit. Sauberkeit und Ausstattung: Einer der Gründe, warum wir uns dort so wohl fühlen, ist die perfekte Sauberkeit. Darüber hinaus hat das Cottage alles was man braucht. Darunter viele Kleinigkeit bei denen man sonst bei Ferienhäusern nie genau weiß, ob sie da sind: u.a. Kaffee(filter), Alufolie, Frischhaltefolie, Öl, Essig, Gewürze, Toilettenpapier, Duschgel, extra Handtücher für den Strand – es wurde an alles gedacht. Ted als Gastgeber: Wir wurden bis jetzt jedes Mal von einen großen Obstkorb und einer Flasche Sekt/Wein begrüßt. Dieses Mal hat Ted uns sogar Lebensmittel für das erste Frühstück besorgt, sodass wir nicht direkt abends, als wir ankamen, noch einkaufen mussten. Er schaut hin und wieder vorbei - ohne, dass ich es als aufdringlich empfinde - sodass man auch zwischendurch mal nach (Restaurant-) Tipps fragen kann. Für uns ist der Ted der beste Gastgeber. Was kann man in der Umgebung machen? Wir empfehlen auf jeden Fall einen Mietwagen (z.B. Cicar). Die Lage ist perfekt, um Orte wie La Orotava, La Laguna oder Garachico zu erkunden oder wandern zu gehen in Los Silos, Playa Tamadiste, Teide Nationalpark oder Los Organos. Alles nicht mehr als 1 Std. entfernt. Was man sonst noch wissen sollte? Es gibt zwar keine Spülmaschine, dafür aber eine Waschmaschine, was sehr praktisch ist, um zwischendurch z. B. mal die Wanderklamotten durchzuwaschen. Als wir im Juni da waren, war es an einzelnen Abenden noch recht warm im Cottage – aber mit dem Ventilator, den wir von Ted erhalten haben, absolut auszuhalten und sicher auch nur im Sommer nötig.

Entspannendes Urlaubsfeeling

Durch die vielversprechenden Bilder wurden wir auf das Ferienhäuschen Strelitzia aufmerksam und entschieden uns eine Woche zu buchen. Es sollte kein Fehler sein den die Bilder und die Beschreibung entsprechen vollends der Realität. Auch die positiven Kommentare über den Vermieter können wir nur bestätigen. Ted ist höflich nett und hilfsbereit. Man fühlt sich sofort wohl inmitten Avocados, Bananen und anderen Obstbäumen. Die Einrichtung ist geschmacklich modern eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Wenn man einmal die Seele baumeln lassen will ist die Terrasse der ideale Ort dafür. Der Strand und ein Restaurant sind per pedes erreichbar. Selbst die Stadt Puerto de la Cruze ist in einer schwachen Stunde über einen Fußweg erreichbar. Es war perfekt und wir freuen uns auf ein nächstes mal. Rudolf und Maria

Stunning property in a perfect location

If you want to stay in a natural unspoilt location with the feeling of being right in the middle of nature whilst at the same time having all your creature comforts then cottage stralitza is the place for you. Ted and Cris have created a wonderful space the pictures actually don't do it justice. A large bright, comfortable space and all mod cons showing their generosity. There is good food in walking distance and 3 stunning black sand beaches. Wake up to birdsong and and the scurry of a gecko in the leaves. North Tenerife is breathtakingly beautiful lots of hidden villages, wonderful food and a slow pace feel your cares drift away on arrival even after a challenging drive from the southern airport in the pitch black.

For other future guests reading your comments, I would like to add that although it was unfortunate that your flight got delayed and you arrived at night and quite tired, the way form the South Airport is quite straight forwards. 55 minutes of which 95% is highway, and good secondary road (the last 3 min.) all the way to the property. Amazing place

We are family of three with a smallest one being 5 months old spent 11 wonderful days at Ted’s newest cottage. Ted and Christina are people who enjoy what they do and they are interested in people. As a result we, as their guests, felt very welcome and it was like visiting good friends. We especially appreciate that they prepared everything for our little boy: baby bed, bath, plate and a cup. The cottage is amazing, it is a gem indeed. Being first people living in it, we still could feel its cosiness, thanks to internal decorations and well used textile that gives a feeling of being at home. What special about this cottage is the terrace, which is in the very corner of plantation, so you kind of separated from everything else while on it. The place in general is very peaceful, you could only hear birds singing. Apart from avocado, there are plenty of other plants and flowers, and as we are very interested in plants, we enjoyed discovering plants we never saw before. We also enjoyed asking Ted about plants, avocado and banana plantations, how they function, how to take care of them, etc. The place is so that we felt isolated from everything, which was what we wanted to have during the holiday. At the same time everything is within 5-30 minutes drive: restaurants, shops, Puerto de la Cruz, beautiful old La Orotava, El Teide national park and many many other nice things and places. We do hope to come back one day, and we definitely highly recommend this place who wants to cut off from busy life and reconnect to the nature.
