The property is amazing! The back yard is huge, the outdoor seating and the fire pit are perfect way to end an evening. The house is artistic yet the Craftsman design of the house shines throughout. I think our favorite places in the house were the front and back sunrooms. We all loved the kitchen it's a cooks dream.
This weekend we celebrated the marriage of our daughter. The home was a quick drive to the venue and provided enough room for all of us to stretch out and enjoy getting ready. Thereâs plenty of room and we especially enjoyed three bathrooms to get all our prep done.
It is a beautiful home. Great location, easy access to Duluth and surrounding area. My family stayed here for my sons wedding in Canal Park. The back yard was beautiful and a great place to relax in between wedding schedules. The house was amazing, every corner you turned you would find something new and unique. The whole family enjoyed their stay. The host was very responsive and easy to work with.
Thank you!
We had a wonderful time staying in this amazing home. The kitchen is well equipped with perfect appliances and all you could possibly need! We cooked a full Thanksgiving for 12 and all went smoothly! We fed all of the UMD theatre kids that couldnât go home due to rehearsals. It would not have been possible without this perfect super clean house. Thank you!
the property was very nice . Neat old antique home and decor. The kitchen was very modern and convenient to use.the only problem was the bathtub and shower on the 2nd floor where all the bedrooms were. The shower diverter didn't work at all . Then when we filled the tub and tried to use the jacuzzi jets brown gunk came out of them. We all had to use the small bathroom in the basement with the shower stall to bathe. I did expect more from the place than this arrangement.
We arrived to a beautiful, charming and refreshingly cool air conditioned home that was fill with history, charm, ambiance and luxury. The kitchen was extremely well appointed right down to the top of the line cookware, utensils, stoneware, chia, spices and even basics like flour and salt. We couldn't have asked for more. Each room was wonderfully clean and furnished. Having been raised by a mother in the antiques business I could not help but marvel at treasure after treasure as I walked through the home from furniture to floor coverings to art on the walls, to the magnificent curio cabinets and shelves, I was thrilled to the core. Frankly, the online pictures don't do it justice! It is simply magnificent in person. There was ample space for us to be together as a family, with plenty of seating and more beds than we needed. Each of us were able to have our "own" spot to retreat to in the evening, and that made our stay that much more relaxing. As our host, Bruce was accessible and helpful throughout our stay and we couldn't be more satisfied with every aspect of our experience.
We had a great stay. Plenty of space for our big group to enjoy our time together and appreciate the beauty of the house. Big thanks to our hosts Bruce and Omar for making our stay so special.
This home provided the perfect weekend get away for our family. We comfortably used the space with 6 adults and 2 kids and it was a great balance of togetherness and privacy. A quick car ride to Duluth made it a great location. If you are looking for a nice place to stay with lots of charm- this is the spot for you!,
This property is just as shown in the photos! Beautifully decorated and feels very homey. The kitchen had everything you could ever need, the yard was large and has beautiful flower gardens. There is space for everyone and loved the large dining room table for meals and game time.
The owner was very pleasant and easy to work with, and best of all, responded very quickly to any communication sent.
We would definately stay again!
My family had a great time staying at the house this week! There were 5 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 toddler, and 1 baby and we were all quite comfortable in our own space. The house is very unique! We really appreciated all the TVs and the air conditioners. Thank you!
We rented this property while visiting extended family in the superior/Duluth area. My husband and I stayed with our 3 sons and my mom, plus our two dogs. Not a single thing about this home disappointed. The fenced in backyard is gigantic and private. We saw so many stars at night! Families can comfortably dine outside or in. The interior of the home has clearly been designed to preserve the rich history of the home and our entire family had a blast exploring all the nooks and crannies! The kitchen had every spice, appliance, and cooking utensil we could have asked for - and we LOVE cooking â and we entertained our extended family for dinner a few nights. We spent hours playing board games, reading, and relaxing in the amazing front enclosed porch, where the cool lake breeze blows in both day and night. The bedrooms are super comfortable and we are picky about mattresses and pillows. I was concerned that 2 full baths (there is also a half bath on the main floor) wouldnât be enough for our family but it was perfect. Finally, the hosts, Omar and Bruce were such a joy, both engaging and responsive. The only issue we had - and this is truly not an issue - was that the WiFi went down and since I had to do a bit of work I needed it restored quickly, and the owners responded immediately to our questions helping us restore.
This house WAS the destination. We did not visit the area with plans to constantly be out and about. We wanted a place where we could relax and just be with my mom and other family that visited occasionally. This house delivered. We feel so happy and relaxed after our stay!
My family and I spent Thanksgiving at this lovely home. 13 of us crowded around the table. The place is super clean, well equipped, and comfortable. We all enjoyed cooking in the kitchen- they have thought of everything! thank you!!
Beautiful old home with nice updates to furnishings. We came to the area for a weekend away with 2 other couples. Perfect place to relax after a day of adventuring around Duluth. Nice we had a place to have a few meals, relax inside in one of the two lounge/tv areas or outside in the back yard on the patio where we play some bocci ball, and even had a small bonfire one night. Hosts were quick to respond with the few questions we had too! All and all a great place to to stay!
The Rydell House was a beautiful historic home in Superior. We spent Thursday through Monday for a family wedding. We had 8 adults and 2 children under age 1. We had room for two more adults technically as we brought pack n plays for the children. The bedrooms were large enough to accommodate the needs of each family. Most of the bedrooms had window air conditioners and ceiling fans, so even with 90 degree weather the house was very cool. The family room in the basement was great entertainment. The kitchen was stocked beyond our expectations. The backyard was very nice and fenced. The owners were prompt in replying. If we go back to the area, we will definitely stay at the Rydell House.
The house is absolutely incredible. Gorgeous period details, tons of fun and quirky knick knacks all over the house, lots of space for folks to spread out, very comfortable furniture. The yard was fantastic for visiting children. The kitchen is quite large and very well appointed. The only downside was that it's in Superior, but it can't be helped. The neighborhood was quiet, easily accessible to both bridges, and tbh, Duluth's best kept secret is Wisconsin Point - absolutely the best beach in the area. If I ever have a family gathering in the area again, I will absolutely check this property first.
We stayed at the Rydell House for a wedding with events taking place in Duluth and Poplar and the location was great for us. The house is beautiful, the beds were very comfortable and it was perfectly air conditioned when we arrived, even during an exceptionally hot weekend. There were also several TVs for if you have some downtime during your stay. The fenced in backyard is lovely and has a number of seating areas.

We love the North Shore and Twin Ports areas and have been drawn to the classic homes of the early 20th century. Great craftsmanship and solid materials have provided a terrific base for furnishings and modern updates. Some we hire out and some we do ourselves. We want our guests and friends to enjoy these great accommodations as much as we enjoy our stays.
What is not to appreciate about the Rydell House? They say the foundation walls are six feet thick. No wonder it is so solid. There are four city lots that give us great yard space for grill outs, yard games, and play space. You could hold a wedding or two or a lawn meeting. The interior has plenty of space to hang out, entertain, or just plain sleep. Sure we will be doing improvements and updates as we go along and as we learn more of the feel of the space and what can be accommodated. Our guests will share ideas no doubt. Owning the Rydell house is owning a piece of history and an era when successful business owners put down their roots and built their family homes in this immediate area.
Two porches, a gas fireplace, a third floor convertible family room/bedroom all on a spacious lot. Some areas make you want to dress up and feel the formal atmosphere. Other spaces invite your sweat shirts and gym pants. Our Dobermans love the huge back yard although they bark at the birds or a passersby on the sidewalks.
