The property was very clean and comfortable. The outside seating area was quite nice. The location was great for us ⊠near parks and the aquarium. We would return!
The stay was really nice. The place was amazing and there was plenty of space for the five of us adults! The train noise was occasionally annoying but there was a fan available to drown out the noise. We would definitely stay here again!
Very clean and newly renovated. Comfortable stay while visiting Duluth/Superior area. Would stay here again. Could easily accommodate family of 4-5 or two couples.
You open the door and wow! It is a hidden gem. Everything you could ask for they have it. It was a rainy so we could not enjoy the fire pit but that area looks amazing. Easy drive to Superior and Duluth. Looking forward to staying here again.
A group of ladies stayed here for a surprise birthday. Very clean, plenty of linens & towels, very spacious. Appreciated the simple check out. Will remember this in the future if back up in the area!
This place is such an amazing hidden gem. It was so homey and cozy my kids didnt want to leave. All of the ammentities are spot on, bedrooms were roomy and overall a great place to stay. We wont be staying anywhere else on our next trips to the twin ports. Thanks for everything!
I have never written a review before, positive or negative but this was truly worth taking the time for. It was immaculate and maintained very well. Extremely nice place.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Keith's property in Oliver.
It was fun to stay at a unique property with interesting history.
We spent most of our time in Duluth & Superior. It was a short scenic drive away. I would definitely share this property with others and return again. Thanks Keith!
We enjoyed our long weekend stay. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the fire pit and grill.
It is a ten minute drive to the town of Superior and a 20 minute drive to Duluth.
This location is close to train tracks so you do hear them throughout the evening. A fan and/or sound machine helps greatly if you aren't used of the noise.
All in all it was a great stay, it met all of our needs and the host was very easy to communicate with.
PS: We stopped at the two watering holes near by and everyone was kind. (:
Modern conveniences in a terrific historic building. Great patio with comfortable furnishings a grill and fire pit. Private feel inside and out. Comfortable beds. Excellently stocked kitchen including a crockpot microwave and toaster. I appreciated the tin foil for cooking and paper fore fire starting. It is a tiny town with only a bar and and a bar and grill for services and there are frequent loud trains. Really loud. We thought they were cool, but they do come by at all hours day and night. Fabulous location for outdoor recreation. No garage. No inside storage for bulky messy gear.
It was the perfect place for our group of four for a weekend getaway. Spacious, clean, property manager was easy to communicate with, and check in/out process was simple!
Beautifully remodeled, repurposed village hall minutes from west side of Duluth. Nice, northwoods style decor. Very comfortable; well-appointed.
We had plans with other family in Duluth & could have spent more time at this property. Major appliances, beds, furniture like new. We loved it & would stay again. Two minor suggestions: Pls provide facial tissue. A few in our group couldn't clean their glasses. Consider providing regular coffee to brew (not just instant).
We loved this property. We had 2 families staying (7 total) and it was roomy enough and had everything we needed. We cooked some meals and had all the pans and utensils we needed. The fireplace was perfect as were all the smart TVâs, Only 10 minutes from Spirit Mountain which was ideal. I highly recommend this place.
This is our second stay at this property and we can't say enough about how great it is!! It is spotless and very well equipped. There is a fire pit on the patio with supplied firewood. The location is great as it's easy to get to Duluth and the surrounding areas without being in the hustle. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here while visiting Jay Cooke in the fall and it's a lovely place! There were only two of us there, but it would be great for a family or group of friends as well. Super spacious! Awesome kitchen, great sitting area outside, and the building exterior is super charming! Highly recommend!
Great open living space for hanging out and eating. We appreciated that all of the basic necessities were stocked (toiletries, paper towels, cooking/baking gear, etc) and that there was a large pile of firewood to use. The train horn was a little disruptive to sleeping, especially for the person on the pullout couch in the living room. But overall we enjoyed our stay!
We are Keith and Kristine Johnson. We have a young daughter named Sage, and have lived around the Duluth-Superior areas all our lives. We now reside at the edge of town in Superior near Pattison State Park.
This property caught my eye when a friend, who had recently purchased the place, invited me over to take a look at it. I liked how unique it was so I asked how attached to the building he was and he had no intention to sell. Six months later he said he decided to move to another city and asked if I would like to purchase the property, in which I replied yes.
The exterior of the building is like it was years ago. There is a bell tower, and with a bit of restoration, the original bell of 1929 was put back into place.
