We loved this spot! Right in the middle of Main Street. Cute little historic looking building. Comfortable bed, easy check in process and super convenient parking included. We would love to return!
It was right on the main downtown area. We opened our window one night to listen to a band playing close by. The better bathroom was awesome and the bed was very comfy.
The room was immaculate. Learning that the property manager is also the tasting-room manager for the Sleight Of Hand Winery was awesome. The Conjurer (2019) that came with the room was incredible!
My adult daughter and I flew in to town for the weekend to visit Whitman College. This room was perfect for our stay. We had to check in after midnight and the process was easy and thanks to manager instructions we didnât have to worry about how it would work. The room was so comfortable, the bathroom was huge and beautiful and we slept really well in the bed. Room was walking distance tasty breakfast, college campus, and Saturday night entertainment. We would absolutely recommend and happily stay at the Hungate again.

Great location
The location was perfect. The front door area was filthy and so were the floors in our unit. The struggle we had with this property was the rattling noise from the fan was terrible! If we didn't wear the provided ear plugs there was no hope for staying asleep throughout the night. Either the fan needs to be replaced or it needs to be properly balanced. With that said, we will be back as the location was everything.
My wife and I stayed a couple nights here. We didnât spend much time in the room but It was clean, charming, and felt safe. Its worth mentioning the bed or topper was the most comfortable hotel bed iâve slept in.. nicely done. Its a secure building in LITERALLY the center of town, probably less than 3-4min walk to tasting rooms, shops, restaurants, bars and breakfast! If you stay here you have to go to Hattaways for dinner, Red Monkey for Bar food and late drinks and Maple Counter for breakfast. Outside of town try Patterson Cellars, Pepperbridge, Valdemar Estates, and find Floating Balance. Theres a million magical wineries but these were some of our favs. All together we had a wonderful stay!
This little hotel was perfect for our short stay in Walla Walla. Central to all sorts of fun happenings, but everything closes up at 10pm so the noise from nearby bars wasn't disruptive to our sleep. The room was nicely appointed and it served as the perfect jumping off point for our weekend adventure! Parking is limited and we arrived around 9pm to find all the spots were taken, including the reserved spot for our suite. Reached out to the landlords but never heard back from them with alternate suggestions; never got a response at all, in fact. As long as you're willing to navigate some things on your own and don't need to contact the host during your stay I fully recommend this place and would definitely consider returning.
This really is in the heart of downtown but with this location comes street noise up til about midnight . Our room faces the street so there was lots of noise. The listing has you believing its an apartment but it is not. It is just. Hotel room. It has a bed and a bathroom, no kitchen and no place to really sit and relax except for the bed. We received no checkin information and tried getting a hold of the manager for over 24 hrs and ultimately had to call vrbo. But once we got the code access was easy. Bed was comfortable
The shade on the window above the door wasnât sufficient to keep hall lights out of the room. The price didnât seem to fit the accommodation in my opinion. I also drop phone charger by bed side and had to move table. Appears that table never been cleaned underneath.
We have stayed at the Hungate on other trips to Walla Walla. We love the downtown location, the historic building and the ease of parking. We would have preferred one of the larger units, but none were available.
Great location for us. All of downtown is accessible from here. Clean and well kept, everything we would have asked for out of a place for a wine weekend!
Perfect location right on Main Street, walking distance to all the tasting rooms on Main Street. The front door entrance is a steep stairs to the second floor, so if you're disabled or can't walk upstairs or downstairs very well, you'll have to use the elevator, which is in the back entrance.
Room is clean and the free bottle of wine is a nice touch. Free parking as well, which is great since parking on the street is limited to two hours. Check-in process a breeze. And the biggest plus for folks visiting Whitman College is that it's also walking distance from campus. Can't complain against anything. Highly recommend. Will definitely book again when visiting Walla Walla.
