Lynnâs home in El Jardin by the Sea was perfect. Her house is the cutest in the neighborhood and has a Caribbean feel to it. The location is great-It was a short walk to the beach to dip our feet into the warm water. The walking trails nearby are beautiful! Nearby wildlife refuge made our walks amazing with so many different birds, animals and other wildlife to enjoy. Great restaurants- We recommend the happy hour on Fridays at Merlion's in Old Seabrook, where meal-sized appetizers are half price. Other nearby restaurants we recommend, you donât want to miss are Tookie's Seafood and T-Bone Tom's. San Jacinto Battleground Historical site and other attractions and museums are nearby. NASA is 10 minutes away. Lynnâs home has everything you need to just settle in and relax even watching wild deer walking through the neighborhood in the evenings! My wife and I will definitely return soon.
Though I'm a native Houstonian, I just retired as professor of Hospitality Management and Tourism from a small University in Louisiana. Wishing to return to Texas and live by the beach, I purchased this home in El Jardin Del Mar as it's the best of all worlds....rural tranquility, beach, abundant wildlife such as deer, rabbits and racoons and wonderfully relaxing. neighbors, but only a short drive into downtown Houston: live theatre, ballet, symphony and Houston Grand Opera.
Houston is well reputed for its fine Arts, Ballet, Opera, Theatre and restaurants, but our beach community of Seabrook has its share of fantastic restaurants boasting epicurean delicacies from crabmeat enchiladas, to jumbo Gulf Shrimp to Diners and Drive-ins winner: "T-Bone Tom's!" NASA gives interesting tours to all ages to learn about our journey into space and University of Houston Clear Lake features students from all parts of the globe studying Chemical Engineering to literature and features Ballet performers from exotic locales such as Cuba and Spain! Armand Bayou should not be missed to have a glimpse of Alligators in their natural habitat...but be careful, sometimes they "escape" and may be found on Red Bluff Road straddling the median as they can grow in excess of nine feet!
Daydream Cottage is definitely the best of all worlds if you are looking for a vacation retreat or visiting on business to one of our numerous industrial complexes nearby. Tranquility in the heart of Texas!
