Clean. Everything we needed to cook was available. The river is so close that we slept with the windows open every night. Peaceful.
The distance to RR is perfect. No traffic.
Going back again!!
The area received about 8â of snow and we had no power or water for 19 hours, but that wasnât the problem. The problem was the property management company said this happens A LOT during snows, but they had no plan for it anywhere in the check-in papers we received. No instructions, no flashlight, no candles, no water (to flush toilets) and no firewood (our only source of heat).
They were sure to tell us all of OUR responsibilities (clean up, do the dishes, take out the trash, etc or we would be fined otherwise), but they did NOTHING to help us navigate the crisis.
Again, the property was great, but they need to find someone else to manage it for them if the current company doesnât at least provide tools and information to help people in these situations.
The cabin is nice overall but it's the little things that can make a visit a poor experience. I put the blame on the management company Reservations Unlimited. They had coffee but no sugar, If my sister was there she would have liked tea, no tea. If I had kids maybe some coco, no coco. The only cutting board was the size of a piece of paper. I brought a nice bottle of wine and no corkscrew (biggest pet peeve). The only cooking oil was a quarter cup of vegetable oil. The only spices were salt and pepper. My dad is 81 and there is no handrail to go up the steps to the cabin. Of the 3 outdoor plastic chairs there were, one was broken. And lastly, the firepit looks like it was constructed by a 10 year old. The seating for the firepit was 2 fence posts on the ground and they didn't provide any wood if we had wanted to use it in September when the nights are chilly (Huge draw, Huge disappointment). And maybe leaving out 2 cookies and a note saying we appreciate you booking with us, Hope you enjoy your stay. Please go spend $10 at the dollar store and fix the firepit. Sorry but I do not recommend Bear Bait Cabin if you book through Reservations Unlimited.
GPS works there BUT the info provided by the agency lists the WRONG address. The people who live at the listed address are tired of having to redirect people to the correct address which is house number 67 (same street but across the river) and NOT the house number given in the directions.
We stayed for the week of my birthday and it could not have been better. The river rushing behind the cabin was an unbelievable backdrop to this cozy stay in the mountains. Fly fishing right on the property. I will absolutely stay here again.
This property is a little slice of heaven in the woods. We played outside by the river the entire time - fishing, kids splashing in the water, grilling, fire and sâmores at night. Great management company! They had an awesome welcome pamphlet with all the things to do in town that weekend!
Location of this cabin with total seclusion is unbeatable. To be able to walk out the front door onto the river is amazing. Also, being able to hear the river flowing while inside the cabin is very nice.
