We loved this rental for a long weekend. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. The rental was tidy and comfortable for our family. We would stay here in the future.
Loved this place - near the Northwest Arm, it is in a walkable neighborhood, it is near a main street yet quiet, has a great layout, loved all the windows and skylight! Holly was fantastic to work with as host, she was proactive and responsive, and all information/instructions were really clear. We would stay here again!
The location was good but the turn off is on a busy highway plus the room was stuffy when i checked in. constant turning on of carbon monoxide detector and when i asked the host she didn't respond. The bathroom needs an air ventilator.
The house was just as shown in photos and as described. Very accommodating. We were thankful to have a washing machine and dryer. We never could quite figure out the TV, even with the sheet of instructions, but that could be because we are not Canadians and their system was quite different from ours. Initially, we had trouble finding the house because the narrow street next to another narrow street was confusing to us. We did ask other guests at a different house, and that helped. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you.
Overall I enjoyed my stay here, very nicely decorated and the snacks and toiletries were appreciated. It would have been 5 stars but the listing was slightly inaccurate as it said it had a hot tub but didnât which was a little disappointing as I was looking forward to using it. It may have been an issue with Vrbo as when I looked later it was gone from the listing. If you are thinking of staying here you should know that the driveway can be tricky to get into and up so you might have a bit of trouble if you have a small car that is low to the ground. Even though it was close to the road it was still very quiet and a good place to get away that isnât too far.
Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
Dangerous driveway entry
The space was adequate but kitchen was dark with one dim overhead light. The bathroom was smallish but exhaust fan didnât work. Must have been for a while because there was mold/mildew on the base boards. Had to keep the AC on in bedroom because it was so stuffy especially at night. The living area was nice with skylight and windows making it the only bright part in the place. They did have Roku with many streaming options. The electric kettle didnât work and the ironing board was rusted out and unusable. As soon as I contacted the owner replacements arrived. The worst thing was the dangerous entrance to the driveway that was an acute left of a major road on to an un level driveway. The entrance to the house was two makeshift steps that were hard to navigate
We enjoyed our stay here. There is a lot of traffic noise but it's nicely drowned out by the waterfall. It took a bit to figure out how to get in the driveway but once we had driven it once, it was easy. There are lots of walking trails and parks nearby along the harbour. Dead Man's island is very interesting history that we didn't know before. My only recommendation is to provide cotton sheets instead of polyester microfibre. Much more comfortable.
Cozy, quiet and clean. A sanctuary of sorts. Holly is super nice, replies right away to any inquiries. Very accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!!
We provided feedback on several little things that could be improved that give it a 4 star rating.
Not quite a 5 star because our unit was below the adjacent and there was noise (early and late on) that was a bit disturbing
Fully equipped and the owner is focused on providing a great experience for their guests. Great attention to detail, for example the tv was playing soft music when we arrived, coffee, tea and hot chocolate were provided as well as snacks. A very pretty and comfortable place to stay.
We had a wonderful stay over Christmas. The property was in a beautiful area of Halifax with lots of great walks near by. The house had all the amenities we needed, it was very clean and comfortable. Thanks to the property owner Holly, who was so welcoming and attentive.
The house was cozy and a nice place to snuggle up on an evening in. It was quite dusty though and we had a lot of bother from the neighbours walking upstairs and taking loudly till late in the evening. Also, without a rental car, this place would be quite expensive as itâs quite a hike to Halifax downtown.
We just returned from a 2 week stay at this lovely unit close to the Northwest Arm. The apartment was a great place to land after a busy day of caring for my 94 year old dad. We have stayed at many VRBO's but this one really stands out for numerous reasons: The babbling brook right outside the bedroom window sang us to sleep at night and the outside space has an enchanted garden feeling. The propane fireplace was an added touch on a few cool fall nights. We had the best sleep in the beautiful romantic Canopy bed. The well appointed art and lamps were a bonus. We cooked many meals in that great space. If you don't feel inspired to cook, there is a retro-chic restaurant , The Armview, (5 minute walk) away. This restaurant has the best food in Halifax. Another bonus about this location is that you are walking distance to Halifax Yoga. I participated in many classes that were incredible. We also appreciated all the added touches in the bathroom. This was truly a 5 star experience, we will be back.. Thank you Holly for renting out this secret garden.
A great location, immaculately clean with rushing water outside your bedroom. A unique property and location. It is an hour walk to downtown Halifax. Everything was as advertised and we enjoyed our stay.
