The cabin is perfectly suited for 5 couples with each bedroom having an en-suite bathroom. Everyone agreed that the rooms were nice and the beds were comfortable. The location is good if you want to be close to Gatlinburg. And there is at least one neighborhood black bear. What I didn't realize is that this cabin isn't nestled in the woods with mountain views. It overlooks the backs of a few businesses, including their dumpsters. Yes, that's a bit down the hill, but you don't have a feeling of being in the mountains. Additionally, we did not have adequate pots or baking pans for our group, even though we were only 8 adults. We made chili one day, and had to use a frying pan and medium pot to have enough for the group. I brought aluminum catering pans, which helped with the cooking. Otherwise, it would have been impossible. And finally, the listing mentions it, but I missed it --- you must have charcoal for the grill.
Five GFs met in Gatlinburg for a reunion weekend and we had a ball! The cabin was BEAUTIFUL and accurately represented in the pictures. It was outfitted with everything we needed and then some! We enjoyed our time in the hot tub and just sitting on the balcony rocking chairs and getting caught up. The host was easy to communicate with and responded in a reasonable amount of time. We absolutely took advantage of the trolley stop that we walked to at the bottom of the hill. It made it easy to access Gatlinburg without the hassle of parking. If you stay here, do take the trolley and leave the parking nightmare for others!Of note for anyone considering staying here, we did have a bear try to get into one of our cars (he left evidence on the door handle and on the ground near the car, also, he was not successful and did no damage to the car). However, it was our fault as we forgot the popcorn in the back seat. Be mindful and don't forget to take ALL food inside the cabin if you stay here. Thanks again for an awesome stay!
We all had a great time!! We saw a bear on the first night we were there! Not to far from the grocery store & town! Thanks for a great family vacation!!
Overall the time was a blast! There were a few small issues that were easily overcome. Most bathrooms only had a partial roll of toilet paper. Limited to no paper products in the kitchen. Absolutely no spices in the kitchen.
Outdoor trash can was completely full on arrival making it hard to dispose of our trash. However the location was great especially for trolley pickups so we didntt have to drive into town. Bedrooms were comfortable with all having their own their own bathrooms. Overall cleanliness was good with minor typical dust issues. Would definitely not hesitate to return.return to this property.including salt and pepper.
The rooms in the house were smaller than expected. The living room on the first floor was small as was the kitchen area and the bedroom. I sent a message to the host with some issues. I did not hear back from them until the day before we were leaving.
some issues.
This is a perfect stay for large groups. We were comfortable and cozy! We thought they needed to upgrade the pots and pans but it was a great stay all the same.
I was notified of HVAC not working on 3rd floor about an hour before check in ! I was already on the road. We were informed that it will be repaired and we could still check in at normal time! However after we got there, 3rd floor was supper hot - as expected on a 90+ degree weather! After we inquired , we were told to turn on the AC at 9:30 pm as it wouldnât work before that. No explanation was given as to why. We turned on at 9:30 and the whole floor was still very hot .At 11pm,the reading on the thermostat was 81, and felt like it or even worse. I took a picture of the thermostat and sent it to the host. We couldnât sleep on the 3rd floor with kids. I would like partial refund on my payment because the host couldnât deliver the services as we have paid for it. I understand they have no control over things that happened but they have to pay for the circumstances not the guest! We paid for air conditioned units but wasnât presented as expected.
My husband and I went with a group of best friends there was 10 of us. We all had our own room and bathroom. The cabin was gorgeous and the location didnât disappoint. We saw bears every night, you could see them from the 2nd floor balconyâŠ. Renee was a great host, she responds promptly and checks in to make sure all of your needs are met. We will be back to Laurel Oaks
We enjoyed our stay very much. There was a hiccup with the door code but when I called I was given a code that worked. The towels left black fuzz everywhere but all in all this was a great cabin with excellent customer service and I would definitely recommend to anyone and even stay again myself.
