The place is nice and true to posting. Owner is friendly and respond to questions promptly. We really enjoy the fall season, with beautiful turning colors, scenery and kayaking.
It was a great place with lot to do for a family vacation.
there was not one person out of the 13 people who were there had anything negative about anything. It was very relaxing with a lot of land to have family games, volleyball, horse shoes, swimming, boating, and much much more.
We had a great week at this beautiful home. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The lake view was unparalleled. Everyone enjoyed having their own bedrooms and there was plenty of room for everyone to hang out in the community areas.
We had a wonderful time! The property is beautiful! The water was too warm to swim in but perfect for kayaking and paddle boarding. The state park is a short drive away where the water is perfect for swimming. We would definitely recommend this property.
Cougar Point was a fantastic and fun-filled spring break. The family enjoyed fishing from the property, swimming and kayaking on the lake, and playing lots of volleyball. The water access and backyard set up was perfect for our active families and guests. We all enjoyed everything, and the kids loved the game room also. The owners were fantastic and accommodating in case we needed anything. We will be returning again for sure.
Everything about our stay was wonderful. First and foremost, the house was very clean. House layout, with bedrooms upstairs and downstairs, worked out great as the family with young kids had the lower level to themselves. Kitchen equipped with everything we needed. Big grassy yard lead down to the lake, where many fun hours were spent. Deck with picnic tables and the gas grill were also put to good use. The owner was in contact with us after our reservation was confirmed to ask if we had any questions or if he could help in any wayâŠvery helpful. Everyone had a great week.
Our stay at Cougar Point was great - the rooms were clean and spacious, and there were more than enough bedrooms and bathrooms for our group. We especially enjoyed the views from the deck, the fire pit, the game room and lounging in the sun room. Water access was really convenient too. The only minor thing I would mention is the kitchen could use some replenishing of cooking utensils/containers. Otherwise we wouldn't change a thing, and we hope to be back one day!
The house was clean and spacious, with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. There was abundant space for our family of 8 to spread out. The property is beautiful and there were plenty of outside activities to enjoy. The lake is pretty and quiet. The only small downside was that the water was a bit too warm for our taste, but that didnât stop us from enjoying the swimming anyways.
Our stay was at the end of September and the water was a very warm 94 degrees. The home is in a beautiful setting and we practically had the whole private side of the lake to ourselves for several days. The home is large with lots of bunks for kids and a detached game room they will love. Jan is quick to respond and provide assistance. We had a very good stay at Cougar Point!
Jan's house was perfect for our group of adults with two toddlers. We really loved all the outside seating for having our meals outside, and the fire pit and dock and big lawns were great for spreading out. There were plenty of bedrooms for our group and tons of towels (not always a given!!). Jan was very responsive to the few questions and check in and check out were smooth and easy. The property was also not too far from the Dollar General or Food Lion/ABC Store so it was easy to get supplies. Recommended!
The property is beautiful and the house can accommodate a large group--it has all the amenities you need, with added bonuses like the game room. It's a great stay for families of all ages...the nice sandy bottom at the entrance to the water is shallow and great for the littles. Being on the private side, the water temp is enjoyable, even in mid-April. The huge beach is fun too!
The owner is super easy to work with and responds quickly to inquiries.
Thanks for an amazing stay, Jan! We'll be back!
Our family stayed at this rental for our annual family vacation and a great time was had by all! The house is beautiful and the property/view is exquisite! Plenty of room for the ten of us to spread out but comfortably watch a movie or share a meal together. The owners have thought of everything - the kitchen is fully stocked with any appliance or utensil you might need and there were plenty of towels, linens, games, etc. The owner is very responsive, accommodating, and helpful!
The game room was a huge bonus for the kids and adults! We enjoyed fishing off the dock and making s'mores over the fire pit! The water was warm, as expected, so we took a day trip to the beach at Lake Anna State Park where the water was a little cooler. We also enjoyed all the local restaurants, putt-putt golf and antique shopping! All in all, we had a fabulous time!
JAn went above and beyond our expectations as a host. The house was phenomenal with simply the best service one could ask for. Just a simple text to Jan with our needs and he was over with the quickness. We had a large group and slept well in this house. All the family game amenities were used and greatly appreciated. Definately plan to return! Thanks again Jan!
We had a wonderful stay at Cougar Point! This is a beautiful property with magnificent views of Lake Anna. The home was sparkling clean and had all the amenities that we needed for a relaxing and comfortable vacation. Our grandchildren loved swimming and fishing in the lake, playing volleyball and especially the game room. The adults enjoyed visiting and playing board games on the large sun deck as well as BBQ grilling. At night we enjoyed telling stories around the fire pit and roasting marshmallows. We had lots of room with plenty of comfortable sleeping accommodations, a nicely equipped kitchen and a great TV enabling us to even watch our favorite NFL games! Many thanks to Jan and Sheila for being wonderful hosts and for enabling a great family vacation...we can't wait to come back for another visit!
Fabulous house with plenty of room for a large group. The property is awesome with a fabulous lake view. Just breathtaking. Plenty of room for your group to spread out. An added bonus is the fabulous detached game room. Awesome hang out spot for the group of college kids we hosted. Down by the lake there is an amazing gazebo with a propane fire pit plus there is a wood burning fire lit perfect t for evening g fires and sâmores. Just an awesome weekend we had. We will definitely be renting this place again. Jan is an amazing owner and very responsive to texts and calls. 10 out of 10.
We had a great week at Cougar Point. When we arrived the property was very clean, and the ramp on the property was good for launching our boat. The dock has deep water off the end, which the kids loved as they could dive off the end without fear of hitting the bottom. The water was quite warm, but the kids liked it that way and stayed in for many hours. The house was very nice - lots of room, with a beautiful deck overlooking the lake and the great sunrises. Jan Rosenberg is an excellent owner who went out of his way to please us. As an example, when his guests on his adjoining property were setting off fireworks at a late hour and I called him to say our little ones were having a hard time going to sleep because of the noise, he immediately had the fireworks stopped. He even offered to have us follow his boat, in our boat to the annual fireworks display down the lake. In summary - a great week at a great place. I highly recommend the property and the owner.
My family was so excited to be at Lake Ana for a family gathering for Thanksgiving. The home didn't disappoint any of us. The house is beautiful, clean, well-kept, well-stocked, spacious rooms (more than enough for all of us) and a very homely feel to it. The owner is extremely accommodating and replies immediately...which I really loved.
We loved, loved, loved the fire pit right next to the water. We also loved the fact that we were able to do karaoke, near the fire pit, because there was a pole with electricity right near the fire pit.
We had a blast and really hated to leave but seriously thinking about coming back in the summertime to enjoy the dock and water.
The only downfall is that the internet didn't work in the lower level floor (it didn't bother me at all but other family members wanted it downstairs). The host was informed and I'm quite sure he will rectify it.
Oh, there is also a gameroom which the younger group thoroughly enjoyed.
Overall, we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. You will too.
We celebrated our Dad's 80th birthday at Cougar Point. We had a 7 week old baby and our 80 year old parents and all ages in between, and everyone enjoyed themselves! My mom was able to hold the baby and sit on the huge deck and see everything we were doing on the huge property. There was enough room to set up cornhole, spike ball, horseshoes, plus the added beach volleyball was awesome. The little ones loved being able to stand in the water while the older kids swam and floated just a few feet away. Thereâs also a bonus game room which came in handy at night! We had such gorgeous weather that no one was inside all day. The house itself was perfect for multiple families with plenty of sleeping space. I loved that the living space was all upstairs which kept everyone together. The dining room table was not big enough for us all to eat together but there was plenty of space for overflow on the deck. (Luckily the weather cooperated)..The owners were very friendly and attentive. They live next door so they were very available for any questions or requests. I would definitely return to Cougar Point!
Our entire family spent a wonderful week at the lake. There are so many good points about this house. The kitchen is large enough to accommodate cooking meals for many people. The four bathrooms were appropriate for the number of people. While the bedroom layouts may not work for all families, we made it work for ours. One more bedroom with a full or queen size bed would have been perfect for our family, but, like I said, we made it work.
The game room was a nice place for the kids and adults to play. The yard was amazing. We commented all week how wonderful the grass felt on our bare feet and how much we enjoyed the sunrises and views of the water. The dock was really nice and the kids enjoyed jumping off of it.
The biggest downfall of the week was that the water was really hot. We were prepared for it to be warm because we were on the private side of the lake, but it was not refreshing at all. That didn't stop us from boating a lot and swimming a little.
All in all, we enjoyed our time at Cougar Point. There is nothing better than spending time with family and making unforgettable memories in such a beautiful place.
We have been coming to Lake Anna since the mid eighties. We lived in Maryland, and bought our first vacation house at the lake in 1988. We built our current home in 1996. When I retired at the end of 2013, we moved here full time. We live next door to Cougar Point.
I have been taking care of this property for Dan Cougar, the previous owner, since 2014, and when Dan decided to sell, it was a good fit for us. We are very responsive to any needs you may have.
There is a nice size deck for enjoying dinner and conversation outside, with a great view of the Lake. The way this unique property is situated makes for a very private setting. You are not in a crowded cove where you feel like you are on top of the neighbors. Nice volleyball court. Boat ramp. New dock in spring of 2017. Plenty of off street parking.
