This place is serene and relaxing. We had wonderful time around the fire pit and playing games as a family. The lake was refreshing. Loved the location
This was the 3rd time we had stayed at the property and it was very disappointing. The house was very dirty and many things broken. We booked for 11 days and 5 days in the washing machine stopped working. I messaged Paige twice about it with no reply. With 12 people staying there a broken washing machine is a big deal. The handle to microwave was broken, floor in kitchen raised up, toilet leaking onto floor and carpet in bedroom, a/c vents dirty, food crumbs on seats, moldy showers, chair falling apart and leaving pieces on everything and everybody, trees and bushes overgrown into the walkway at front and back stairs, trim on windows rotting (i mentioned this to Paige 4 years ago on 1st visit). Master bathroom door taped together with band aids, door to balcony didnt lock. So much more that could be listed. Duke energy scheduled maintenence in the neighborhood and powered turned off. They always notify when doing this but Paige did not notify us. It was the 2nd to last day and at that point we just went back home as we had just had enough. What made everything even more frustrating was the lack of communication from Paige. She responded when I said I would fix the leaking toilet but never about the other items. It is apparent that from reading other reviews that state the same issues that Paige and June are only interested in the money. The house continues to be booked because of the location and so as long as they get money they just dont care about anything else.
This home is lovely, spacious, and equipped with everything for all kinds of weather. Paddle boards and kayaks, perfect water, and the marina just around the bend while inside you can play pool, video games, puzzles/board games or just hang out on the deck. Let me tell you about the views!!!!!! Gorgeous from every angle, deck, and time of day. It was breathtaking. We met here for my 50th birthday and it was perfect in every way. The owners, Paige and June, were very responsive as we did have one hiccup that comes with owning any home and they got it fixed right away. It was wonderful!!
This house is situated ideally such that there are beautiful lake views and no visible buildings on the opposite shore. The water was still warm enough this time of the year for the grandkids to play on the paddleboards. On the cooler evenings my wife enjoyed the wood burning fireplace on the main floor which is the top floor. A game room with a pool table was a popular place for all to hang out at night. We only had 7 people in our party; the house could comfortably accommodate quite a few more.
Great Location, lot of steps, wish house was cleaner, some safety concerns
There is a lot of good and bad here. The location and view here is why you rent this house. The layout was good in terms of giving you some separation when needed from kids, or couples.
Rooms are a great sizes with very small but functional bathrooms. The dock is great and was great that it came with a couple of paddle boards and a kayak.
Biggest safety concern was the top deck is about 30+ feet drop to the ground and the wire railings were over 6 inches apart. If you don't have any small children with you then it isn't a concern but if you do it is a major concern. They really need to add another wire in the middle up there as that is definitely not to code. Second thing is the fire place hearth jets out right where you walk out of the primary bedroom. It is only a problem because it sticks up about 1.5-2 inches above the floor. Really bad design and caused several hurt toes. There is a buckle in the flooring in the kitchen that everyone constantly tripped and stubbed there toe on that needs to be fixed.
Now for some maintenance issues. Some of the screens on the screened in porch are not there. About 30% of the lightbulbs are out. There was no starter soap or shampoo and the toilet paper was minimal to start and the house felt unclean to be honest. Coffee pot and several dishes were dirty, so we washed everything.
Still had a great time just needs to put a little effort into this to make the guest experience a great one. You can tell the bare minimum is done here.
We had a great time at this cabin. It is very roomy and I liked the vertical layout giving everyone privacy when they wanted it. We had a group of 9 total. It is a 4 bedroom unit but one of the rooms is bunkbeds so remember that if you have 4 adult couples. We had 2 sports cars and a SUV. Be careful parking in the gravel. My rear tires on the Porsche got stuck for a few mins since it was on an incline and there were loose rocks. The lake and view is really beautiful. Very close to Tail of the Dragon and some of the best roads in North America. Thanks!
Great house for a week on Lake Santeetlah! Amazing decks with views of the mountains. Love the dock for swimming and boats. Great fun for our three families (14 people).
We loved our stay! There were 9 of us total who came, and we couldn't be happier with the house. With three separate levels, there was plenty of room to spread out and not feel like we were always on top of each other, but the space was also very accommodating for all of us to spend time together. The game room in particular was a HUGE hit with the kids. And the VIEWS. Oh my goodness, the views! Three levels of decks meant plenty of outdoor space to take in the lake and mountains. We got a lot of use out of the dock and the kayaks and paddle boards provided as well!
Paige's was beautiful and spacious with plenty of room for everyone. The lake and location were wonderful and our family enjoyed the paddle boards on the lake. We were a family of 12 and had plenty of space to gather together and get away in smaller groups on the property.
We had 8 adults and 4 children from 5 to 12. This was perfect for us. plenty of space, everyone had privacy. The kitchen is generously stocked with all manner of cookware, utensils, etc. water recreation was unlimited. Perfect for an action packed lake vacation.
Paige is wonderful! Sheâs very responsive and accommodating. Owning a vacation rental is challenging in the summer because things just happen. The HVAC went out right before we arrived, but Paige and her family made sure each effected room was cool and comfortable with window units that had thermostats. The views are incredible, the home was perfect for our families, well stocked kitchen, and fantastic paddleboards, kayaks, and life vests. Thank you for a summer vacation full of happy memories.
We had a a wonderful stay at your mt lake house. What a beautiful spot it is! Time on the lake, swimming at the dock and evenings on the deck were some of our favorites. There was lots of pollen on the patio furniture which made it hard to use. Also the central AC on the top two floors seem to not be working completely but overall we had a great time at your mt retreat. We plan to come again next summer!
enjoyed our stay as we always do in the many years (decades) that we have been going to Santeetlah. disappointed, however, that the HVAC not working on 3 of the 4 living levels, one of which had noisy window AC units and 2 levels with no AC at all. Access is a challenge from street to house and house to dock
