Great stay! Wouldnât have changed a thing. Privacy and seclusion. Outside of the city to avoid tons of people but close enough to come in enjoy and close to all the outside attractions! Jose who maintained the property was great, had fresh food for snacks and was out going in maintaining or pleasure during the stay!

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Casa Cavu. The entire team was fantastic - from helping us coordinate all our excursions, to cooking dinner for us in our home. They truly covered all the bases and made us feel like royalty. Would highly recommend to anyone else visiting the area!
The property was amazing! There was very loud construction going on next door and the host offered to move us to another location. Everything worked out great!

We truly enjoyed casa cavu. The property is in a good location but a rental car is a must. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around it. We really enjoyed our stay. Jose and Delfina who were the care takers were great as well.
We had 5 guests and another couple two door down. The house was a great central location. Pool, beach, kayaks lounge chairs were wonderful!. We arranged for a welcome dinner, which was amazing as well!
My wife and I stayed here for 6 days for a short getaway and much-needed vacation during these difficult times. The house and property are beautiful. Isidro and Rocio are great and we had a very nice meal prepared and served by them! We rented a car and did a bit of sight seeing, hung out a lot at the pool and beach and had a great time. We definitely recommend staying here.
Amazing property and Akumal Direct was a pleasure to deal with. We changed houses because of the seaweed issues, and they didn't charge us any change fees...Seamless transaction.
Thank you for a wonderful family vacation!!!
Wonderfully beautiful waterfront near Talum and Akumal
Casa Cavu is a beautiful house and made our stay perfect. Pool and beach were
picture perfect and soooo relaxing. Kitchen was large and dining room beautiful which allowed us to have
wonderful diners (wonderful grocery store in nearby Talum). The beds
were wonderfully made by senora Rocio and she clean the house every day just like
at a 5 star hotel :-) Isidro and Rocio were just excellent and made our stay
extremely pleasant. Talum and Akumal were just 15 minutes. The Kayaks, Snorkeling, and a
local Cenote just down the street added to the fun. Can't wait to return to Talum
& Akumal and would definitely stay at Casa Cavu again!
The house was exactly as described, and all of my questions prior to our stay were answered promptly. The managing company was attentive and helped us feel prepared for our stay, then were just as prompt to respond whenever we reached out during our stay. The caretakers on the property were sweet and kept the house and beach clean and fresh water and towels stocked. On a rainy day, they brought us fresh coconut and hot chocolate! The house was a great home base for us as we explored nearby akumal beach, cenotes, and tulum ruins, and we made great use of the pool. We ordered groceries to be delivered ahead of time, but there are plenty of great grocery store options on the way from cancun airport or a 10 min drive away in tulum. There are also great restaurant options a short walk away. The road from the highway to the house is very bumpy - not so bad that it kept us from leaving the house when we wanted, but we wonât miss it. Overall a quiet, safe home for our family trip to Mexico!
It is a wonderful property. We loved the view and being able to walk to a few restaurants. The location is perfect. Itâs a quiet area with a Cenote within walking distance. Itâs convenient to Akumal and TulĂșm. There is construction next door, but it wasnât disruptive. The groundskeeper and housekeeper were attentive. A place on the beach was cleared daily. Some of the furniture needs an upgrade. The living room sofa was difficult to sit on. Cushions were uncomfortable and didnât stay put. It could be a problem for people with limited mobility. More/nicer outdoor furniture could really put this house at the next level. We would rent this house again.
I'm pretty wary of trusting positive reviews these days. But this is a legitimately incredible rental. This was a splurge for us, but completely worth it. The house has it's own quiet beach, far away from the big hotels. We stayed in the city of Tulum the week before renting this house - it was loud and certainly not family friendly (we have 3 children). This house was a welcome respite from the craziness of Tulum. If you bring children, stay here and take day trips to Xel-Ha and Xplor and the ruins. Very family friendly - the kids had a blast. I recommend renting a car. Most of the activities require a short drive.
Communication with the property manager was very fast and clear. The house was very well stocked. Much better than most rentals. The house is perfect.
Our family of 4 stayed at Casa Cavu for 10 wonderful, adventurous and relaxing days in June & July. My husband and I, and our children, aged 6 and 8, swam every day, played at the beach, snorkeled in the bay, kayaked, explored local restaurants (there are a few within a short walk) and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay at Casa Cavu! We took a private van from the airport to the house (scheduled by the concierge) and had a rental car delivered the next day. We ventured into nearby Tulum and Akumal for day trips, restaurants, more snorkeling, ruins, hikes, monkeys and shopping. The house is well appointed, the beds are super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you need, and the A/C in the bedrooms was perfect. Rocio and Icidro made the stay extra special. Rocio kept the house clean every day and Icidro raked the beach of seaweed and cooked us two fabulous meals. The mosquitoes were really bad, but other than that we were comfortable, felt safe, and enjoyed our vacation very much! Don't hesitate to book this place, it's fantastic!
Other than difficulty finding the property (directions need updated) and the major pot holes in the road in and out of the place - everything else was pleasant. The construction going on next door got loud at times. There were several restaurants within walking distance but not much else without leaving the area. If you are looking for a remote tranquil place to stay this is it. Beach was pretty private with not many people around when we were there. Very close to Tulum where we did grocery shopping. The caretakers are exceptional. We had one issue with the safe not opening, I contacted the property managers via email and they were on it quickly enough. No issues at all with the house itself. Wifi worked great and we were able to bring in several main stream television channels. Property is very secure.
We stayed for 5 nights with my sister, wife and 2 kids. We had perfect weather other than a stray T storm and Isidro made most of our BFs and dinners. He's a good (but not amazing cook - we stayed at a different VRBO last year and had a very talented chef so our expectations were high - but he was very personable and presentation was great.) Rocio as a cleaning lady was a godsend. Overall, enjoy the white sand, gorgeous bay, perfect pool, and tons of cenotes for great morning trips. Even a day trip to the ruins was nice. The only downside has nothing to do with the house, but the tons of seaweed that make the water murky and cover the beach in the mornings. Isidro does his best, but it's a problem for the whole Yucatan coast - we wish it would go away and so does everyone else I think too! We stopped at Playa De Carmen on our way back to the airport and it was even worse there. Rhett was also very helpful when the internet went out one day. Overall, would def. return if the seaweed situation clears up! Very good value!

We enjoyed our recent stay in Casa Cavu particularly because of the staff! I can't thank them enough. They made our stay easy, like a hotel. The staff kept the house clean, gave us recommendations for local spots. They went far and above general Airbnb cleaning service. The home was lovely, very spacious, next to a beautiful shoreline. The entire shoreline was full of saragossa (seaweed) though they try to clean it every day. It is just too much to keep up; some other areas in the coast are worse. Though we didn't swim in this beach area we did enjoy the view and relaxing on the sand (soft sand). There are a few sea turtle nests on the property and hope a guest will be lucky to see them hatch in fall. We had plenty of lines, beach towels, etc. The area is guarded by security and very quiet. There is a hotel next door that makes great cocktails and delicious food. Note on the Construction: The crew was there on some days of our trip. The construction did not bother us though we were also out touring in the day time and it may bother some people. We would stay again with the construction and all.
Great location, snorkeling at your door & walk to restaurants.

If you're looking for a quieter vacation experience this is perfect. Very nice Bay with great snorkeling right in front of the house. The water access is Rocky but if you have your fins on it's not a problem. Very few people on the beach so it feels like you have the whole place to yourself. There are approximately five local restaurants in nearby boutique hotels you can walk to and a cenote. The home was very clean and The master bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the couches really are not. But you don't spend much time in the house anyway. My only complaint would be the lack of hot water. In order to take a shower you need to turn the hot water only on and it's lukewarm at best. Overall a great vacation property with excellent on-site managers. Felt safe and well taken care of the entire time. Also it's an easy 10-minute drive into Tulum if you're looking to visit a busier area.
Our family stayed here in July of 2024. We really enjoyed our time in Casa Cavu! The family that cared for the property are wonderful! Carolina and Fernando are so nice and their son was such a cutie! They were always available and very helpful during our one week stay. Our boys saw pelicans, hermit crabs, ghost crabs, lizards and crabs, a sea urchinâŠwhile right on the property. They enjoyed that very much.
I agree with other reviews take water shoes because it is a very rocky beach behind the house. We were able to snorkel and saw many fish and big shells.
I would recommend renting a vehicle. We needed to get groceries right away the first day. We did rent a SUV for 4 days for the 6 of us. It was very easy and was delivered/picked up at the house. You definitely need a vehicle to get to Tulum. We went to Tulum daily while we had the vehicleâŠitâs probably less than 10 min to drive into town. It was very nice just drive to the cenotes and take your time and not be rushed like when you go on tours.
We did have a lot of construction next door and it was loud but we made the best of our stay. We just played music while enjoying the pool. They did warn us when booking the trip that there would be construction going on.
We had a chef come and cook us dinner out last night. It was delicious!
We had a awesome trip! Many memories were made. Thank you Carolina, Fernando and Matias for taking care of us during our stay at this beautiful home!

We booked this house knowing nothing more that itâs rough location and seeing the photos. It turned out to be amazing! You are about 5 mins north of Tulum Centro and 10-20 mins north of all the poshe beach resorts/scene, which we ventured both multiple times a day.
Being greeted with amazing manicured jungle foliage, Casa Cavu has Mexican charm with all the modern amenities one could want all with your own beach! The main level has two generous bedrooms and both with nice views of the beach/water and shared an eclectic bathroom on the main level. The master suite had even better water/beach views and a private terrace from which one could enjoy their morning coffee or drink at sunset!
The windowed kitchen was good size and had all the amenities one needs. The pool overlooks the beach/ocean and features a deep blue mosaic bottom and multiple seating areas. Adjacent to the pool, there was a small foot washing pool, which we found our two infants playing in multiple times throughout the week. We loved Isidro and Rocio, who took care of not only the daily turn down service/cleaning, but raked the beach, cooked meals and even did our laundry for a little extra, they made our trip perfect!
To top off the amazing sunrises, we experienced multiple amazing autumn moons rising from the horizon and on the last night sea turtle hatched right in front of the pool and we helped them on to the ocean to save them from the predators lurking around, it was amazing!
I would recommend Casa Cavu to anyone looking for a wonderful and relaxing beach vacation in paradise!
