Le Port Albert Inn a Ă©tĂ© construit en 1842 prĂšs des chutes d'eau dans le magnifique Port Albert, en Ontario. Cette installation de 4000 pieds carrĂ©s comprend 6 chambres et peut accueillir 14 personnes. 5 lits queen, 1 lit double et 2 lits simples. Nous autorisons jusqu'Ă  18 personnes Ă  sĂ©journer dans cet Ă©tablissement. Il y a des salles de bain avec douche et TV satellite dans 4 des chambres. Il y a une cuisine complĂšte avec tous les ustensiles mais pas de lave-vaisselle. Il y a un grand salon avec le bar Ă  cerises d'origine, la tĂ©lĂ©vision par satellite et des siĂšges pour plus de 20 personnes. Il y a un bain Ă  remous, une terrasse, une grande cour et un foyer pour les feux de camp. Nous fournissons le bois de feu de camp ainsi que le propane pour le barbecue. Tous les draps, serviettes et savons sont fournis pour les lits et 12 personnes. Apportez simplement votre nourriture et vos objets personnels! Nous permettons aux clients d'apporter un animal bien Ă©levĂ© dans cette propriĂ©tĂ©. Des frais de 19 $ par animal et par nuit s'appliquent. De l'autre cĂŽtĂ© de la rue se trouve le magasin gĂ©nĂ©ral de Port Albert oĂč vous pouvez acheter des pizzas, des hamburgers, des sandwichs, des produits frais, du gaz, des cornets de crĂšme glacĂ©e et d'autres articles de commoditĂ©. La propriĂ©tĂ© est Ă  cĂŽtĂ© de la zone de conservation avec les cascades. Lovely weekend with friends

Everything was perfect! The place was comfortable, clean, and ideal for 7 couples spending the weekend together. Excellent location to explore the area. We all enjoyed everything about this place.

The INN is cool, historic place. Bonus store and pub/restaurant across street. However, not a lot to do very close by. The best ( yes that was only close thing ) was great. Would recommend.

Family Holiday

We all enjoyed our stay at the Inn, especially my family visiting from England. The shop across the street is very handy and we liked having lots of different areas to sit in. Just note that there is no dishwasher in the kitchen, we all took turns doing the dishes each day. Overall a great vacation.

Annual Canada Day Long Weekend Trip

My group of friends has a tradition of spending the Canada Day long weekend at different spots across Ontario. The Port Albert Historic Inn was not only one of the most unique venues we have ever rented, but it was very close to the beach, had excellent amenities, and had a lot of space both in the backyard and inside for our group of 15! Angus was a great host and I would highly recommend this listing.

Port Albert Inn

This was a very unique experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking to stay with a large group. The beds were comfortable, the showers had good water pressure and the well water was not smelly at all. We stayed during a heatwave, each room has fans and the rooms stayed quite cool and comfortable despite no A/C. There was an issue with the hot tub jets and the owner was quick to try and fix the problem.

We stayed at this property March 2023, for a few nights. I have nothing to complain about - the property was exactly as described, Angus answered our calls quickly and was really good about helping us fix mistakes (we locked ourselves out the first night), the neighborhood is quiet and calm, the general store and pub across the street were great - I'm hoping to stay here again soon!

A special experience

The Port Albert Inn is a unique location for groups that want to relax, get together for meals and evenings then have individual space through the days. There is an eclectic assortment of decorative items that provide wonderful ambience and conversation topics, the bar/dining room and kitchen provide convenient means of preparing and serving food and the bedrooms are quite lovely. The location on Lake Huron is ideal for exploring or relaxing. This was a unique find and we will be back.

Canadian Thanksgiving

The rooms are clean, plenty of towels. There are four bedrooms upstairs with their own en suite bathroom. There are two other rooms upstairs with a shared bathroom all very comfortable. there is another bedroom on the main floor that looks like it was once a large dining room. They can sleep a bunch of kids, but there’s no bathroom. They need to walk upstairs. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. Great outdoor fireplace with firewood supplied. About a 10 minute walk from the beach, we can watch the sun go down. There is a large kitchen with a gas stove and industrial fan hood a dishwasher would be a nice touch. Best part of renting this hole in is the bar area where you can hang out and talk and it’s almost like you are hanging out at a bar for the weekend. Great stay awesome for large groups would return.

Port Albert Inn

This property was really cool. It worked very well for our 4 family group. Two wings, 7 bedrooms, allowed our group and pets space and privacy. The large communal area allowed us to be together in comfort. We had a great time and were very appreciative having our pets. It is quiet with an awesome restaurant and store across the street for supplies. The back yard is large, there is a nice fire pit area and a hot tub. We enjoyed the space, the bedrooms were awesome, the communal bar area was really fun and it was fantastic to have the whole place to ourselves. The owner was great, he lived right next door and allowed us plenty of privacy. On the negative side, the yard is not fenced or private. The place has no air conditioning, although lots of fans, the heat, humidity and air flow did not dissipate. There was no relief inside or out. The front windows don't open, the front door has no screen so you cannot get an air flow. If heat is an issue, you will not be comfortable. The kitchen has no air flow at all, cooking is hot. The gas stove did not work well cooking took a long time. The place was not as clean as it could be, dust on the collectibles, dust under my bed, leftover food on the bbq and the floor left bare feet black. We left our dogs for 1hr and the owner left a message saying we could not leave our dogs unattended, which is unreasonable. We went to beach to swim. We were not allowed to have music outside, also unreasonable. Old coffee machine needs upgrade.

Our stay could not have been more perfect - we loved every single aspect of the Inn - celebrating my mom's 80th birthday. Nothing disappointed. The 4 bedrooms (with 4 private bthms) over the bar/lounge/dining area were gorgeous; we gave these 4 rooms & the small sitting area btwn to the aunts/uncles. A short hallway (with 2 privacy doors in between) connected to 2 more rooms, a bthm & small sitting area. We used these rooms for cousins/kids & squeezed 4 more single foam mattresses into the 2 bdrms for the "young" adults. The kids slept on the floor in the sitting area. Back on the main floor was the huge 7th bedroom (4 single beds, 1 double). The room was huge & could have easily accomodated another 1-2 queen blow up mattresses. The central kitchen at the back of the house had everything - a full fridge, chest freezer, oven, stove, 3 sinks, and more plates/cutlery/platters/bowls/pots/mugs/glasses than you'd ever need. The hot tub was loved by all - private, hot and big ! The bar area was perfection. The wood burning stove was a gorgeous gathering place all weekend. We loved the 2 built in dining nooks either side of the bar entrance (3 other tables are around the rm with large card tables & extra chairs also available). We used the space to easily feed 28 people. We easily projected a slide show on the wall, played charades, had a painting party, danced, partied & celebrated as a group of 28 people (not all sleeping over) creating unbeatable memories. We 100% recommend!
The lounge is spacious and cozy for everyone !
Spotless lounge/bar/dining area with a classic wood burning stove.
This space is the best gathering spot ever !
7th bedroom on the main floor - 4 singles, 1 double ... room for blow up mattresses for sure !

The Inn was what we expected. The surrounding envirionment was excellent.

We ran into a couple of minor issues and Angus (property manager) was right there to sort it out. We recommend this property. It is everything it is meant to be.

High School Friends 50++ Year Get Away

We had a great time at this grand old Inn. Seven friends coming together after a couple of years forced seperation due to covid. We loved that we each had our own bedroom with the majority of us having a shower/toilet ensuite. The Inn was spacious giving us lots of room to spread out. Amenities were close by. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to use the hot tub or camp fire but we'll try that out another time. Definitely interested in coming back.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We are located in the quaint village of Port Albert near the sandy shores of Lake Huron. We host small weddings, retreats, parties, and large family vacations of up to 40 people. The Nine Mile River meanders through the village and though the conservation area with its waterfalls, foot bridge, fish ladder. The waterfalls is located less than a minute walk from the Inn. In the spring and fall guests can see spawning trout and salmon at the fish ladder. Across the street from the Inn is the Port Albert General Store and the village Pub. Sandy Sunset Beach is a 6-8 minute walk or you may drive and park for free. It is very quiet in Port Albert and we are just a 2 hour drive from the GTA and 15 minute drive from Goderich, Ontario.
