So glad you had a nice stay and enjoyed beautiful view of ocean with lots of dolphin and horse sightings you shared. The a/c being out was reported to us by you at 9 pm in the evening and so we called and got maintenance out there first thing the next am and it was more than change filters so then we called a.c company and amazingly out on sand they got out there early same afternoon and actually you thanked me for getting it done so quickly and it was all up and going before 7 pm ..so less than 24 hrs.— but wish it would have only been filters and then quicker ..but to be honest it can take longer for us not on sand or in a resort area to get anyone to come out …so we were thankful for response time but again so sorry it occurred at all and wish it could have been fixed much sooner…..and a/c units only 2 yrs old …so go figure an issue… And, yes you told us smoke alarms going off and we called maintnece to go out and then you messaged and said they stopped going off on their own ,,,,,unfortunately the next day cleaners found after you checked out a bunch of cigarette butts in the home —-and so it has been concluded that smoking in the home is actually what set them off and why it stopped going off in a bit after smoke dissipated ..it is a smoke-free home ….. but the alarms had recently all been updated and maintained so we thought it very odd to occur and those who did that work stood by their work and said it wouldn’t have stopped going off if a faulty alarm ..BUTif folk stopped smoking and smoke got out of room/area then it would stop…..so we will continue to monitor and re-iterate no smoking in the home. Again thank you for your stay and info and the fence is being repaired and few other issues like condensation in vents from doors left open and a.c on and all that being addressed in off season here.

Actually, interesting you should mention the exterior as had one contractor working on it who stopped on north facing side so reaching out to get that completed during this off season-so all updated on exterior, too!! Look forward to you staying at Away From It All again! UPDATE: Contract just signed for entire exterior to be repainted—work to begin in October 2023!

This was a very surprising and disappointing review and I am so sorry and saddened to read this….especially since you as guests never reached out about the washcloths or towels at all during stay or issues. The towels, washcloths, hand towels, and linens are all supplied by an outside company through the management group there, and , we do know supplies are still limited ever since pandemic, so we do advise everyone to bring additional towels and washcloths for their stay, and of course, we are following up with this concern now. Also, you brought pets but didn’t wish to pay the extra pet fee, but that is required if pets are brought there and I don’t know if this may have caused some extra undue stress for ….either way I just so wish would have reached out during stay of concerns with towels/washcloths. Update: Current cleaners, linen company and management company ALL replaced—

Thank you for your review and for letting me know now about these things you listed, as I was unaware of any of them until right now. This is great information so I can share it with my home management team so these items may be addressed now. I am so glad you enjoyed the house and only wish you had mentioned these items during your stay, as I am sure toilet clog, and the musky smell could have been remedied while you were there. UPDATE: Brand new flooring being placed upstairs in great room and the dining room area...so no more frayed carpet, half bath toilet has been completely redone, and basement deodorized —management company and cleaners all were replaced as of end of September 2023!!! Expect exceptionally great things season 2024..with more upgrades and entire exterior repainted!

Thank you for valuable information: as not aware about door locks, area in bunk room, or outside shower with stuff in it (as it was all cleaned out last time I was there as I did it and hauled stuff out of there to the dump, so guessing guests Earlier this season left stuff in the shower)—so sorry, wish you had reached out in stay as I would have got the ground team out there. However, I can get it addressed now before next season. Yes, those are truly the best ocean views we have seen out there! Glad you enjoyed kitchen as Brand new refrigerator just before your stay and 1 yr old oven and totally remodeled in last 2 years! We love the kitchen,too!
