House was cozy and the view was incredible! Our kids loved playing in the yard, especially with the two adorable dogs from next door. Location was perfect and the host was super responsive. Only downside was that the house was a little musty from being closed up, but host was eager to remedy.
We loved our stay here! The house is secluded yet so close to downtown Bluffton. The big yard with views of the water was so beautiful. The house had everything we needed.
We couldnât have enjoyed our stay more. Annaâs place is magical. Perfect for relaxing. The setting was awesome. The town of Bluffton was quite enjoyable. Weâll hopefully be back soon.
We had a very relaxing stay! Home was very clean and had everything we needed. Kitchen had a variety of pots & pans that we put to good use. Showers were clean and had great water pressure. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of blankets. The neighbor dogs did come over to introduce themselves and really would've liked to stay for the bacon we were cooking!! The were super friendly and we enjoyed watching them jump around the river. Only minor complaint was when the air conditioner kicked on, there is a substantial clunk in duct work that seemed to only be heard in the master bedroom. Not a problem in the day but a little shocking when you are trying to fall asleep. Again, not a huge deal!Owners were super friendly and answered my million questions super quickly. Would highly recommend! We will definitely rent again! Thanks for a wonderful week.
State of Mind cottage on the May River was just what our group needed. Laid back, relaxing and only the sounds of nature while relaxing on the May River. Our host, Anna, was very thorough and answered all our questions about the house and Bluffton area. Awesome place!!
Property was in a great location right on the May River and very close to Bluffton. The small basketball court was a HUGH success with our grandsons and the back deck worked great for the adults. Unfortunately there is no access to the river because the dock appeared to have been taken out by flood waters im guessing BUT we were advised of this before hand. Host was very responsive to any and all questions.
Above all, this property offers incredible views breathtaking as a Nicholas Sparks novel come to life. A heritage homestead close to Old Town, we were minutes from the conveniences of modern Bluffton and the beaches of Hilton Head Island. Ideal for adults seeking a quaint, peaceful, temporary respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The house was well furnished with everything you need for an extended stay and is an a wonderful location. Itâs near the water with lots of seclusion and quiet.
The views from this property are fantastic! It is also incredibly well located in Old Town Bluffton. The owner/property manager is very easy to work with. I highly recommend this property.
Weâve stayed at Annaâs house for the last 4 years (for a month each year). The house is in a beautiful, peaceful setting with an amazing view. It is walkable to Old Town Bluffton which makes dining at the numerous delicious restaurants there easy. The house itself has all the comforts of home. We especially love the fire pit.
We had a perfect stay. Communication with our host was always fast and so helpful. Our dog loved the space to play. The house is tucked away and has everything you may need. Comfortable, clean, close to plenty of restaurants or bars you may want to visit down the street, and offers gorgeous views across the May River. We will be referring friends and family and book again in the future.
Best visit ever! It was exactly what is stated it would be and the neighbors dogs were an added treat! It was clean and comfy and in a great quite location!
Drive down a private, gravel road, with beautiful old oak trees, to the house on the May River. It is very quiet, except for birds chirping. There is a basketball court in front and a nice porch in the back with comfortable seating. The inside is roomy and spacious, with three bedrooms and two baths. The second bath is very small. The property is close to everything yet feels like you are in the country.
Enjoyed our stay at this cute property along the May River. The house had everything we needed - lots of space to hang out both inside and outside, a nice large dining table for meals and playing games, beautiful views of the river, close proximity to lots of great restaurants in Bluffton and 30 minutes drive to Savannah and Hilton Head beaches. We didn't do a ton of cooking but the kitchen seemed pretty well equipped. A great addition to the property would be a gas grill.
Tips if you stay in this area: We stayed in early August and there were lots of mosquitos so bring bug spray if you plan to spend time outdoors. Also, Fish Haul Beach is not a good swimming beach - it is very mucky (we liked Folly Field Beach and Coligny Beach). We had a wonderful dinner at Skull Creek Dockside restaurant in Hilton Head.
